Tell Me About it Tuesday welcomes back Sascha Illyvich!

I am really excited that the badboy of romance has dropped by today!

Sascha Illyvich is blogging about characters and secrets! How fun!

Check it out!

Why Resist? When Beta Males and Females hide secrets
In Raining Kisses, we have our hero, beta male to be in the Opeth Pack, IF he can get past his own issues.  He's murdered in cold blood, doesn't remember doing it.  He's sort of like Butch from the very famous Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but I'm not about to spoil why so you'll have to read both!
When I was developing this story further, I realized I had a second issue.  My other heroine in the ménage trio, Krystyna, is stubborn and holding onto her own pain just to shelter Katarina from it.  Her pain, really simple but she chose to deal with it in a more destructive manner, running to someone else in hopes of finding comfort.  Only, she's kept the secret from her one lover in Hungary, and found herself in trouble because of who she associated with.
The Opeth Pack is on the verge of a breakthrough and the one thing they did NOT need was for her to give information to the Turkish wolves, who lacked a pack witch and healers.  The Prophecy dictates who is getting into heaven and who will remain behind to deal with the fallout of a cataclysmic event involving wolf and man, but if the Turks can stop the Opeth Pack from fulfilling prophecy, then they have a chance at evening the playing field with the pack favored by the Goddess herself.
Nicholaus's refusal to return without a damn good reason makes sense as he wants no part in this silly wolf war.  Yet, when his lover is at stake he must act with his heart, even though his head tells me not to.  The secret he's held onto for so long wasn't really that big, was it?
I modeled this off simple human issues:  We all have our secrets that can destroy us, until they're exposed and brought to light where we discover we're stronger than they are, and our issues aren't so paralyzing.   Can Nicholaus and Krystyna set aside their personal bullshit for Katarina?  And what will become of the Prophecy if Nicholaus realizes his true position In the famed Opeth Pack?

 Blurb:
After slaughtering Katarina's brother and father, along with a handful of other wolves who tried to abuse them, Nicholaus realizes his true darkness and decides to leave Hungary to keep his lovers safe from him. Relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nicholaus made a life for himself where he controlled the shots until the Opeth Pack messenger shows up with one of his lovers, requesting his assistance back in Hungary.

Katarina's other lover Krystyna has done something bad, but what, Katarina doesn't know. Her heart aches for both her stubborn lovers and forces her to find the courage to venture to America and bring Nicholaus back. Once the threesome reunites, sparks explode but secrecy threatens to tear the triad apart, as does Prophecy. Will Nicholaus remain with the two women who hold his heart, or will his lack of control make him return to the States, alone forever?

Friday Feature welcomes back ASHE BARKER on the Three Rs!

Today I'm excited to welcome back fellow Totally Bound author, Ashe Barker, who has yet ANOTHER release! She's a writing MACHINE!

She's going to blog about her new release, The Three Rs. Without further ado, here's Ashe!

The Three Rs is a slight departure from the norm for me as most of the action does not take place in my native West Yorkshire, although the story is set in northern England. This time, I’ve chosen Berwick-upon-Tweed, a small town right up close to the Scottish border for the main setting, a glorious place steeped in history. I’m not certain how many times Berwick changed hands as the Scots and English battled it out over the centuries, but these days the town seems at least as Scottish as it does English. And the fabulous Northumberland scenery and coastline is well worth a mention. I hope I manage to do both of these justice in the story.
The front cover features The Angel of the North, a superb sculpture designed by Antony Gormley. This landmark, close to Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, dominates the landscape for miles around. It was completed in 1998 and is the most viewed piece of art in the UK, visible from the mainline railway and the main A1 motorway linking London and Edinburgh. And it’s probably responsible for more than its share of near misses as motorists crane their necks for a better view.

