Book Description:
This story is a present-day twist on the biblical story of Jacob and his mother Rebecca plotting together against the elderly father Isaac, who is lying on his deathbed, in order to get their hands on the inheritance, and on the power in the family. This is no old fairy tale. Its power is here and now, in each one of us.
Listening to Yankle telling his take on events, we understand the bitter rivalry between him and his brother. We become intimately engaged with every detail of the plot, and every shade of emotion in these flawed, yet fascinating characters. He yearns to become his father’s favorite son, seeing only one way open to him, to get that which he wants: deceit
“What if my father would touch me,” asks Yankle. In planning his deception, it is not love for his father, nor respect for his age that drives his hesitation—rather, it is the fear to be found out.
And so—covering his arm with the hide of a kid, pretending to be that which he is not—he is now ready for the last moment he is going to have with his father.

When wind raged around me I would whisper words into it
There is no motion anywhere, except for the clouds. They are rolling in, hanging full and heavy over the hills of Jerusalem, roaming over me like an upside down flock of sheep. It is then that a memory comes back, the shining memory of distant days, when I was watching over my father’s herd. From where I stand now, my childhood seems carefree—until I remember how resentful I felt that first time when he told me that the next day I would be left with the sheep all by myself. They were taller than me, which frightened me. I was full of disdain and wished I could rebel. But I did not, because what choice did I have? We lived faraway from the lowlands, where you could farm the land. A shepherd I had to become, so I pretended to know my way. I walked ahead and to my surprise, the herd followed. In that rugged, mountainous terrain, finding new areas for grazing kept me on the move, farther and farther away from Bethlehem, even as my longing for my father grew stronger. I imagined coming back to him at the end of the day. When wind raged around me I would whisper words into it. When it died down I would hum a melody. In my loneliness I would listen to the echoes rolling back from the hills, singing with me.

Who will decide King David's successor?
I am honored to get this review is from a reader who is not only a truck driver who has seen most of the continental US through her work, and who is a poet as well! Cindy J. Smith is the author of Voices In My Head and other books. This is what she wrote about my new release, The Edge of Revolt:
5.0 out of 5 stars Who will decide King David's successor? December 15, 2014By Cynthia J. SmithFormat:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
King David is revered for his poetry and psalms. Uvi has looked closer at the man and offers us King David as a flawed person. This final book in her trilogy takes place at the end of David's life. Bathsheba wants David to name their son Solomon as his heir to the throne despite the fact that he is 4th in line. The book goes on to relate the tale of David's oldest sons and their fall. It shows that although David united the tribes of Israel under one crown, his parenting skills left much to be desired. When his oldest rapes the second son's sister, David lets it slide. He is afraid of coming down too soft or too strong and just lets everything go hoping it will disappear. But that is not what happens. Rage burns inside his second son until he finally takes justice into his own hands and murders his older brother. David is again unwilling to decide what to do. This time it leads to an attempted overthrow. When he gets his crown back, David is again faced with his old age and the knowledge that his third son is trying to take over the kingdom. A well written book. David is humanized and an understanding of his decisions is given. Loved the book and the trilogy.

This is the first book I read from this author. Writing this story must have been hard for the author, as she throws the reader into a different world and different times. There is a melancholic tone to her writing, as she brings to life her father's life story, and many poems he wrote, After You've gone, Bent over Memories, Autumn's Gold, Vigil Light, and many more. A great book to read, well written, and worthy of praise!

