What a fascinating and very different kind of thriller! First, I must say that I'm relatively new to audiobooks - I actually prefer reading - but this story grabbed me and pulled me in. Michael, a brilliant software developer, stumbles upon the body of a murdered woman, a dancer whose name was Lace. Author Poznansky uses her usual, gorgeous lyricism to describe Michael's painstaking programming in his search to discover what happened to Lace. Helping him is the woman he loves, the beautiful Ash, herself a programer and assault victim.
Virtually Lace is astonishing, very enjoyable. Thank you to Ms. Poznansky for creating this thrill ride, and to the wonderful Don Warrick for his beautiful narration. I was given this audiobook at my request and am happy to leave this review. 5 stars!

Why isn’t he here? He owes me a kiss!
The nurse goes to the foot of the bed, where she hangs something—my chart?—which sways back and forth a couple of times, singing on a nail. Then she leans over to straighten the blanket, while muttering to herself, “Poor girl. Not even Prince Charming can save her.”At this point, I turn my anger against myself. So far, I’ve neglected to ask the right questions. I must start making a list. Was there some near-fatal accident? Is that what landed me here? When? Where? How? Was it my fault? And just like that, my heart skips a beat, not because of the fluorescent fixtures buzzing again before they fall into silence, and not even because of counting the seconds until the backup generators kick in, until power is here, uninterrupted. No, this time I grow worried because of something else entirely. I wonder: if there was an accident, was I the only one hurt? And what happened to the one person I care about, the one I love more than anyone else in the whole world? If only I could remember his name—oh! Oh, I know! It’s Michael. Where is he? Why isn’t he here? He owes me a kiss!

Oh, the end you will not see coming! I love when an author can have me convinced only to turn it upside down! The narration was well done and really helped to bring the story to life. I really enjoyed this and will be recommending this to my friends.

Cool blend of mystery, science and art
I am thrilled to find a carefully thought-out review, written by top Amazon reviewer and author Sheila Deeth. In addition to her novel, Divide by Zero, she has written The Five Minute Bible Story Series, and other books. With a Masters in mathematics from Cambridge University, England, she is a a top reviewer for Amazon, Goodreads, Gather and other reading sites. This is what she says about my techno-thriller, Virtually Lace:

Cool blend of mystery, science and artFebruary 12, 2019
Format: Kindle Edition
Michael has been working on a virtual reality model in his garage. The military might be interested of course, but Michael’s interest lies more in the question of beauty—“Could beauty be taken apart… Would its data be synthesized, somehow, into a lifelike experience?” And how many different angles and points of view would one need to create that simulation? Then he sees real beauty and ugliness, life and death alongside the Pacific Coast Highway, and the reader is hooked.
The police are investigating of course, but the tale is told from Michael’s point of view, with beautiful scenery, complex mystery, fascinating art, and a touch of romance. The artist’s hand of the author is readily apparent in the character’s creations, both real and virtual. Suspicions grow. Reality intersects with the virtual. And a well-sculpted plot tells it all. A fast, fun and enticing read.
Disclosure: I read a pre-release version and I enjoyed it.

