My dad taught me to tie my shoe, to ride a bike, to write true and timely thank you notes, to make an egg sandwich, that when I’m down it helps to make a cake, to stand up for myself without blaming others, to be humble, that hard work is its own reward, that words are wonderful, that parties are an essential part of life, to join in, to dance without hesitation, to seek friends in unexpected places, that I am strong, that it’s my own opinion of myself that matters most, that I am loveable not for what I accomplish, but for who I am. Thank you, Dad.
