An avid fan of myths and fantasy, I have always had a passion for reading and writing. My background includes an M.A. in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University as well as an M.A. in industrial/organizational psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I’ve also achieved PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. I instruct adult learners in resume development, and work as a full time recruiting manager. In addition, I am also an amateur cartoonist, having taken classes at the Art Institute of Chicago.

The one thing I still remember as an amazing reality experience at the school I attended (CSOPP for short) was a battery where they placed you in a "life in a day" scenario - you came into a room setup with a laptop and an "in" box with memos and assignments as if it was a real job and you are then told your boss just quit - so you had to complete these "leftover" assignments, do research for a white paper, and present with your peers before a panel - all within a limited time frame. The most nerve shattering "exam" I ever took - but worth it in regards to preparing you for the "real world".

Anyway, thanks so much for liking the series! Would love to hear your thoughts on what you enjoyed most. I have just submitted Book Five, Knighthood's End, to my editor - so the time frame will probably be around October or so. It brings the end of the Sir Rutt subplot, the supposed "curse" subplot, and takes Qualtan's growing discomfort with the Order of the Bearded Lion (and daresay his growing arrogance) to an extreme measure with what happens in this story. There will be a contest at some point to pinpoint the first appearance of a certain character that plays a big role in this book, so be on the lookout for that.(less)

Another great author, another great interview - with Lisa Maggiore!

Adding to my continuing quest to showcase fellow authors from the many events I've participated in is an interview with Lisa Maggiore, author of the Ava the Monster Slayer series (among other works). Dust off those wanderer's boots, feel at-ease with your sword-arm, and read on...

Hi Lisa - thanks again for taking the time to be interviewed! Let’s begin with telling us a little bit more about who L Read more of this blog post »

Hugo Negron With a tentative release date of summer 2012, I invite you to my first novel, Forging of a Knight (cover design by up and coming illustrator Lora Lee - http://www.loraart.com).

Visit http://www.facebook.com/Forging.of.a.... and "Like" the page to follow the book's progression. It will be available through amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com (iPad, NOOK, and Kindle distribution), and directly through lulu.com and me for hard copy availability.

Here are some excerpts from the back cover:

A battle against the forces of Those That Stand in Shadow brings an end to an old hero and a beginning for a new one. Together with a half-orcne thief named Glaive, a young warrior named Qualtan must battle through undead hordes, shape-shifting maugs, hungry trolls, and more on his journey to become a knight. Along the way, he learns the world isn’t as simple as he first thought. Good and evil are not always what they seem, close friends can be deadly enemies, and loyalty can sometimes be rewarded with treachery. Even if Qualtan can grow from these lessons, a greater one will need to be faced: can an unexpected friendship with a thief of orcne blood, despised by all, support his chance for knighthood, or ruin it altogether?

"I so enjoyed this book! So vivid, so well crafted, I was immersed in the story from the beginning and found it was a very satisfying, entertaining read. So imaginative, there was really not one plot point that I predicted, and that's amazing. The other great thing is the pacing. It really flows quite well, and I didn't feel bogged down in the action ever." - Erin Potter, Shamrock Editing

Thanks for your support!

Best,

- H
