My son needed a new soccer ball and went shopping at the Soccer Shop for said inflatable with his grandpa earlier this summer. He was 6 at the time. He is my son without a doubt…

Grandpa: “What kind of ball do you want… we’ve seen a lot of balls. Let’s try to narrow it down a little.”

Logan: “There are a lot of balls. I’m picky.”

Grandpa: “Yes there are a lot of balls here. That’s why we should narrow it down.”

Logan: “We keep saying ‘balls’ a lot. It’s kind of inappropriate.”

Grandpa: “We’re not talking about those kind of balls though.”

Logan: “I know but it still sounds inappropriate.”

—-silence—-

Logan: “My dad has hair on his balls.”

Grandpa: spit-take… “What?”

Logan: “Not a lot, but some.”

Grandpa: “I don’t think that’s a conversation we should be having.”

Logan: “Yep. Probably inappropriate right?”

Grandpa: “Yes. Definitely.”

Logan: “I’m not talking about soccer balls anymore.”

Grandpa: “I know. Let’s get back to the soccer balls please.”

I vote based on who it's gonna piss off...

I have no political party. I have no agenda.

I just vote for whoever is gonna piss off my family and neighbors.

I’m in rural Ohio. I pass 4 billion Romney signs from work to home planted 3 wide in front lawns surrounded by 4x4 pick up trucks where you can barely see the gun rack in the back glass because there are so many Mossy Oak and Calvin pissing on various thing stickers in the way… and corn.

And I do vote. If I say I did or I’m gonna then I do.

I could care less one way or the other in the grand scheme of things. The best part about Obama being elected was for the first time the United States was viewed by many around the world as finally making a progressive step forward. The economy, the healthcare, the party politics… none of it really means shit. We voted in a black President. America was finally growing up and looking past the groomed rich white guy in charge.

Tomorrow? Who knows. We’ll either have something to bitch about, something to be proud of or someone to blame our problems on.

Either way, the above works for half of us half of the time, and the other half the rest.