The Final Outcome...
I am so glad for this review, written by Dolores Ayotte, author of A Woman's Voice (and other self-help books) who is a great inspirational writer and one of the best reviewers on Amazon. This is what she said about The Edge of Revolt:
5.0 out of 5 stars The Final Outcome..., December 14, 2014By Dolores Ayotte (Winnipeg, Manitoba) - See all my reviewsVerified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: The Edge of Revolt (The David Chronicles Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
The Edge of Revolt (The David Chronicles Book 3) by Author Uvi Poznansky
I have experienced the rare opportunity to get to really know a Bible character, warts and all. It would seem that King David had his fair share of them if one were to embrace this author's microscopic view of a powerful man's life in ancient times. In the author's own words..."It's amazing to be in the skin of the character from childhood to old age." My sentiments exactly...a great read indeed! I am an author myself and with each novel I read by Ms. Poznansky, she continues to inspire me to be a better one.
The Prologue sets the pace for the elderly and frail King David. Strongly advised by Bathsheba to choose an heir to the throne before the possibility of unnecessary rivalry results between his eldest living son Adoniah by Haggith, and his youngest son Solomon by Bathsheba, is a decision King David is slow to make. After all...he is still King as he proclaims to Bathsheba when she confronts him yet again.
The poignant presentation in the chronicles of King David as depicted by Author Uvi Poznansky and the endless possibilities of how he conducts the last years of his life, stand out in a very profound way. This talented author has both the skill and the courage to dig deeper into King David's psyche and portray his supposed indecisive character in a mesmerizing way. In doing so, Ms. Poznansky adeptly manages to give him a present day voice combined with a very human, and oftentimes, fragile persona. He seems to be a man with many weaknesses and numerous lustful cravings. This is clearly demonstrated by his several wives and his need for young concubines to frequent his bed and satisfy his sexual cravings. This, now much older King, does not compare to the young, down-to-earth, brave commoner that slayed Goliath. Uncomfortable with the knowledge that his eldest son Amnon follows in his path when it comes to his lustful nature, King David closes his mind to the rumors he hears. Now, emotionally torn by the rape of his daughter... virginal fourteen year old Tamar, defiled by half-brother Amnon, King David lacks the strength and wisdom to effectively deal with this heinous crime. Absalom, Tamar's full brother and Amnon's half-brother, is at his wits end and loses all respect for his father. After much deliberation, frustrating indecision and endless waiting, Absalom decides to take matters into his own hands...
"The Edge of Revolt" is the third and final installment in the Chronicle of David Series. As previously stated, I have read and reviewed the other two but Book 3 is my favorite thus far. It is penned by the same gifted author....well-written in Author Uvi Poznansky's unique and captivating style. However, it offers closure to the life and eventual death of King David. He has led a ponderous life, a gifted psalmist...filling up scroll after scroll, yet persecuted by the realization of his own humanity and need for redemption. Haunted by his love for Bathsheba, the taking of her when she was married to Uriah, and his subsequent act of perpetuating Uriah's murder on the battlefield clearly demonstrates one of the many reasons for the spiritual and emotional turmoil in King David's life. Will he ever find the peace of mind he so deeply desires before his death...?

Cover reveal for The David Chronicles (Boxed Set)
You may wonder what goes into the design of the cover for my trilogy, The David Chronicles. I wanted to show, in a graphic manner, that the trilogy contains three volumes: Rise to Power, A Peek at Bathsheba, and The Edge of Revolt in a boxed set. So I designed the image of 'front cover' of the box and the image of the spines.
The front image of the box displays the title and the author name in golden lettering over the landscape image, which is my own art (and appears also on the cover of The Edge of Revolt.) Each one of the spines is rounded, to give the impression that these are leather-bound volumes. The title of each volume appears in golden lettering, using a regal, flowing font as if written by the hand of my character, David. A small icon, depicting a detail from the front cover of each volume, appears at the bottom of the spine.Once I has the two images, I combined them into a 3D representation of the box, and created the reflection by reversing the images upside down, and making them faded.

Apart From Love
Uvi Poznansky
A beautiful and unique work from Uvi Poznansky.
Apart From Love is a sensitive and sensuous work, which entangles the senses of the reader as one dances through the strings of words to reach an intense end.
The novel gives an emotional story throughout and gives a journey to the soul, encompassing the depths of dysfunction, beckoning prayers, hate and forgiveness.
A very well-written book with true-to-life and believable characters of Lenny and Natasha portraying an amazing story and crafting a great literary experience of this gripping read.
The highly descriptive and poetic artistry of the author is one of the best to date - wonderful work.
Poznansky is one of a kind - be drawn into this exceptional talent!

