7 Things Non-Coffee Drinkers Are Tired of Hearing
I grew up seeing my dad drink his cup of coffee every single morning. My nanny, on the other hand, would drink one in the morning and another at around 5PM. I remember asking if I could take a sip and she would always say, "coffee is not for kids; it will stunt your growth." My very first Starbucks purchase was a vanilla frappe a.k.a. milkshake, which my dad ordered for me because I still wasn't allowed to that much caffeine. It was my default order all through high school until I've discovered in college that I can add syrups (hazelnut is my fave) and tweak drinks to my liking. And because I was "sheltered" from caffeine consumption half of my life, I never had those nights needing a coffee fix and simply gave in to sleep when it started calling me.

From Our Readers: When I Thought We Did The Right Thing
You have no idea what it's like to be in my place. The night you told me that the best thing was for us to go to our separate ways was the night I told myself that I'll be fine on my own, as I was before you. But I wasn't. It wasn't the same anymore.
Those sleepless nights where I don't do anything but cry over you. Those nights all I did was to re-read our messages and think what I did wrong to be left alone. Those days where I had to sit next to you and pretend that it's ok for me to not hug nor hold your hand anymore. Or those days where I usually just jump for joy because of happiness when I'm with you.
...12 Things Everyone Promises to Do More at the Start of the Year
We always start the year with a hopeful heart, crossing our fingers that the coming days will be better and brighter for us. We promise to be more, do more, live more. But do we really do everything we can to fulfill those promises we make? In an effort to make each of us accountable for each other, we've put together a list of resolutions we end up listing down every year and concrete steps towards achieving those goals. Let us know how it works for you and keep on becoming a better you!
Eat healthier
This usually comes out of guilt after a full month of bingeing on holiday treats. But if you're going to resolve to eat healthier, there are many ways to follow-through. Start by simply introducing more fresh fruit and vegetables into your diet. You don't need to do it all at once, too. P.S. Starving yourself doesn't count as healthy eating!
Save more
When you're on a break, you realize that your allowance isn't really enough to last you more than a couple of weeks. But if you start saving a small amount every time your get your allowance, you'll find that you'll end up saving more! Instead of spending it all in one go (say, for that denim skirt you've been eyeing at the mall), divide your savings into money that will go to the bank, to your travel fund, and shopping money. The list can be longer depending on what you want to save your money for!
Exercise regularly
During the first few months, you'll find yourself rushing to get into your running clothes every day till you give up and end up not exercising at all! The trick is to develop a habit: running once a week, doing yoga once or twice a month, getting into a sport in school. If doing the same thing over and over again bores you, try to change up your routine so you can keep at it.
Stop eating junk
Who can resist an order of fries? Or a really juicy burger? If you want to eat healthier (see #1), this is probably on your list of resolutions, too. While we're all for it, let's be realistic here. Sometimes, you can't help but treat yourself to the familiar taste of your fave fast food fried chicken. If you want to slowly ease out of your fast food junkie habits, try to look for alternative recipes that satisfy the craving but don't necessarily give you empty calories.
Are you gunning for 52 books this year? That's 1 entire book every week. Have you factored in the time you need for studying, doing your extra-curricular activities, and other recreational pastimes? If you want to get in more reading time, why don't you start a book club like Emma Watson?
Do better in school
Not getting ace marks in your acads? Maybe it's time to put a little more effort into studying. Try to assess why you're not doing so well. Is it because you're not listening in class? Are you having a hard time figuring out your notes? If it helps, enlist a friend to be your study buddy to keep you in check. Figure out the best time and place for you to get some reviewing done.
Dress better
This doesn't necessarily mean a complete wardrobe overhaul. We recommend taking a look at your closet first and sort the clothes you already have. You might be surprised to see some of your old favorites just waiting to be worn out again. Sometimes, it's just a matter of organizing your closet and getting better at mixing and matching your current wardrobe.
Take better care of your skin
Buying even the most expensive skin care products won't really be enough if you don't learn the basics. Keep your skin hydrated (moisturize and drink water!) and sleep early are just a few of the most important rules when it comes to taking care of your skin.
Lose weight
Maybe you think crash diets before a trip to the beach are a quick fix, but this does more harm to your body than good. Developing a habit of eating clean and well (#1 and #4) paired with a good fitness regimen (#3), will help you to be healthier and fit. Don't concentrate on losing weight, rather focus on being strong and healthy!
Travel more
If you want to go on trips, you need to plan and budget ahead! Start small, like a road trip with your best friends. Planning ahead also means you get to save extra when you book promo fares or get discounted rates for tours and accommodations.
Pick up a new hobby
Take turns in your barkada for planning a regular Learn Something New day. Sign up for a watercolor painting workshop one month, go and watch a broadway play another. It doesn't seem as daunting when you're not cramming 5 different activities in one month. And since you're doing it with friends, you won't get lazy at the last-minute!
Spend more time with family and friends
And we don't mean just Sunday lunch and recess. Take your mom on a date or watch a movie with her. Volunteer at your local community center with your friends. Offer to babysit your niece or nephew for free. Book a cultural tour or photo walk with your boyfriend. Do something you wouldn't normally do with someone special to you. Make your time together extra meaningful!

