Kris stepped away from the screech, tripped over a limb and fell hard on her butt. Air rushed from her lungs. She choked and coughed. Looking to the left, she spied a small rectangular window at ground level.A basement.Due to the elevated water table, most houses in Louisiana didn’t have basements. She hadn’t even looked for it when searching earlier. Scrambling on all fours, rushing toward the house over twigs and rocks, Kris didn’t think, only zoned in on possible freedom. She hunched over the window casement, prying the sill open only a few inches but no more. The mist pulled on her body. Full whiteness surrounded her. Fuck.She pounded the wood frame with her palms.Think damn it. Focusing her will, she allowed the wolf to enhance more strength into her body. With agonizing pain, her fingernails elongated, sinking into the petrified wood. Panic rose within her, making graceful not an option. She tore the window off its hinge with hast, slipped beneath the frame and dropped several feet, landing on her side on the dirt surface below. Her ribs smacked a rock. Dust billowed in mushroom clouds. She sucked in a breath and coughed the powdered grime out of her lungs.The dim light made it difficult to make out the interior. A hodge-podge of boxes, broken furniture and ancient tools were scattered across the floor. Two old coal fire pits consumed an entire wall, cold sentinels to a time past.Kris groaned, wincing when she wiggled to lean on an elbow. She took a quick inventory of her bruised body. Her butt and side were sore from the tumbles. Coppery blood filled her mouth from biting her tongue. Otherwise, nothing broken, just some scratches and minor cuts that would heal on their own.Old mold and dampness, with a hint of death, floated in the air. The wet, chilled basement air goose bumped her body. Everything that could pucker did into painful peaks. Her teeth chattered. Kris stifled a shudder, and rubbed her hands on her arms. The house swelled and shifted with the rising currents enveloping the outside, moaning and creaking before settling back onto its natural foundation. Fog crept in through the now-unprotected window. Her heart pounded faster than a jackhammer. Her palms sweat more than a person being drilled for information captured in a third world country, and her mind went blank. What could she do to escape? Coming to her feet with lightning speed, Kris stood, arms akimbo, looking around. She needed to find a way out, and fast. It hadn’t been her smartest move to go into the house, rather than sprint to the front and back over the gate. Too late now. Such foolishness. Her only excuse was scattered Jack-In-The-Box thoughts over the jeopardy popping up in her life. Poor judgment in her book. Now angry and confused, the combination didn’t work well in her mind.She needed an exit. Looking up, she spotted a narrow flight of stairs and a door to the first level. Kris took the stairs two at a time. She covered her nose and mouth to not breathe in the malevolence trailing her in a ghost form.

Reborn begins with promised love and raw passion of endless powers, and ends with a mission. Daniel Webb brought his girl back to life with this gift. Everything finally catching up and weighs heavy…his powers ignite once again.
With no idea where to go or what to do, Daniel finds himself in a forest. On a whim, tries to summon the power of fire once more. All is cut short when he realizes he’d been followed. Daniel finds his way to the local bar called “The Pub.” His ex-girl is locked lips with another man. Before a fight breaks out, an unnamed, sexy woman approaches, dragging Daniel away from the heated situation. Things between Daniel and the nameless lady he later learns her name is Alyssa, heats up in a sexy, wicked kind of way.
Days later, on a short temper, about to light his fuse, Daniel finds himself in a cemetery. His powers return hot and heavy, leaking from his body. Sarelia, the spirit elder who gave him the powers in the first place visits Daniel. Daniel learns he’d lost all of his powers. Sarelia offers to replace the power. He grows hungry for it. In return for the gift she wants Daniel to obey her as her sex slave. Somehow finding himself to agree to the terms, he drinks her sweet essences. Filling him once again with the power he craved so much. He gains enough in hopes to wing himself clean.
While dousing in sex with the elder spirit, he fantasies about the new girl he met, Alyssa. He hopes the elder hadn’t seen what Alyssa looked like in his mind and would search for her. Daniel didn’t want to jeopardize Alyssa’s life.
No way to contact Alyssa to warn her, she shows at his doorstep. Alyssa explains that she knows what is happening to Daniel. He doesn’t buy it. They squabble. After learning the truth from her, Alyssa offers Daniel help to hone the beastly powers. He accepts with two stipulations. One, he wouldn’t call her sensei or Mistress, and two they had to have sex breaks often.

