TITLE: Unplugged (Blue Phoenix, #3)AUTHOR: Lisa Swallow RELEASE DATE: September 29th GENRE: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis
"A rock star doesn't return to his humble beginnings and whisk away the girl he
kissed once. Especially if she has a four year old and her relationship status is 'it's
complicated'."
Blue Phoenix bass player, Liam Oliver discovers pictures of his fiancée with
another man and his world crashes around him. He packs up his humiliation and
hurt and flies back to his Welsh family home for Christmas.
Cerys Edwards once had pictures of Liam Oliver covering her bedroom wall. Her
best friend’s big brother never gave her the time of day when they were growing
up. When she was fifteen, he left town leaving Cerys with her fantasies. Now he’s
back. The problem is, she has a daughter and a broken relationship of her own.
In the world of his Christmas past, Cerys and Liam reconnect. Are they two hurt
people looking for comfort in a time of heartbreak or does Cerys have a place in
Liam’s future too?
Months later and unplugged from his Blue Phoenix lifestyle, Liam reconnects
with Cerys. He discovers Cerys’s world is full of complications he never expected
– including Ella’s father who isn’t happy about being replaced by a rock star.
Unplugged is more than a rock star romance. Liam isn’t dark and brooding like
Dylan, or a bad boy like Jem but a fiercely loyal man with a big heart. This is a
story of love, family and unexpected bonds made that can’t be broken.
This is book three of the Blue Phoenix series. It can be read as a standalone but has
minor spoilers for books one and two.

Excerpt

Our faces touch, his rough cheek against my forehead, and I know if I
move my head a few centimetres, our mouths will meet and our worlds will shift.
"Is kissing you still wrong?" I ask.
"Your lips are meant to be on mine." He moves his face. The static
charge of our mouths so close and the snow drifting onto our bodies drag us
into a surreal world. The shift happens. I slide my cheek along his, the stubble
scratching my skin as my lips meet the edge of his.
The world is covered in white, hidden from reality; a reality that I hate
currently. I can escape for an evening, maybe a few days, and allow his blizzard
to overwhelm me. If life is the same struggle when everything melts away again,
a few moments lost in a fantasy after months of feeling worthless are what I need
and worth the consequences.
Liam digs his hand into my hair and crashes his mouth against mine.
I gasp in surprise at the force as he delves his tongue into my mouth, sliding
against mine. When Liam kissed me in the bedroom the other day, there was a
tension in him where he held back part of himself. Was this because Liam knew
I did too? This time the world falls away completely as we kiss frantically, noses
bumping as he pulls me into the snowstorm that is Liam Oliver.
Liam moves to kiss my cheeks, a delicious scrape against my skin as his
hot lips burn into my cool neck. He slides a hand around my waist, beneath my
coat and holds me against him. Convinced my legs are going to give way and
cursing the lack of walls for Liam to press me against, I grip his sleeve.
Liam nudges his nose back across my face, hot breath mingling with mine
and misting in the air. “Definitely feels right,” he whispers.
Then Liam kisses me so gently that he takes my soul and pulls it apart. My
head spins as the intensity of the slow kiss fills me with a craving for this man
that will never be satiated. This is more than feeling right, this is our hearts open
and raw finding their way together.
Which means when they’re torn apart again the pain will kill me.
The heat we create counteracts the falling temperature around us but the

cold of reality isn't far. I pull my face away; I need to pull myself out of this.

Tell Me About it Tuesday Welcomes back Jorja Lovett!

My very good friend and fellow Totally Bound Publishing Author, Jorja Lovett has a new delicious book to talk about.  So without further ado, here's Jorja!

