On this day in Tudor history
August 22 is an important day in Tudor history! Beginning, of course, with this date in 1485 when Henry Tudor defeated Richard III at Bosworth Field and founding the Tudor dynasty.
Since that day, historians and enthusiasts have been debating whether Henry or Richard was the villain in that story!
William Brandon was one of the men killed at Bosworth, fighting for Henry Tudor. His son, Charles Brandon, served Heny's son throughout his life and died exactly 60 years after his father, on 22 August 1545.
