I have read quite a few reviews that talk about the unrealistic nature of Melissa and the aftermath of her rape and would like to address that issue. If you remember during the scene where the rape occurs, Melissa was knocked unconscious and has no idea the rape actually occurs until Aria tells her in the hospital. So, the question becomes... when you have no memory of an event actually happening and only third party word of mouth as to its existence, do you really dwell on it or continue moving forward?