Thanks for having me here today to promote my little cougar romance, First Floor: Cosmetics, which was just out on general release from 15thAug. This is the second book in The Department Store series. Jonah Hamilton was a fun character to wrangle onto paper. He's young and hot, with no responsibilities, and very liberating for both me and Maggie Fenton! His devil-may-care attitude means when he sees something he wants, he goes for it. That includes the glamorous lady on the cosmetics counter at Kelsey's department store. She's older, and married, but that doesn't stop him from chasing her. Maggie's flattered by the attention but even Jonah doesn't anticipate her passionate response to his advances…

Blurb:

Take one younger man, add some illicit outdoor sex, and Maggie Fenton is inclined to forget she’s the oldest cosmetics girl at Kelsey’s Department Store.
From the outside, it looks as though Maggie Fenton has it all. The glamorous head of the cosmetics department lives a life of luxury, but money definitely hasn’t bought her happiness. In reality, she’s married to a serial cheat who has made her life a misery for over a decade. With her husband chasing younger women, and her teenage co-workers’ catty comments ringing in her ears, Maggie’s resigned herself to being on the scrap heap. Until Jonah Hamilton puts temptation in her way and reminds her she’s still a red-blooded woman.
Commitment is a four letter word as far as Jonah is concerned. He has no intention of settling down when he has the whole world at his feet. The only reason he takes a summer job at Kelsey’s is to fund his travels. Well, that, and the sexy older woman he can’t help flirting with over the makeup counter. Maggie soon becomes a good friend and someone who shows him how good love can be.
The chemistry between them is undeniable but is a fling enough to satisfy their desires, or is it simply the start of something bigger?

Excerpt
Jonah blinked as Maggie disappeared out of the door faster than an alcoholic to a free bar. Her husband had really done a number on her for her to have such low confidence. Her self-esteem was so fragile, one joke had shattered it to smithereens. He couldn’t let her leave like that, thinking such despicable thoughts about herself. And him.
He left the rest of his pint to give chase. He didn’t know why it mattered so much that someone he hardly knew was upset, but he didn’t want to part with her on bad terms.
I’m such a dick.
He dodged through the crowd, cursing himself. Any other sober, conscious of other people’s feelings dumbass would’ve realized she needed that reassurance her husband couldn’t give her. Instead, he’d laughed, convinced that the funny, warm, gorgeous woman with him would realize how daft she was being. Perhaps he’d been too cautious about letting his true thoughts about her be known.
All he’d done was to confirm her suspicions that she was nothing more than a has-been, when, in his experience, she was the most grounded, deeper than a fish pond, natural goddess he’d met in a long time.
He barged the heavy wooden doors open to see the smokers gathered outside in the last of the evening sun. With no sign of Maggie, he knew he’d blown it. Away from the cloud of smoke clogging his lungs, he scanned up and down Great Victoria Street. Among the student crowd, the young professionals and the theater-goers, he spotted her hot-footing it away, dabbing her eyes with a tissue.
Shit!
He sprinted after her, not really caring who he knocked out of his path, but apologizing anyway. “Excuse me. Sorry. Move!”
Her steps slowed as she approached the traffic lights, giving him time to cover the distance between them. Before she could put her foot out onto the road, he grabbed her elbow and yanked her back.
“What the hell?” She stiffened, probably ready to batter her assailant with the handbag she was gripping like a deadly weapon. Only when she saw his face did she stop resisting. With grim determination, he pulled her back the way she had come, not saying a word.
“Jonah? What’s going on? I need to go home.” The tone of her voice varied from loud, outright panic to quiet resignation. It only succeeded in driving him on in his quest.
When they reached the pub again, he dodged down the alleyway at the side. They didn’t need an audience. He pushed Maggie up against the wall, careful not to hurt her, but with enough force to stop her running again. He caged her between his body and the brick building. As she worried her bottom lip with her teeth, Jonah leaned down to catch it and draw it back out. She was soft and pliant, and her gentle scent intoxicated him further.
With a point to prove, he kissed her hard, plunging his tongue into her mouth to taste her sweetness and claim it for himself. Ordinarily, such an audacious move might’ve deserved a slap or a knee to the balls. Either would’ve been worth it. Instead, she went limp beneath him, submitting immediately. Whoa!
He stepped back. “That is how you make me feel. How you should be kissed.”
Christ, the way she had responded to it made it a double sin that someone didn’t do that to her frequently.
Maggie stared back at him, her brow furrowed and her kiss-swollen lips parted and waiting. Beer or no beer, a certain part of his anatomy sat up to say hello.
Both he and Maggie stared silently at one another. Deep down Jonah knew he should be the one to walk away this time. He’d made his point. She was attractive and he fancied her. She could file that away for future reference the next time her husband went MIA. Jonah lingered on her moist lips a while longer.
“Do it again,” he could have sworn she said.