“People are always asking why an angel? The only response I can give is that no-one has ever seen one and we need to keep imagining them. The angel has three functions – firstly a historic one to remind us that below this site coal miners worked in the dark for two hundred years, secondly to grasp hold of the future expressing our transition from the industrial to the information age, and lastly to be a focus for our hopes and fears.” (Anthony Gormley, sculptor)

The Three Rs is the story of Abigail Fischer, who unexpectedly inherits a share in a construction company from a man she’s sure she never met. She has no idea why James Parrish would have any interest in her, let alone leave her anything in his will. And James’ nephew, Cain Parrish, is even more baffled. Not to mention he’s also mad as hell about it. Parrish Construction is his firm, he’s built it and worked for it, and suddenly a perfect stranger turns up to take over his thriving company. He’s not about to take that lying down so the sparks soon fly.
Cain and Abigail are attracted to each other, and pretty quickly the sparks are of a distinctly sensual nature. As Abigail joins Cain in Parrish Construction he starts to warm to her, not least as they both prefer their sex to be of the not exactly vanilla variety.
But Abigail has a secret. A big secret she’s managed to keep for most of her life. How long before Cain works out what she’s trying so desperately to hide? And how will he react when he does?
You can get your hands on The Three Rs from Totally Bound, and it will be on Amazonfrom today. And look out for the promotional giveaways on Facebook.

Perfect strangers don’t just leave you a share in their business. Do they? And even if they do, surely the rightful owner won’t just take it lying down…?
Abigail Fischer is about to find out. When a mysterious letter arrives informing her that she’s inherited a controlling interest in a thriving construction firm Abigail thinks it must be a mistake. Or a sick joke. Until she’s confronted by her new, very angry and very reluctant business partner. Handsome as sin but determined to be rid of her, Cain Parrish is everything Abigail desires – and most fears. Forced to uproot from her safe but dead-end job to help run the firm, Abigail is quickly drawn to her dominant partner. Attuned to her most secret desires, and able to meet them effortlessly, he quickly finds his way past her defences. But Abigail is not what she seems. Astute in business and a skilled Dom, Cain can easily demand her submission, but can he find his way past Abigail’s carefully constructed façade to discover the shameful secret she’s managed to conceal all her life. And despite her growing enthusiasm for the new opportunities now facing her, Abigail can’t become something she’s not. Or can she? Is it possible to leave the past behind and start over?
When things start to go wrong in their business, and as Abigail’s blunders threaten to sink their small but up to now profitable enterprise, will their delicate personal relationship survive? Will Cain forgive Abigail’s mistakes or is there a deeper significance to her apparent ineptitude?

Until 2010 Ashe was a director of a regeneration company in Leeds, in the UK, before becoming convinced there must be more to life. She left to work as an independent consultant, and still does some of that though most of her time is now spent writing, as at last she’s been able to realise her dream of writing erotic romance herself. Ashe has been an avid reader of women’s fiction for many years, and still loves reading historical and contemporary romances – the hotter the better. But now she has a good excuse for her guilty pleasure – research.
Ashe usually draws on settings and anecdotes from her own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to her plots and characters, but her stories of love, challenge, resilience and compassion are the conjurings of her own lurid and decidedly smutty imagination.
When not writing – which is not very often - her time is divided between her role as resident taxi driver for her teenage daughter and friends, and caring for a menagerie of dogs, rabbits, tortoises.  And a cockatiel.  Ashe is a rural parish Councillor, and she’s passionate about evolving rural traditions and values to suit twenty first century lifestyles.
Ashe has just completed her third trilogy in the Black Combe ‘family’ as well as a novella and a short story. All are due for release over the next few months.

Tell Me About it Tuesday Welcomes back Kimberly Packard!

My very good friend, writer Kim needs a good author shaming. But she's blogging about it, so I guess that gets a few cool points.

Meet Kim

Author of Phoenix, published by goodmedia press in November 2012. Novelist hoping to change the world one page at a time.

