#23

During this past week's book promotions, Twin Souls made it up to #23 among the top Top 100 Free in Kindle Store on Amazon! While I hoped to have reached a higher ranking, I am beyond pleased with the results! I have made more sales this month than ever in the past :]

Destiny is coming along nicely. I was battling with a bout of writer's block but I seem to have pushed through that barrier and managed a huge chunk of words yesterday [3,248] and am continuing on today!
A friend of mine delivered a helpful message to me last night that really made me feel better about pacing myself with writing -
It's the quality of the words that count, not the quantity, don't push yourself!

That is a great message for all authors to follow :]
Also, I have two professionally made book covers in the process done by 'Keith Draws', for my upcoming epic fantasy series. They should be ready for my viewing by the end of this week - I am thrilled and cannot wait to see the outcome!

Through the Rift

As I have mentioned before, I have been working on a 'serial' series on the side, and the first novelette in the series was published today!
I spent roughly ten hours altogether designing the cover and have received several excellent comments regarding how much people like it :] Hopefully the book is enjoyed just as much - if not more!

Proof Copy!

Not only did I receive the pleasant surprise of very rare snow today, but the UPS man delivered the proof copy of my book! Now I have to go through it and make sure it's all fine and dandy before I can submit it to be available for everyone in print. Despite how unexcited  I may appear below in the picture, I truly am thrilled! :D

Approved for Print

After much designing and then re-designing in order to get the title out of the 'bleed' zone, I have accomplished being approved by CreateSpace for the print cover of Twin Souls! I will be announcing in the [hopefully] near future when it is available to order as a paperback!
Here is a preview of what it will look like :
Front Cover   Back Cover  Dust Jacket
Needless to say, I am overly excited and proud of the completed work and cannot wait to get my hands on the 'proof' copy! It will be amazing to be able to hold my very own book - something I have dreamt of for years. It may not be on the shelves in countless bookstores, libraries or houses...but one has to start somewhere.

Twin Souls - Free

My husband and I went through Twin Souls together again to fix any missed errors, add a little depth to Alexis and Salem's relationship, and a few other things. Amazon just now released the updated version, with a shiny new cover and everything. And don't forget - Twin Souls is officially permanently free now!
Also, if you hadn't noticed - I have done an extensive amount of changes to the layout of the website. The layout was initially gray and blue, but I felt it clashed, so I did a little editing here and there to make it fit my liking. I designed a header to replace the boring text that was originally up there. I am very satisfied with the outcome and think it gives you a feel of what to expect from my books!
And, on another note, I have designed a dust jacket for the print copy of Twin Souls and am waiting on Amazon to confirm whether it is 'good enough' for their standards...hopefully I will know soon! Once I do, I will let everyone know :]

My Writing Process & a Surprise

After taking roughly a week's worth of time away from writing my fourth Nevermore book, I did something I have never done with writing. I sat down and wrote a quick outline, laying everything out before me just waiting to be given depth and life.
Normally, when I begin a new story, I open up a blank document and just let the words flow out, with no intended destination - that all comes to me as I go along. But this book has so much that I needed to figure out and have as perfect as possible that I decided I needed an outline. Ever since I typed up the outline, my writing has progressed and I am happy with the direction it is heading.
To aid me in writing, I like to be surrounded by comfort - the light, gentle music from my Rock-a-bye Lullabies [if you are unaware, those are rock songs turned into 'lullabies'!], my wax burner swirling the fumes of sugared kiwi melon in the room, relaxed in my leather office chair, with all of the lights out.
I have also been toying around with Photoshop for the past day and a half [which has taken out a chunk of time that could have been spent writing, but I will forgive myself later], altering the covers of my current novels. With that being said, look out for potential cover changes in the near future.
Also...Nevermore Four officially has a title!
Be prepared for Destiny, Nevermore Book 4 this spring~

Brief Change of Course

I have hit a temporary spot of writer's block in the process of writing the fourth book in the Nevermore series. So far, I am only sixteen pages into the story! This is quite unusual for me, as the first three books were written quickly...but there are so many ways that I can write this book, and I am struggling between a few of those options.
Therefore, in the meantime, I am focusing on a different book - which I am one hundred and twenty-two pages into writing and have dedicated a lot of time to recently. Fear not, however! Nevermore shall continue, I just need to do some brainstorming and perhaps get some outside opinions from some close friends who know the way the story is headed.
I am attempting to write *at least* 1,500 words a day, whether it be in my new book, or in Nevermore

So far this month, after getting over a sinus infection, I have made a lot of progress [excluding yesterday where I didn't quite reach my goal] -
January 20 - 3,659 words January 21 - 1,575 words January 22 - 3,275 words January 23 - 1,188 words
Time to do some brainstorming, outlining, and plotting for book four. I can't keep my fans waiting for too long!

Sacrifice is Here!

The long-awaited third book in the Nevermore series is finally here!

'Enraged beyond reason at his returned wife's death, Paul has set his sights not only back on Salem, but on his own daughter Alexis as well. Having little other choice than abandoning their home, Alex, Salem, and Hannah begin to flee to an unknown location.

After a drop of Alex's blood streaks down her beloved book from her foster mother, the pages transform into a long kept secret journal. Inside what at first seems to be little more than a diary of an ancient vampire slayer, the trio find more than just hunting techniques. Locked within its pages contains hope of a cure, and a promise of a normal life.

Will Alex be able to decipher the journal and reach salvation before her vampiric side becomes too hard to control? Can Hannah really be trusted after what she has done? And is Salem really ready to sacrifice all for a normal life?'

Click the above image to purchase it through Amazon! :)

I hope you enjoy it & I am always happy to hear from my fans, so don't hesitate to send a message my way!