More Jorja

Jorja is a British author, with both Irish and Scottish roots, which makes for a very dry sense of humour. A necessity when living in a country where the climate is more suitable for ducks rather than humans.

Her childhood dreams revolved around becoming an author and exploring the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. In her debut novel, 'Pyramid of Passion', she hits the jackpot when she gets to live out all of her fantasies.

By day, Jorja is a mild mannered pillar of virtue. By night, a purveyor of smut and writer of filth. Well, that's how her other half describes her, with his tongue firmly in cheek, and who is she to argue. Egged on by her crit group, UCW, she wrote this racy tale and enjoyed every hot minute of it.

Sometimes it's good to be naughty ;)

The Parchment Scroll is OUT!!!! Excerpt!!!!!!

I am super excited to announce that my new book, THE PARCHMENT SCROLL is now out!!!!!!!!!!

It's the third book in my Highland Secrets Trilogy. (Which is packed full of time travel, magic, fantasy, guys with wings and HAWT guys in kilts) *wink*

I really love this story. Don't tell my other couples, but Hugh and Jules are my fave of the series. Their story was a blast to write.

Here's the GORGEOUS cover and blurb:

Blurb:

Book Three in the time travel, fantasy romance trilogy, Highland Secrets!

Her sister is lost…in the past.

Three weeks after her sister goes missing, Juliette McGowan encounters her on a beach in Scotland. Her sister gives her a scroll full of claims about time travel and disappears—literally.

As a sister, Jules is determined to find her. As a cop, she can’t go to the authorities. The piece of parchment declares magic exists; they’d think she’s nuts.
When a mysterious woman vows she can help her get to the seventeenth century, Jules goes along with it out of desperation.

He’s an infamous barbarian…

Hugh MacDonald is intrigued when he finds a disoriented naked lass on the beach. She holds a scroll that was written by his rival’s wife. Clan MacLeod will pay ransom for her safe return, so he takes her captive.

She challenges his authority—and his desires. What started off as a plan to anger the MacLeods ends with Hugh wanting to keep her for himself.

Can Jules break free of the barbarian, find her sister and return to the future or will she give in to her attraction and desire to remain in the past?

    Excerpt:
Jules struggled to no avail. The man’s hands were like iron on her waist, and she was laid across the back of a huge black horse, so if she fought him harder, she would probably fall off and hit her head. “Let me go!” she commanded for the billionth time.

Air hit her bare ass, and she couldn’t even reach to yank the shirt down over it. He had her face-down, arms pinned, and damn horseflesh cut into her stomach, stealing her breath. Blood rushed to her head, making her pulse pound in her temples. She wiggled, but he held her tighter. “Seriously! Let. Me. Go.”

He chuckled and held on with only one of his hands.

God, he’s strong.

The guy was huge, too. She was tall for a girl, at five-ten, but this dude had towered over her on the beach. He had to be six-five or six-six, and he was broad, well-muscled, like he lived in the gym. He was hot, too, which just pissed her off. His long dark hair kissed his shoulders, and he had eyes to match.

Another breeze ruffled the shirt, shooting air up her spine. She clenched her thighs and whimpered. No doubt he could see her everything.

His grip burned through the thin linen of the tunic, but he wasn’t hurting her. Not really.