Excuses, Excuses
When Chrissy asked me to be on her blog today, I thought I would be promoting my sequel to Phoenix, Pardon Falls
Yeah-No. Pardon Fallsis still *this close* to being done, but she was kind enough to let me hijack her blog so I could fill you guys with all kinds of excuses. Such as:          Alien abduction
This thing called a day job
My sudden time warp from Christmas to February
A cold that just wouldn’t let go
A sick cat (he’s better now – go Jerome!)          My parents grounded me and took away my computer          And, the strange occurrence of my butt and the chair repelling each other like polar opposites So see, excuses – I got them in spades!
But, in reality, the real reason that Pardon Falls isn’t out yet is that it’s not ready. Plain and simple. What I’m learning with my second novel is that books are like kids – no two are alike.
Phoenix was really a pretty easy novel to write. It all came to me in a whoosh of creativity. Pardon Falls came to me in glimpses … and it is still coming. The beginning always bugged me, like when you tried to recreate Grandma’s recipe but no matter how hard you follow the recipe, it’s just missing something. Over Christmas, I realized what was missing – my main character, Amanda, wasn’t driving her story.
So, couple of new chapters in the beginning and voila! She’s in charge like she should be. But, this means that I need to make a few tweaks throughout so it doesn’t seem like the manuscript was frankensteined together.
You know, the more I think about it, the more I realize that Chrissy didn’t let me go ahead and do the guest post as a courtesy. I now realize it’s public shaming. Guess I need to wear a piece of paper around my neck:
I didn’t finish my novel in time for my awesome friend to host me on her blog.
#authorshaming

Editor's note: HAHAHA! I am going to be hammering on Kim until I get an email that says "I'm DONE with Pardon Falls!"
And let the public author shaming begin. And she ASKED me to publicly shame her.

"Phoenix" is the story of Amanda, Alex and Shiloh, three individuals tied together by two crimes committed thousands of miles and ten years apart, each looking for redemption and forgiveness.

Amanda Martin boards a bus in the middle of a cold Chicago night with no luggage and only two thoughts:  get the hell away from the crazed gunman who obliterated her office and locate the man responsible for her indictment—and make him pay.

The small Texas town Phoenix becomes her refuge as she assumes a new identity to rediscover who she was before all the power and money changed her. She intends it to be a temporary stop before searching for her ex-boyfriend who ensnarled her in his securities fraud scandal, but the flirtatious advances of a handsome cop fuels her struggles between building a life there with him and her desire for vengeance. Uncovering a forgotten murder ignites Amanda’s need for redemption, but also drives a wedge in her new relationship, and puts her in the line of fire of two people who will stop at nothing to keep the case cold.

Tell Me about it Tuesday Welcomes Anne Petzer!

This week I am welcoming lovely Gypsy Shadow Author, Anne Petzer!

Meet Anne:

Anne is a South African currently living in Prague. She lives with her two cats, Zvonek who inspired the series and Metaxa, a feisty young lady who rules the household! Anne works as an English teacher in a private language school in the city.
Apart from writing she is an obsessive reader, loves cooking and entertaining her friends. Abhorring cruelty and violence of any kind she is an animal and children rights activist.
Moving to a landlocked country, after growing up in a coastal city, she has discovered a love for trees.

Q. Do you do any special research for your novels?

AHP: Yes I do. As my books include some Czech traditions, culture and folklore I research both on the internet and ask Czech friends to give me details. I also have a few books on the subject, All my characters are cats so for inspiration I will search cat breeds their habits, and appearance to use in the books. An example of that was Operation Catwalk.

Q. What made you pick your particular genre?

AHP: I LOVE cats! That pretty much is it J. The story centers around my own two and the area of Prague where we live.

Q. What are you working on right now? Can you tell us about it?
AHP:  With pleasure. I have just completed Zvonek 08 Feline Intelligence season one and am currently working on the first book of season two. I usually write two stories per book. The first story, Cats in High Water, is based on last floods in Prague in June 2013 and was a request from my editor to think about writing it. It includes partial truth, but once read which part is truth is up to the reader decide. :)
Q. Do you ever hit the wall or find you've written yourself into a corner? How do you turn that around?
AHP: Not yet but then I haven’t been writing that long. What does tend to happen to me in most of the books I have written is that I get to a point where I am stumped as to how to continue. I usually know the end before I write the story and work backwards – weird I know. Somewhere during writing I can see two or more ways to get to my end and struggle with which one to choose.

Okay...enough with the business questions! How about some fun stuff. You know, just between the two of us.