I wrote my first story at age 8. It was sci-fi but as both my parents were sci-fi fanatics it wasn’t a surprise.I continued to write however life got in the way as it often does, and it wasn’t until 2000 that I turned back to writing. I joined a local writer’s workshop and was greatly encouraged to keep up with my writing and to send things out.Shortly afterwards, I was selected by Northwest Playwrights of England for further development but found I preferred fiction writing.Widely published in horror and sci-fi anthologies, The House on Blackstone Moor is my first novel. It is a tale of vampirism, madness, obsession and devil worship.Set in 19th Century Yorkshire, its locales include Victorian madhouses as well as barren, wind-swept Yorkshire moors. The story is a marriage of horror and gothic romance. I think it can best be described as being gothic paranormal romantic horror.I suppose you could say I want to put the Goth back into Gothic.Living in the area the novel is set in, was very beneficial. Also, as a great admirer of the Brontes and frequent visitor to the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth, I found myself nearly obsessed with recreating the gothic romantic narrative.Having been employed in a hospital which had been historically a workhouse and asylum in Victorian times, I was able to add great realism to the depiction of the asylums as described in my novel.The sequel, Unholy Testament, is the confession of a demon to the woman he loves. It is nearing the end of its first draft and will be released shortly.

Lani Rhea's related to a famous author?!?!

Years ago I signed up for the 14 day FREE trail with Ancestry.com. I listened closely to my father, since I searched his side of the tree. I didn’t want to get anything he said wrong. The leafs at Ancestry are wonderful little triggers of help, too. Delighted to see who was related to me, but surprised to learn a famous author graced my family tree, I had to continue... 
Once you have a good string of family members branched out, there’s any option to select to find out which famous person you’re kin to. The adventurous soul I am clicked the option to discover. 
I learned Presidents of the United States and/or was related to their family were in my line: Robert Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon. A forefather who helped discover America. Judy Garland with Wizard of Oz. So many wonderful people I’ve read about in text books or watched on TV and I never knew until Ancestry. 
Now to the good part... 
I’m proud to announce I’m third cousins, twice removed from Jane Austen. How freaking fab is that!? Fantastic! I had happy feet when I saw Jane and I shared a something great grandmother up the line. 
I can say I literally have writing in my blood!

Even the little town named Wright City, Oklahoma is named after her third great uncle.

Camri Burns, an ambitious real estate agent, continually finds herself at odds with her sexy co-worker, Jackson Pratt, who somehow always manages to take credit for her hard work. Disgusted with herself for her overwhelming attraction to the man, Camri often finds herself verbally sparring with Jackson despite her efforts to avoid him, while his buddies in the office look on in amusement, although it is usually Jackson who instigates things.

When Camri suddenly finds herself coerced into signing a contract partnering her with Jackson for some new real estate venture with The Ark Hotel, little does she realize what she is getting herself into. When she discovers she has unwittingly involved herself in challenging and unique sexual encounters with complete strangers, she shocks Jackson by holding herself to her contract, much to his surprise and dismay.

As Camri resigns herself to the challenges put to her, she soon learns that Jackson is unwilling to share her with another, as she had expected, and that he may have something even more shocking in store for her. Something that will tantalize her and keep her satisfied in more ways than one.

THE ARK HOTEL: UNDER BONDED CONTRACT is a well-written, pleasurable romp through the contemporary real estate world.

Camri is ever the spunky, assertive, gorgeous heroine one would expect in a novel of this caliber. And Jackson is the arrogant hunk the reader would expect as the hero. Both characters are an incredibly fun duo, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about them.

While the scenes are incredibly spicy and quickly heat things up in THE ARK HOTEL: UNDER BONDED CONTRACT, there is a great plot as well. The conflict between Jackson and Camri is understandable and believable, and it doesn’t take long to relate to their situation. Any normal human being would be similarly upset as Camri was at having been burned by Jackson in the past, taking credit for her work. The fact that Jackson tried setting up his former flame again in an almost shocking way, will make any reader empathize with Camri’s plight.

The admirable way she overcomes her situation brings a smirk of satisfaction to the reader as Camri makes every effort to fulfill her contract obligations as well as get even with Jackson for his earlier behaviors toward her.

The characters in THE ARK HOTEL: UNDER BONDED CONTRACT are strong and believable. The story moves fast and keeps you turning the pages to see what will happen next, and the happy ending is done tastefully well and makes the reader feel good.

For a fast read and a strong story, THE ARK HOTEL: UNDER BONDED CONTRACT is a definite summer read. So pull out the loungers and kick back with some iced tea or lemonade. THE ARK HOTEL: UNDER BONDED CONTRACT is guaranteed to heat things up for you...and in a very pleasant way.