“Hope you’re enjoying the view,” Jules bit at him.

A deep chuckle teased her ears—and made her gut roil. She kicked her legs, trying to flip over and hit him. She’d always hated being restrained, even back in police academy days.

“Calm yerself lass, or ye’ll fall off my horse.”

Jules froze when she felt his big hands on her bare thighs. He brushed higher, getting closer to her girly parts, so she yanked her arm from beneath her and tried to punch his side.

The guy released the hold on her thighs—he only had two hands, after all—and she was able to get a hit in as he tried to grab her wrists.

He missed, she rolled, and clocked him in the ‘nads. Dude cursed—she guessed, it wasn’t English—and Jules took the opportunity to slip from the horse’s back. She landed so hard her bare feet shot pain all the way up to her knees, but the best part was the shock on his face.

Her captor had one hand on his crotch, and those dark eyes were wide. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, staring at her.

“Later, sucker!”

She ran. Harder than she ever had to go after a suspect. Her lungs burned, her legs seared all the way into her quads, and her feet were on fire. Maybe bleeding from the rocky terrain, but she didn’t stop to inspect them.

Hooves on her heels made her push harder.

He was yelling curses and orders from best she could tell, but Jules kept going even after she heard the thud of boots hitting the ground. She didn’t look over her shoulder to see where he was, but he was taller and had a longer stride than her, so she didn’t have a chance if she hesitated even for a second.

Hard hands seized her from behind, and then she was enveloped in his heat. He lifted her off the ground effortlessly and said nothing.

The guy stalked to the horse and threw her on its back, but this time he sat her up properly, swinging up behind her before she had time to react, or think about her bare ass on horsehair—there was no saddle. He wrapped her in his arms, and lifted her so she was sitting on his lap, then pinned her to him. The sound he made deep in his throat shot awareness down her spine and Jules squirmed.

She could feel his anger. He was seething, but he still hadn’t hurt her, despite the steel hold he had going on. His bare chest was hot against her back. And what a chest it was! Despite her own anger, her body was aware of every hard muscle, every defined line she could feel through the shirt she was wearing.

His shirt.

This story was so much fun! I hope you love it as much as I do!