Q. The opportunity to go on a surprise vacation arises. You have 90 minutes to pack and get to the airport. Where will you go and what will you pack?
AHP: Texas!  Seriously I have always wanted to go and, according to most Texans I have spoken to, have a romantic view of the state. Tall cowboys that tip their hats and say: “Howdy Ma’am” Pack jeans, tops and boots.
Q. Are you more likely to be spotlighted on the TV show Hoarders or Fashion Police?
AHP: We don’t have these shows here in Europe, well Czech, so I had to Google them. Possibly Hoarders but after looking at some images on Google I don’t think I have quite reached that status yet. I think of myself as a collector rather ;). I ca’tQ. If they make a movie about your life, who do you want to play your part?
AHP: Ooo that’s a good one. Who would play me? Judy Dench, M from the James Bond series. As my novels are about a feline James Bond I think she would great and I love her.
Q. Tell us one thing about you that might surprise us...it can be a secret...we won't tell. :)
AHP: In my twenties I did body building and aspired to enter body building competitions. I trained 6 days a week and for quite some time I held the bench press record for ladies in my gym. I’ll save my secret for another day ;)

Please tell us about your book!

Last year my print book came out including all my e-books of Zvonek 08 Feline Intelligence. It’s great to get all of Zvonek’s adventures in order under one cover. It includes a Christmas story that includes a part of the Czech Christmas traditions.

Zvonek is smart, witty and fast, like many other cats. Unlike most other cats, however, Zvonek is also an agent with Feline Intelligence Czech Republic-Agent Zvonek 08, to be exact. Come with Zvonek and his partner Honza as they patrol the streets of Prague undercover on assignment. From a feline beauty pageant to a mysterious case of disappearing Christmas carp to a pair of international drug smugglers to a ring of unscrupulous rats beneath the city and more, the feline pals are on the move!

Friday Feature: MK Schiller on Experience

I'm welcoming back fellow TB author, MK Schiller! She's blogging about her writing journey!  Check it out!

Must have experience or need not apply

Thank you, C.A. Szarek for hosting me. I wanted to talk to you about my writing journey today. I’ve always loved romances. Possibly, this has to do with being a child of the 80’s.  Almost every movie produced in that era had auto angst, a great soundtrack, fallible heros, strong heroines, and of course the required grand gesture. Between purchasing jelly shoes, hoop earrings, and legwarmers, I was busy watching the great dramatic offerings of my generation.   My first foray into romance happened in high school. I wrote a short story…really it was just a few paragraphs with no beginning or end. The scene was that pivotal black moment, although at the time, I wasn’t familiar with the lingo of the industry, and in truth, I had no idea this is what I was writing. But I can tell you this…I loved writing it!
The hero tells the heroine good-bye, caressing her cheek. He divulges that he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to stop loving her or love her forever. He channels all his sorrow and frustration into a heartfelt speech, trying desperately to change her mind. She’s stoic and calm, but her insides are a quivering mass of emotions. He storms out, leaving her alone in the chaos of her thoughts. She sits and stares at the ceiling, clenching her hands, welcoming the physical pain to distract her from her emotional turmoil. If she allows her caged grief any freedom, it will destroy her. She waits in silence, trying to block out his words, because she knows she’ll go after him otherwise.
So, she closes her eyes, and takes deep breaths until the distance between them is too far for her legs to carry. Then in that moment, when she’s sure the time has passed, she breaks down, allowing her anguished screams and tears full occupation of her facilities until she reaches the point of exhaustion.   I showed it to a friend of mine. Her reaction was that I shouldn’t write about experiences I didn’t have. I have to admit, the critique (the first of many) hurt. I wondered if every writer must have experience or need not apply? The feedback didn’t stop me from writing, but life sure as heck did. Enter, college, a real job (as my parent’s like to say), marriage, kids etc. Then one day, I happened upon a very popular book written by a new author. Well, it definitely hijacked my mind for many hours. A good book gives us freedom.  After all, it’s the only form of stationary travel, and the only socially acceptable means of voyeurism.  When I wrote A Girl By Any Other Name, I had to draw on these traits to create honest, relatable characters and the extraordinary situation I placed them in. This is a story about secrets, childhood love, and a traumatic separation. As a child of the 80’s, I added a few grand gestures, a rocking soundtrack, and a healthy heaping of angst. I’d love to hear about traits you think a successful writer should have.

Everyone tells him he needs to move on, but how can a man function without his heart?

Ten-year-old Caleb Tanner wants nothing to do with Sylvie Cranston, the annoying weird girl who moves next door to him and gets him in trouble for swearing. But at twelve, they become friends when he teaches her how to hook a fishing line and she shows him the value of a selfless act. At fourteen, he falls in love with her.

