Need help choosing where to donate for my #RABMAD (Read a Book, Make a Difference)
I'm going to join Rob S. Guthrie's RABMAD Project. It's an informal group Rob founded a while ago for himself and other Authors who want to (informally) state their intention to donate a portion of their proceeds from book sales to various charities. My plan is to donate a portion of the profits from the sales of
Conditioned Response
(and other books in the Phoenician Series) to military-related charity.
Problem is, there are so many charities of which I am a fan that I cannot pick just one. So I setup a poll on Facebook (LOL what else?)

After they're involved in a fatal car accident, the enigmatic native Phoenicians have sent someone to "help" them blend together, into a new man. Can they accept the new existence together, or will their minds collide as fatally as the car crash that killed them?

When two brilliant scientists die together in a careless traffic accident, the Community, a fledgling human colony on an alien world, suffers a devastating blow. Joshua Scherrer and Andrew Caine might have loathed each other personally, but their collective knowledge was vital to humanity’s survival on this Phoenician world. Without them and their contributions, Administrator Stafar Baghendi fears for the very survival of humanity’s last stand.
In a desperate attempt to salvage both men, Stafar Baghendi uses an untried, theoretical gene therapy process, infusing the genetically-encoded memory of Andrew Caine into the DNA of Joshua Scherrer. The two men awaken to find themselves living together inside one mind, but their clashing personalities might prove a more fatal collision than the one that killed them the first time.

When Minds Collide Releasing--Conditioned Response 50% to Celebrate!
Last night I created a book page here and uploaded the source file for When Minds Collide to Smashwords and will be setting up the book here on Goodreads today - all in anticipation of an August 1 release date.
Overnight 29 people downloaded it and 8 added it to their Smashwords Library (yay!) so I guess even before I start pushing its promotion, it's gonna do well. Psyched. I really like the way When Minds Collide turned out. From cover art to the plot unfolding, this story just worked. It's "William's Story" which kind of surprised me. I'd thought it was the story of how Joshua Scherrer and Andrew Caine became the man named Joshua Andrew Caine we meet in Conditioned Response. I guess Will just had other ideas ^_^

Goodreads Bullies - Gang wars?
This is NOT what happened to me, but thanks to a friend for cluing me onto this article. Just to be clear I have NOT been targetted (as far as I know! I dunno, maybe I'm so clueless that I believe readers are entitled to give a 2-star review). I've definitely had some BOGUS reviews posted. That is, reviews that are semantically devoid of any useful content, once you remove the book's blurbage/plot summary.
Still, this is a VERY interesting OpEd at the HuffPo on Goodreads bullies - and we've all seen/read/encountered them by now, haven't we? Sad but true. Makes the truly CREATIVE (but harsh) reviewers have to worry for their safety now, too. Why do people bully so freely online anyway. So not right (sigh)