Bangkok Noir Excerpt– Rated R
I picked up the little whip that Ajarn gave me to use in my act and swirled the thongs lazily around above my head. Then I stuck it between my thighs and rubbed it back and forth. Mmm. I could smell myself, as I got more and more wet.
I checked my audience. Everyone was watching me. I chose first one man, then another. I stared at each one until he was too embarrassed and lowered his head. I didn't smile, just stared. Letting them know with my eyes that I was in charge. The boss lady.
At the end of the row of benches, I noticed somebody new. A handsome farang with hair the color of straw, wearing business clothes that looked expensive. He smiled at me, a strange smile that made me feel like I was naked.
Of course, my costume doesn't hide very much. Normally, that gives me a feeling of power. Maybe I will allow them to see the hidden parts. Maybe not.
With this man, it didn't matter what I was wearing. I felt like he could see right through my clothing. Like he could see every bit of me, even if I wore street clothes. My nipples started to ache, and my G-string got more slippery than ever.
For the first time since I started working for Ajarn, I was nervous. I stumbled on my spiky heels. I almost lost my balance. Luckily, I was able to turn the mistake into a sexy dip that showed off my bare rear. Most of the customers didn't notice.
The blond man was not fooled.
My heart was beating so hard that it hurt. When I finished my dancing time, I ran into the toilet and splashed some water on my face. I crouched down, my back against the wall, listening to the chatter of the other girls. My eyes closed, I tried to follow my breathing, the way the monks taught me. All I could see was the farang looking at me, with that X-ray stare of his, like something from a science fiction movie.
I stayed in the bathroom for as long as I could. I knew Ajarn would notice if I was gone too long. Finally, I had to go back out. I peeked out from behind the curtains, trying to see if he was still there. When I saw that his seat was empty, I sighed with relief.
I headed toward the bar to get a Coke. My throat was tight and dry. Then I felt a hand on my arm. It was him. His skin was so cool, it made me shiver.
"Can I buy you a drink?" he asked. His voice was kind, and made me think of music. Still, I felt something like terror. He stared at me without blinking. Now it was me who had to look away.
Ajarn was on the other side of the room, watching us. I couldn't refuse.
"Thank you, sir. Just a moment. I go get a Coke, come back right away."
"Let me go with you," he said smoothly. He took my arm and walked me to the bar. After we got our drinks, he guided me to a table in the corner.
"Sit," he ordered. I didn't want to, not really. But what could I do? I clicked my glass against his. "Chok dee," I said. "Good luck to you."
His smile made me feel like I had eaten a meal of live butterflies. "Same to you. What's your name?"
"My name Nok. What your name?"
"You can call me Sam," he said. "Nok is bird, right?"
I nodded. He brushed my long hair off my shoulders and down my back. Then he took my chin in his hand. He raised my eyes to meet his again. I felt like I was captured. Trapped.
"Very appropriate. You're as delicate and airy as a sparrow." I thought of those caged birds they sell at the temples. You set the birds free to make merit, but they always return to their masters.
Without warning, he kissed me. His lips were as soft as his voice, at least at first. I thought I should stop him, though. I tried to pull away. His right hand held my mouth against his. His left arm wrapped around my waist. I couldn't move.
So I gave up. I let him slide his tongue into my mouth and suck the breath from me. The funny thing was, as soon as I gave in to him, I began to like it. He smelled like soap and expensive cologne. He tasted like his whiskey. I could feel that he was strong, much stronger than he looked, with his slim body and fancy clothes.
He kissed me harder, biting my lip. I felt like I was melting. He let go of my chin and played with my breasts through the stretchy mesh. My sex was on fire against the hot, sticky leather.
Suddenly, he pinched one of my nipples, digging in his fingernails. His mouth smothered my cry of surprise and pain. After the pain, though, I felt amazing pleasure, shooting up my spine like lightning.
"You like that, Nok." My English is only so-so, but I could tell he wasn't asking a question. He was telling me. And he was right.
I was terribly embarrassed. I wanted him to do it again.
He bent me backwards. My hair nearly brushed the floor. He put his mouth on the other nipple and sucked. I felt like his mouth was between my legs, sucking me there. It was heaven. I reached up, wanting to stroke him, but he pushed my hands away.
Then, when I was not expecting it, he sank his teeth into my flesh. Everything went dark for an instant. Then pain exploded in me, brilliant as the sun. I was burning up, but I wanted to burn.
When I opened my eyes, he was watching me. That strange smile was on his face, but he also looked worried. "That's enough for tonight, Nok," he murmured. "I have an appointment elsewhere. But I will come back for you, soon."
I was too dazed to say anything. He stuffed a thousand baht note into the cup with the bill, to cover two one hundred baht drinks, and stood to leave. I grabbed his shirt. Not thinking, but not wanting him to go.
"Please, sir..." He flicked his thumb across one of my aching nipples. Delicious echoes of pain rippled through me. "Be patient, Nok. Be patient and wait. Now is not your time."
Before I could say or do anything more, he was gone. I sat on the stool, confused. Ashamed. Frustrated. Sticky and dirty and smelling like a whorehouse. I buried my face in my hands, almost ready to cry.
Someone tapped me on the shoulder. "Your turn to dance again," said Lin. I nodded and stood up. I was still shaking.
"Who was that guy?" she asked. She knew that something was wrong with me.
"Just a guy," I said. I made myself sound uninterested. "Just a customer."
I paid my respects to the shrine in the corner, then climbed back onto the pedestal. I began to dance, showing off my whip to customers. Trying to look like I was in control.

Friday Feature: Imogene Nix interviews Javed from The Illuminated Witch AND GIVEAWAY!