At sixteen, she dies.

Or so he’s told. But Cal never believes it. Sylvie has become part of his soul. He knows her like the steady beating of his own heart. He’d know if she was dead. Cal looks for her, prays for her and finally he just waits for her.

Nine years later, she walks into the community college English class Cal is teaching. Only this girl claims her name is Sophie Becker and she doesn’t know him. Cal knows better. He’s determined to get the girl he loves back—and protect her from the danger that took her away all those years ago.

MK Schiller is a hopeless romantic in a hopelessly pragmatic world. Writing is her passion, but with a full time life and two busy teenagers, it proves difficult. But in the quiet dark of night, she sits by the warm glow of a computer monitor, and attempt to conjure up passionate heartwarming stories with plenty of humor. She started imagining stories in her head at a very young age. In fact, friends started making requests for stories where they were featured as the heroine and the object of their affection was the hero. You've heard of fan fiction... this was friend fiction.Even with that, it took many years to realize her dream. She hopes you enjoy my stories and always find The Happily Ever After in every endeavor.

Tell Me About it Tuesday: Teaser of Chance Collision! AND GIVEAWAY!

It's NINE days until the general release of Chance Collision (Crossing Forces Book Two) so today Tell Me About it Tuesday is all about ME. Or Pete and Nikki, as it were. Hehehe...

Here's a snippet:

Chapter One

The paper aeroplane sailed down the long hallway, heading towards Chief’s office. Pete cringed as the click of high heels registered at the same time as the feminine yelp.
Ethan dashed around the corner, and Pete hurried to follow. “Hey, squirt, slow down,” Pete called, but his partner’s son was already out of sight.
Nikki, his boss’s administrative assistant, bent down towards the little boy. Ethan’s copper curls were several shades lighter than the young woman’s, but Nikki’s hair was as natural as the kid’s. Usually neatly coiffed at the back of her neck, today her locks were loose and flowing. Appealing.
“What do you have there?” she was asking Ethan when he reached them.
“I’m sorry,” Pete said. As she straightened, Nikki had a smile on her face. Thank God. “Didn’t realise I’d get that kinda air.”
Ethan retrieved the paper creation and slid a small hand into one of Pete’s, looking up at both of them.
“It’s no problem, just startled me. Not like a paper plane collision can do much damage.” She smiled at the little boy, then met Pete’s eyes.
“Yeah, except for maybe a paper cut?” Pete shrugged.
Nikki’s smile slid into a grin and he got swept into the deep pools of her big brown eyes. She shoved her hair over a shoulder and Pete swallowed hard. The soft, wavy sea of red begged for a touch. A light floral scent tickled his nose with her pleasant perfume. It made her more intriguing.
Gorgeous. How had he never noticed before?
“Somehow I think I’ll live.” She laughed. The sound was sweet and he found himself grinning back. Like a besotted idiot.
“Unca’ Pete. Did you see? It went faaaaaaar,” Ethan piped up, tugging on his hand and jumping up and down. He veered the plane back and forth with his free hand.
“I did, squirt.”
Ethan grinned, his blue eyes wide and bright. “What’s your name?” the four-year-old asked Nikki.
Her white billowy skirt moved as she bent down and offered her hand. The fabric stopped at her knees. Damn, she had killer legs. Pete averted his gaze from her asset-hugging lilac top and the cleavage peeking out as she moved to the child’s level.
“I’m Nikki. Ethan, you’re getting big! I know your mommy. Andi’s my friend.”
“And my daddy is Cole!” Ethan tugged his hand out of Pete’s and shook Nikki’s outstretched one.
A smile played at Pete’s lips as he watched them.
“I know him, too. We all work together.”
Ethan eyed her up and down. “Where’s your gun?”
“Oh. I work for Chief Martin. I don’t have a gun. I’m not a detective like your parents and Detective Crane,” Nikki explained.
“C’mere, squirt,” Pete said, hauling his partner’s son onto a hip.
“Hungry?” His shoulder didn’t even twitch. Good.Never could tell when his year-old bullet wound would bother him. How much of that was in his head?
“Yeah,” Ethan said, nodding.
“How’d you get little guy duty?” Nikki asked, brown eyes dancing. As she squared her shoulders, her lilac top hugged her breasts more.
Pete’s stomach fluttered. He must be hungrier than he thought. He was too old for her, even if he didn’t consider her off limits. Unlike his partner, he didn’t date—or marry—at work. “Andi went into labour this morning.”
“Ah, I hadn’t heard.”
Shifting his feet, he met her gaze. “Yeah, and Cole’s with her, of course. Bella, his normal babysitter, is a camp counsellor for the rest of this summer down south in Livingston, and Andi’s mom is on her way. She moved to Ohio a few years ago when she remarried. Cole’s sister’s even coming in from Seattle later today. But for now, I’m it. I don’t mind, really. Me and Ethan are cool.”
Nikki’s eyes widened as she took in all the info he’d thrown at her.
Babbling? Really?  Come to think of it, that soliloquy was probably the most he’d ever said to her. He cleared his throat.
“My cousins are coming,” Ethan announced.
“That’s nice,” Nikki said, an easy smile back in place.
Pete had never noticed the dimple in her chin before. He tried not to stare.
“My mama’s having a baby,” his partner’s son continued.
Nikki ruffled Ethan’s hair. “You’re gonna be a big brother?”
Pete chuckled as the little boy nodded. He looked at Nikki’s slender hands. She’d been close enough to touch his face. What would that feel like? Her skin against his—
Jesus, what is wrong with you? Lusting after a kid. What was she, twenty-five?
“I’m gonna be the bestest big broder ever!”
Her laugh jolted him. It was as tempting as she was.
“I bet you are,” Nikki told Ethan, holding out her hand. The little boy slapped a loud high-five.
The buzz of Pete’s phone offered him the excuse he needed to tear his attention away from the Chief’s lovely administrative assistant. He offered a wave and turned away. He admonished Ethan to hush while he brought the phone to his ear.
“Crane,” he said.