Can you Solve a Murder using Virtual Reality Sims? Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 starsPerformance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 starsStory ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 starsReviewed: 02-11-19Virtually Lace-Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance, Book 2 written by Uvi Poznansky. The narration is provided by Don Warrick. The total running time is 4 hours and 31 minutes. In that time the listener will join Michael and Ash as Michael is drawn into solving a murder. Using their Virtual Reality Simulation programs Michael sets out to try and solve the murder of a young woman named Lace.
This is another story from the author that holds the listener's attention through the entire audiobook. The combination of the mystery to solve the murder with the use of Virtual Reality and Ash putting herself in harm's way to once she learns about the whole story from Michael makes for some really great listening. The love between Ash and Michael is such a big part of the story and how it was affected by her attack and memory loss due to that violent incident. Ms. Poznansky has crafted a gripping cozy mystery that really has the listener paying close attention through the entire production so as to not miss any details of the story. The use of Virtual Reality in the solving of the crime was an excellent part of the story.
The narration provided by Don Warrick was very good. Mr. Warrick always delivers consistent and high-quality performance. The production quality of this audiobook is also the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Uvi Poznansky was the publisher of the audiobook and delivered an excellent audiobook production. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A virtual reality software developer can't help investigating when he stumbles upon the body of a murdered woman and uses his programming talents to help him solve the murder.
This story is very different from either the King David stories or the Music of Us series I've previously read, and yet, here as well, Poznansky manages to capture that lyrical storytelling magic that keeps you glued to the story long past your bedtime.
Virtually Lace offers a pallet of lovingly portrayed characters including Michael, the developer hero, Lace, the murdered dancer and Ash the beautiful love interest, developer and model.
With convincing detail and her usual impeccable story-telling skills, Poznansky follows Michael's painstaking efforts to determine what happened to Lace, his building of his virtual model and his relationship with the beautiful Ash, herself an assault victim. The story, like Michael's model, starts slowly, with only a few details and then picks up speed and adds details until the reader finds himself hurtling toward an explosive conclusion you will not see coming.
Although Virtually Lace will be a new kind of story for Poznansky fans, it's a thrill ride you will not soon forget.

Knowing seemed meaningless. He had to trust his senses
If you can not see this chirbit, listen to it here https://chirb.it/xGsfBA
Michael had programmed his code to eliminate the view of all things blue, so that the virtual environment would be projected in their place—but this time, the result amazed him. He rubbed his eyes. Coming towards him, Ash seemed bodiless. Her midnight-blue dress was nearly invisible, which allowed the virtual seascape to glimmer as it rolled gradually through it, right up to the hint of her cleavage. “You did forget about me,” she said, with a touch of amusement in her voice. “Didn’t you?”“Sorry,” he said. “I should’ve called you earlier, but thought you were asleep—”“Uh-uh. Try again.”“I should’ve called you earlier, but was immersed way too deep into my work.”“Now that I believe!”“And I wanted to prepare this as a surprise—”“So did I! Look, here’s a little something for you.”“Sweetheart, you know I don’t like surprises—”“I know no such thing.” She opened the palm of her hand and raised it to his eyes. “What’s that?”“It’ll make coming up for air even less tempting for you than it already is.”On her palm was a glove so thin, he could hardly believe it could be used for his particular purposes. All the virtual reality gloves he had tested so far were as bulky as the ones meant for motorcycle riding.“I’ve designed it for you,” she said.“It’s thin,” he said, “but a bit too large for my hand, isn’t it?”“I thought the fabric will shrink after the first washing.”“So? Why didn’t it?”“Because.” She took his hand in hers, “There’s more than fabric that makes up this glove.”At her touch, the blood in his veins quickened with desire, but a moment later, when she began stretching the glove over his hand, he could no longer feel what was real. He lost the softness of her skin and didn’t yet know yet what he was about to gain.“This glove is truly magical,” she said. “It contains a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a magnetometer to measure the orientation of your hand; five fingertip sensors to perceive finger movement; and a pressure sensor for the thumb, to measure its rotation. All this is designed to help you feel the shape, texture, even temperature of whatever you’re holding in the virtual world.”“So from now on,” he said, “objects here won’t feel empty to the touch?”“Exactly.” She slid each one of his fingers into place, bringing them into contact with the sensors. “Now, try it!”Michael raised his hand to reach the simulated clouds overhead, and in a blink, he felt light raindrops. He waved it through the creek milkweeds and Belladonna lilies swaying by the side of the trail, and sensed every petal, every leaf, every stem as they ran through his fingers. “Wow,” he said. “Just wow!”
He hurried over to the rock formation just as Fish wiggled out of the blue surface, signifying water. When he placed his palm in front of it, Fish leapt into his hand, its gills opening for a breath, giving him a ticklish sensation. Michael stroked every scale along its body and they fluttered slightly in response to his touch, feeling ever so delicate, ever so flimsy. He knew that what he saw, what he felt around him were merely imagined objects, coming into being inside his garage by the power of software computations. But knowing seemed meaningless. He had to trust his senses.