26 Other Names That Would've Been Okay For Freddie Tomlinson
Earlier today, while we were having lunch here at the Candy HQ, we talked about Louis Tomlinson's baby's name. We were trying to figure out if he and Briana Jungwirth really gave him the name Conchobar (OMG LOL!) and if they did, WHY.
Suddenly, we started talking about names for Baby Boy Tomlinson that we thought would sound loads better than Conchobar Tomlinson. We thought of 26 names (one for each letter of the alphabet!), and we're now planning to send this to Louis, just in case they haven't fully committed to Freddie Reign yet.

5 Signs You Need A New Wardrobe This 2016
There are many reasons why people decide to gather up all their old clothes and set up a garage sale. When you're staring at your closet going through each and every article of clothing you have and yet you still end up feeling frustrated for not knowing what to wear, maybe it's time for a makeover.
Having a full closet and still saying, "I can't find anything to wear!"
Have a ton of clothes and still, you can't find a single thing to wear? Girl, that's a red light right there. If you can't find anything, it just means that you simply do not really like the clothes you have. Remember, quality over quantity is paramount. It doesn't matter how many clothes you have stacked in your drawers, if having all those items and yet you still feel undecided, lost, and frustrated when you're picking an outfit, then it's time for a major closet makeover.
They barely fit.
There's a difference between having a shirt look small (and cute) enough to be a crop top on you and a shirt that you think will rip with just the slightest raise of your arms. If your clothes don't fit, whether they're all too small or too big, it's time to rethink placing them back inside your closet.
You can't mix and match outfits anymore.
If you've gone through every possible combination there is in the universe and yet you still can't find the best outfit, it's the universe telling you that you need to revamp your wardrobe. Some clothes go out of style, maybe that's one reason why you can't really match that skirt with that top.
You don't feel comfortable in them.
Rachel Zoe once said, "Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." Comfort should always go first, so if you're feeling a bit uneasy with what you're wearing then no one will really be able to appreciate the outfit that you're sporting. What makes someone look striking is confidence, so if you don't feel confident wearing something, then don't. If you don't feel like you, change your closet.
Damaged beyond repair
Don't settle. If your clothes have holes in them, it's time to give them away. Clothes also have expiration dates, the more you wear, the more they tear but don't feel bad when you're favorite shirt is off to the goodbye section, it's enough to know that while it was still wearable, you made really good use of it.

From Our Readers: To the One Who Doesn't Know I Exist
I don't care if this love is hurting me. I don't even care about you not knowing my existence. I won't mind, even if I knew from the very start that these feelings of mine would always remain hidden, unknown, and unrequited.
I'll keep you a daydream away. Just watch from a safe place so I'll never have to lose, says the song lyrics that I've been listening for years. It has already been 4 years since I laid my eyes on you. It was just a simple crush and I never thought that I'd end up falling in love with you. I never even thought that I'd be hurting this much because of you, because of someone who doesn't even know I exist.
