Day 129 – Words
I spent a lot of today getting my paperwork together, which is almost done. Had to tally all my bills and shit before I meet with my accountant tomorrow.
Between all that, we recorded a new Final Guys episode where we talked about my favorite movie of the year, One Cut of the Dead. That episode is posted over on the Final Guys site. Dig it.
I put down 1047 words in Don’t Blink this afternoon. Making some decent progress on it. Still aiming to finish it this week.
The accountant meeting will take most of the day tomorrow, but I’m still aiming to get a thousand words down. We shall see.
See ya tomorrow.

Day 128 – Accounting
I don’t understand our tax system. At all. Typically, I’m pretty good at figuring things out in a logical manner. Give me a problem, and I can sort through it, given enough time.
Can’t do that with taxes. Just can’t wrap my mind around it. Cause it doesn’t make any kind of sense to my brain. So I have an accountant, who saves my ass every single year. It isn’t cheap, but the service more than pays for itself. Right now, my tax situation is pretty basic, but it gets more complex each year as I add new stores I sell books through or other income sources and expenses.
We’re meeting with our guy on Wednesday, so I’m spending entirely too much time over the next two days getting my paperwork in order. I’m terrible at organizing. It’s embarrassing. Each year when we meet with him, I have to run around like an idiot getting everything together.
This is the boring crap that makes owning your own business tedious.
Anyway. I also posted a new book review on Final Guys from W. Sheridan Bradford for Exponential by Adam Cesare. I already purchased a copy of this sucker because of Sheridan’s review. Really excited to start it. Cesare is great. I have a feeling he’ll go places.
I didn’t manage as much writing today as I wanted, but still got down 519 words down. Not a great writing day, but trying not to whine about it too much. Hoping to get more down tomorrow. I say that too much. Gotta get back to no more excuses.

Final Guys #122 – Tigers Are Not Afraid
We’re crossing the border this week with the Mexican horror film, Tigers Are Not Afraid. Written and directed by Issa Lopez, Tigers Are Not Afraid stars a bunch of kids in harm’s way. Our favorite kinda foreign film.
Our weekly horror reviews are Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland, Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, Taxi Driver, Halloween (1978), Annabelle Comes Home, Double Date, All the Colors of the Dark, and The Fireman by Joe Hill.

Day 127 – Missing in Action
I’ve really been slacking with the posts the past few weeks. But on weekends like this one, when I’m not doing a whole ton of work, I’ve decided not to waste my time putting up two lines in a post.
Friday, we recorded an episode of SBIG. We might have watched two of the worst movies I’ve ever seen back to back. It was a mind-blowing experience. Honestly, I have no idea how the episode will even come out, because we barely had anything to talk about.
Saturday, I went to a beer festival. So yeah… no work that day.
Today, I watched football like I always do, but I managed to sneak in 1800 words in Don’t Blink. I absolutely have to get this sucker finished this week, so I can get back to the sixth book in The Hunger. Plus, I want to have some time to get Don’t Blink published by Halloween. I also synced all the footage for SBIG.
It’s not an enormous amount of work, but we actually have a lot of footage that goes into an episode. We have the movie files, our reactions to it, the audio of our reactions, the discussion, and the audio of the discussion. All that has to be normalized and synced. Kind of annoying actually. But I did that this morning.
So that’s it for this weekend. 1800 words and an episode of SBIG. Not the most productive weekend, but a fun and relaxing one.
See ya tomorrow.

Day 126 – Short Story
Another short one today, because it’s late and I’m tired. I wrote more of the short story today and… that was about it. Tomorrow, we’re filming one or two episodes of SBIG, so that it’ll be a ton of fun.
I don’t like most modern comedies, so I get my laughs by trying to find hilariously bad films. Can’t say what we’re watching yet, because we haven’t decided. But I’m rooting for The Howling 7. I’ve never seen it and I’ve heard it’s incomprehensibly bad.
I might have time to get a thousand words in before we start, but maybe not. Might not have time to blog tomorrow either. Depends on how many movies we watch and how much I have to drink during them.
Coming up, I’ll go over my release. What worked, what didn’t, and some of the conclusions I’ve drawn from it. Most of what I’d speculated leading up to it about Amazon being pay-to-play seem to be true.
Catch ya later.

Day 125 – A New Short
Just a quick accountability post today. I started a new short, tentatively titled Don’t Blink, that I’m hoping to finish by the end of the week. I really need to be working on The Hunger #6, but this idea is grinding away in my mind.
That and I’d like to have something to publish around Halloween. Kind of a good idea, being a horror author and all.
I managed about 800 words on it. Hoping to get quite a bit more tomorrow.
See ya then.

Day 124 – Back to the Grind
Just a short post today, because I didn’t much worth writing about. I jumped back into the sixth book in The Hunger. Because it had been a bit since I’d worked on it, I had to go back a few chapters and read through them. I ended up changing a few little things, which led to a few other things.
Which led into doing more work than anticipated. I only managed a few hundred new words, but things are looking pretty good from here. We’ll see how it goes.
Tomorrow should see some more words on the page.
I also recorded, edited, and uploaded the newest Final Guys. I’ll post the episode here tomorrow.
And finally, I’m kicking around a few short story ideas I can crank out in a few days. I’d like to have something to release around Halloween. We’ll see if any of them grab me enough to work on.
See ya tomorrow.

Day 123 – Not Dead
I’m still here. Just decided to take it easy for a few days, let this damn cold run it’s course. Writing of the new book will commence tomorrow. I’ll start talking about the specifics of this lackluster (as partially expected) release and what I’ll do going forward.
All I did over the weekend was post a new book review of Blanky for Final Guys and write my own movie review of Ma. Check ’em out.
That’s all for now. Back to your regularly scheduled BS tomorrow.

Day 119 – Rest
Since yesterday saw the release of Decayed, I wanted to take a day off. So I did. Back to writing book 6 tomorrow.
But first, here is the newest episode of Final Guys. We discussed Satanic Panic, a really fun indie film. I also finished the A Nightmare on Elm Street series and gave my thoughts on the final films and the entire run in general.
Anyway, that’s it for today. See ya tomorrow.
