From Our Readers: I Lost the Game of You and Me

I could still clearly remember when you used to tell me that the most wonderful thing in the world is to love and to be loved in return, without asking for it. It became my mantra; you became my forté.

You were my great love and my greatest downfall. You loved me the best way you could and I always knew that the love you have for me breaks boundaries. And I loved you too. In the best way possible and in a way I knew how to.

From Our Readers: To the Guy Who Constantly Breaks My Heart

We were together. We were. Then suddenly you left me with no reason. And I can't seem to move on because I'm still holding on to the faith that you'll come back soon. I thought what we had was real, but turns out that it wasn't for you.

Years have gone by and you're still the only one I think about. I have met tons of guys and still my heart belongs to you. It hurts so bad seeing you happy with someone else and all I can do is to pretend that I'm happy for you. I know deep down in my heart that I need to let you go. I really need to. But something is really holding me back, and I can't figure it out.

15 Mantras to Live by This Year

I have decided that this will be a ridiculously amazing year.
Your mindset plays a large role in how your year will go, begin with a positive outlook and accept any opportunity and challenge you'll face this year.

Change your thoughts and you'll change the world.
Be open to global issues whether it’s environmental or women-centered. Take a stand by showing it in simple ways like bringing your own reusable bag or drink bottle to lessen your waste.

This year, I will become stronger, braver, kinder, and unstoppable. This year I will be fierce.
Affirm positive change in yourself by chanting this every morning and you will feel the energy to accomplish what you want.

Happiness isn't size-specific.
Make a mental note of all the blessings in your life and check, even little things can bring great joy. You just need to take time to notice them.

Don't let your mind bully your body.
Be kind to others but especially to yourself, you'll find the harshest critic within you and sometimes you need to let yourself breathe.

I am strong, I am beautiful, I am enough.
Because you simply are! Saying this out loud every time you feel stressed, down or hopeless will give you a positive boost, try it!

Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.
If you go after what you’re passionate about you'll realize why it never worked out on anything else.

What is coming is better than what is gone.
Forget any regret or missed chance, keep looking ahead to the new opportunities in the horizon.

Don't be pushed by your problems; be led by your dreams.
You will always encounter a problem, it's almost a fact. But instead of letting it anchor you down, keep a clear mental picture of your goal and you'll find that no matter how many problems you come across, you will push through.

Interrupt anxiety with gratitude.
I personally found this to be truly helpful especially in moments of stress or restlessness; reminding yourself of what you should be thankful of is a great way to calm down and achieve peace.

I forgive myself and set myself free.
You may have had a mistake in the past that’s hard to let go, but don't you think it's about time? Ask yourself how long you’ll hold onto it, the burden is not worth it. Give yourself a chance to be better.

Progress not perfection.
There's always room for improvement but when you compare yourself to perfection, you'll never be satisfied. Instead, measure your progress over a certain time and tell yourself, "I'm good and I'll be better."

I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness.
Don't be easily affected by other's negativity, remove yourself from that space and remind yourself that you don't need to feel the same way. Stay positive!

Be the boss.
This year is an opportunity to be the boss, whether as a group leader at school or simply deciding what career path you want to take on. Be the boss.

Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.
Memorize this because it will be your positive mantra through any year! It's a good reminder to accept change in a positive way.

From Our Readers: I'm Setting You Free

Every time I see you, I remember all the things we've done. All the love we've share and the day you left me with tears and pain. Oh how selfish I was for letting you go. Until now I can still feel your breath, your hands touching mine, and your hug just to give warmth. You know how much it hurts but I need to make this a memory. A memory that I need to burn from my mind so I can sleep peacefully at night. A memory that needs to be forgotten. But I will still treasure every moment I had with you in my heart. That someday you might come back.

Style Files: Retlyn Ceballos

Name: Retlyn Ereca C. Ceballos
Age: 16
City: Cebu City
School: University of Southern Philippines Foundation

My style. Independent is the best word to describe my style since I don't stick to one style. My style depends on my mood, the weather, and the specific occasion. Sometimes I go minimal, preppy, boyish, or bohemian.
Shopping faves. I usually shop at Topshop, Penshoppe, H&M, Forever 21, and some online shops.
Style icon. I really love the style of Kendall Jenner and CL of 2ne1. They are so classy and fab!
Style influence. K-Pop, magazines, and social media particularly Facebook and Instagram.
Closet colors. 70% black and white and 30% for colored and printed pieces. I really love black and white because it is very easy to pair.
Fave accessory. My glasses since I can't see clearly without my glasses and I feel incomplete without my glasses!
Never wearing. Anything that has animal prints. I just really don't feel comfortable in them.
Trendy return. Combat boots or anything from the '70s would be really great!
Best bargain. A Forever 21 crop top which I bought online for only P180. It is a really good deal since the top is worth P800 in the physical store in Forever 21
Vintage love. My mom's white denim skirt. She bought it when she was a teenager but now it's with me.

7 Reasons Why It's Totally Okay to Like Wearing Makeup

There has been a lot of rampant "makeup shaming" going on lately. Sometimes we tend to judge people based on their dolled up appearances. From Our Readers: To the Guy Who Makes Me Feel Heartbroken

It has been six months. Six months from the day you said you can't take it and you don't want to be with me anymore. That day, I didn't know what to even feel and I just felt like my world stopped and I couldn't breathe. It hurt like hell because I didn't know the real reason why you stopped loving me. Was it because I was too clingy? Was I not good enough? Did you get tired of me already? Or was it because you already had someone new? I didn't know.

The Celebrities To Watch This Year

Celebs to watch for 2016

1. Maine Mendoza

Breaking records one after the other, we're certain that we still haven't seen the best of what Maine Mendoza can offer. Just a few days ago, she even bagged the Best Supporting Actress plum at the Metro Manila Film Festival this year, winning over veterans and other more experienced actresses. Maybe a TV show, another movie, and more magazine covers await our Dubsmash Queen for next year?