This is so much fun! I have awesome Totally Bound author, Imogene Nix, and for the first time EVER, I have a character interview! It was so much fun!

Check it out!

Imogene wanders in, dressed in her uniform black pants, boots with exceptionally high heels and flowing black blouse. She is followed by a handsome man in his mid thirties. He’s quiet and respectful as well as immaculately dressed in an Armani suit with a stark white shirt, which highlights his Arabic heritage.
As Imogene sits down in an over stuffed chair, he takes the seat next to her. She drags an old battered notebook out of her bag and flicks through until she finds the page she’s seeking. Then she looks up.
“Thanks for meeting with us today. Javed here struggles to get away at the moment as the next is settling in.”
“Things are busy at the moment.”
C.A. nods. “Imogene, you’re sure you are happy to run the interview?”
Imogene smiles broadly. “Of course! It’s truly my pleasure.”
She turns to Javed who visibly relaxes.
“Javed, you’re the master of the first new house in a century. It’s one of those events that stand out. Can you tell us why youwere chosen to lead it?”
Javed shakes his head and appears somewhat bemused. “The honour that the Council have done me leaves me humbled. I had no expectation that something like this would happen. Off the top of my head, I could name maybe a dozen other warriors who would have better served a nest in their own right.” He is patently uncomfortable with the topic of conversation.
Imogene cocks her head to one side. “And yet, they chose you.”
With a smile, Javed inclined his head. “In shaa Allah.”
Imogene laughs lightly and gives a tiny shake of her head.
“Alright then. Tell me about the day you met your partner, Celina.”
He smiles. It’s broad and his eyes glint with remembered emotions. “I was flying into the nest offices with Hope when we landed. It was just after dusk, the time we usually start to get about. I noticed her instantly. The red hair, and her pallor. I think it was that initially. Plus there was a prickle, a bit like an electric charge that filtered through the air. Now, I know that was a wisp of magic escaping her. Anyway, when she collapsed I caught her. She’s been mine ever since.” He gives a deep rumbling laugh.
Imogene presses forward. “But you didn’t know, at that time, that you were destined to be together?”
“No. That came later.”
“But for everything that’s gone right, there is still a looming thread.”
Javed’s face shutters at this point. “There is.”
“You have plans to defeat him?” Imogene leans back into her seat.
“We do, however, as I’m sure you’ll understand, our tactics must remain hidden. After all, the fate of so many hangs in the balance.”
Imogene nods and flicks through the notebook in her hand. “Okay then. One more question then I’ll let you go.”
“Of course.”
“You were turned…”
“A long time ago. During the crusades. My sire was a knight and I was changed against my will. I had gone only into a public house to save my friends, when he took me. I don’t remember much of what happened. Afterwards, Phillipe schooled me in my new life. How to survive. How to learn about the new world I inhabited.”
“But you went home?” Imogene waits as Javed draws a deep breath.
“I did. I was married and like any person, I wanted to go home. To see my wife. But I couldn’t. She couldn’t accept the me that I’d become. I had to let her go. I carried that pain for a long time. Celina made me understand though, that I had to be tempered in order for the steel of my conviction to harden.” His gaze carries a far away look for a moment then he snaps out of his memories.
“Ahh…” He glances at his watch. “I must be gone. I have a meeting with my banker and my Yeux Secondes. You will excuse me?”
Javed stands, brushes his pants and bows deeply to both Imogene and myself, before walking brusquely away.
“He’s an amazing man. I’m so honoured to know him and Celina.” Imogene’s murmured words are met with the closing of her notepad. “I too have to hurry off. I’m meeting Celina in an hour and I still haven’t eaten.”
She gives me a brief hard hug and a kiss on the cheek, before whirling in a cloud of Chanel No.5 and heading for the door. She turns back, her hazel eyes glinting in the light. “Thanks for having me. It’s been fun.”
Then she’s gone.