Blurb:

Vowing to protect her had nothing to do with feelings.

Detective Pete Crane catches a new shooting case and considers it business-as-usual. But when the lead witness is the Chief of Police’s fiery assistant, he never anticipated she’d challenge him—personally and professionally. Especially while under his protection.

Little do they know, the shooting she and her grandmother witnessed was anything but random.
Thrown together, their attraction sizzles, even though she’s squarely in the no-fly zone. She makes him break every rule in his little black book.

Nikki Harper has been attracted to Pete since they met two years ago. Witnessing a brutal shooting throws her into a stigma that’s always been her greatest fear—a victim. She has no choice but to accept his protective custody and let him help save her and her beloved grandmother.

Can Pete protect his witness and solve the case, while fighting the intense heat with Nikki?

I thought I would share one of my fave Pete and Nikki kisses. This one is from Chapter Nineteen.

It's pretty hot!

His gaze travelled her gorgeous form. She was dressed in her same outfit of barely-there sleepwear—a pale green spaghetti-strapped tank and matching shorts that stopped at her ass. Smelt good, too. Something clean and floral.
Damn, she had great legs…arms, neck, everything. Nikki moved closer, her thigh touching his. She put her hand on his leg. The warmth of her touch sank into the jeans.
Pete’s cock jumped, begging her to move closer to his crotch. To touch him. Stroke him. Free him.
Their lips met on a mutual groan and he yanked her onto his lap, deepening their kiss. Nikki straddled him, her thinly covered sex hitting him with enough impact he was rock hard in less than a second.
She pushed her hands up under his shirt at the same time he spread his palms beneath her tank across the soft skin of her back.
He needed her bare. Now.
She rocked in his lap, her tongue mingling, dancing and duelling with his.
His abs quivered under her seeking fingers and Pete’s heart hit overdrive. He kissed her harder, pressing her into his chest until her hands had no room to roam and her breasts were flat.
Nikki moaned and kept his pace, slanting her mouth against his again and again.
A voice popped up in his head to stop, reminding him this wasn’t right, but there was no saying no.
She was passion and heat, and he needed her.
“Pete,” Nikki breathed against his mouth.
He stopped kissing her though his body screamed a protest, and pulled back to meet her eyes. Heavy-lidded and almost black, he read desire as strong as his. Pete’s cock throbbed. They panted against each other.
“Darlin’? Did I hurt you?”
She shook her head. “I want to go to your room. Now.”
