S.H.E.S

Evil lives among us and has once again shaken us to our core. We shall defeat it, ALL of us must do our part.

Listen, hear, talk, help, respect, pray, teach, learn, love, live, smile, laugh and most of all forgive.

Forgiveness is the only way to move on, understanding in times such as this it's also the most difficult and painful of things to do.

May God bless and bring peace to the Sandy Hook community and our lives.

'Tis the Season

Ho ho ho and all that good stuff, hope the holiday season has been good to you and your families thus far. I've just noticed it's been over a month since my first time I reached out here on Goodreads when I thought it was just two weeks ago, been very busy I guess :)

That's how we get right, very busy. Too busy to take time to enjoy a time of year that should be and IS very special. As a matter of fact, by the time Christmas day rolls around we are all so tired we can't wait to get through it and put an end to all of the getting together with family and friends along with all of this holiday cheer in general. Why is that I ask?

Are our lives so rich that we can't wait to get back to them? (For your sake I hope that's the case.) Or is it that we have lost our way when it comes to Christmas and all of the "chores" that come with it?

Do me a favor, sit down in your favorite chair with your favorite blanket to keep you warm at some point between now and Christmas and just spend a few minutes with yourself. Think about how lucky you are to have friends, family, a favorite chair along with that blanket to keep warm. You see, there are a lot of folks that have nothing. I'm not asking you to spend hours upon hours obsessing about them, I'm asking you not to forget how lucky you are and remember those who are less fortunate. Isn't that what the holiday season is about, giving thanks and giving? Try doing it as a group with family and friends, now that's one holiday party everyone will enjoy :)

Happy holidays to all!
Mike

Allow Me To Introduce Myself...

My name is Michael Weber and today is like any other day, I'm at the computer trying desperately to concentrate on what it is I'm doing while my twin almost 5 year old girls, Kayla & Jessica, scream and yell at each other while playing "Word Girl" all over the house. I wouldn't trade it for anything :)

That's me, father to two girls, husband to one wonderful women and author of two kids books. Humor and laughter are essential to me making it through from one day to the next, and that's why I wrote my books the way I did. To make folks laugh, all folks, kids and parents! Why shouldn't we enjoy the books since we spend so much time reading them together with our children. Night after night I hear nothing but fairy tales about a princess who finds her prince while kissing a beast and they live happily ever after. Not only is it not funny, it's not true. Well...., I guess it is, but the beast looks like me and guess what.... after a big smooch from you I'm still going to look the same, AND you will be married to me forever!!! My point is life is not a fairy tale and we all know it. Why not mix in a dose of reality every now and again :)

That brings me to my latest book, The Girl Who Sniffed Too Much.

The Girl Who Sniffed Too Much by Michael J. Weber This story is about a young lady named Suzie who repeatedly ignores her father's warnings about sniffing things and in the end pays a price for not listening. I will tell you this, the price is surprising and not typical for a "children's book" but it is reality. I know, I'm living it!! So, what I'm saying is this book might not be for you, I don't know, but it is entertaining! If you are super serious and feel laughter is not the best medicine but the worst, not for you. If you feel your children are angels and will never hear the word "butt" or let out a toot, this books not for you. Everyone else, go for it, I'm telling you it's entertainment ;)

Book #1 is a different beast altogether, very entertaining.

We Made Mommy Mashed Potatoes by Michael J. Weber

The characters of Tator and Tot are based on my girls and anyone who has had children will instantly relate to this story. As a matter of fact, if you have not had children you might think that Tator & Tot have behavioral issues when in reality it's just kids being kids.

Please see my Goodreads author page Michael J. Weber or go to www.michaelweberbooks.etsy.com to learn more about my books and me, don't want to bore you with too many details here. Well, that's it. This is what I got today, I'm off for a walk to try and wipe the slate clean and start over again in the morning. Always remember, learning can be fun and laughter is good for the soul.
