World War Z Audiobook: Bruce Boxleitner
This is not the first time Mr. Boxleitner has read my words. Back in 2004, I was hired to write a few DVD extra shorts for the remake of “Dawn of the Dead.” If you’ve seen it, listen for an audio recording of the President. That’s him. My only regret was not getting a chance to meet him in person.
All that changed last year at a convention in Long Beach. I was signing at the Avatar Comics booth and suddenly looked up into the face of TRON! “Hey, can I get a signed copy of World War Z for my son?” I’m sure my stuttering response mirrored Chris Farley’s character on SNL: “Uh… um… remember when, in Babylon 5… uh… you’re awesome!”
He was very gracious, and even insisted on paying for the book.
When it came time to cast the voice of Gavin Blaire, I reached out to Mr. Boxleitner through our mutual friend, Joe Straczynski. Just like with “Dawn of the Dead,” Bruce raised my writing to a whole new level!

DEVOLUTION
A little while back, I pitched an idea to Thomas Tull over at Legendary. Turns out he was interested in the exact same subject. Although I can’t talk much about the details, the story just broke on “Devolution” yesterday.

WWZ Unabridged Audiobook: Denise Crosby Reads Mary Jo Miller
The first time I met Denise was when she read a role in my wife’s play, “Family Planning”. We’ve since become friends and she was easily my first choice to play Mary Jo. The charachter is based on a real person, an old, dear, deceased friend of my wife’s. The third anniversary of her death fell, by complete coincidence, on the day Denise read her role. It brought a whole new level of humanity to the experience of hearing Denise record the part.