Book Description:
Against the backdrop of wars, raging within the land and without, David is growing into the mantle of leadership. Between his anointment as a tribal king and his anointment as the king of all of Israel, he uses wisdom, cunning, and his own understanding of the forces of history, aiming for high ideals: stopping the bloodshed, uniting the nation, and bringing about healing and peace.
But then, having reached his peak, David falters. He makes a serious error that threatens to undo his political success, and cost him not only the adoration of his people—but also the sense of being sustained by a divine power. That error is the most torrid tale of passion ever told: his deliciously forbidden love for Bathsheba, followed by his attempt to cover up the ensuing scandal by sending her husband—who serves him faithfully in his army—to his death.
This is volume II of the trilogy The David Chronicles, told candidly by the king himself. David uses modern language, indicating that this is no fairytale. Rather, it is a story that is happening here and now. Listen to his voice as he undergoes a profound change, realizing the magnitude of his sin, and the curse looming over his entire future.

Home. A simple word; a loaded one. You can say it in a whisper; you can say it in a cry. Expressed in the voices of father and daughter, you can hear a visceral longing, in poems and prose, for an ideal place. A place never to be found again.
Imagine the shock, imagine the sadness when a daughter discovers her father’s work, the poetry he had never shared with anyone during the last two decades of his life. Six years after that moment of discovery, which happened in her childhood home while mourning for his passing, Uvi Poznansky presents a tender tribute: a collection of poems and prose, half of which is written by her, and half—by her father, the author, poet and artist Zeev Kachel. She has been translating his poems for nearly a year, with careful attention to rhyme and rhythm, in an effort to remain faithful to the spirit of his words.
Zeev’s writing is always autobiographical in nature; you can view it as an ongoing diary of his life. Uvi’s writing is rarely so, especially when it comes to her prose. She is a storyteller who delights in conjuring up various figments of her imagination, and fleshing them out on paper. She sees herself chasing her characters with a pen, in an attempt to see the world from their point of view, and to capture their voices. But in some of her poems, she offers you a rare glimpse into her most guarded, intensely private moments, yearning for Home.

Her writing is superbly crafted
An award-winning, internationally read, From Womens' Pens author and humorist, Susan Jean Ricci is best known for her series of works titled Cindy's Crusades. This is what she said about my novel, A Peek at Bathsheba:
5.0 out of 5 stars Her writing is superbly crafted and I’ve not been disappointed with any of her work, December 9, 2014By Susan Ricci - See all my reviewsVerified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: A Peek at Bathsheba (The David Chronicles Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
The gifted writer and artist extraordinaire Uvi Poznansky’s A Peek at Bathsheba, The David Chronicles Volume 2, has done it again. Her writing is superbly crafted and I’ve not been disappointed with any of her work.
In A Peek of Bathsheba, the narrative begins with a soliloquy from an old man revealing his inability to understand his wives as a youth. Naturally, he’s reflecting on the past, which brings us to the heart of the matter, or the beginning of what he treasured so much about Bathsheba.
Now, I’m not an educated person regarding this time period regarding Israel’s history, but as Ms. Poznansky makes it so easy to understand the happenings of the day, I soon put my fears to rest and effortlessly continued on with her story.
Bathsheba says to David, our narrator, that there is a matter of life and death he must attend to, regarding her son. As the couple banters back and forth, we find their love for one another has not withstood the test of time – why this has occurred we have yet to discover.
David is a writer of psalms (yes, he’s that David), and expresses his desires within his prose to dictate how his kingdom shall be ruled. He’s made serious mistakes through out his lifetime, some of which can never be rectified. Bathsheba’s plea is haunting as she says to David, “I beg you: show me you still care. Read the scroll. Do it now, David, because this you must realize: my life, and the life of our son, are both in grave danger.”
Their story unfolds from there, through well-crafted backstory and psalms of David. Wars and battles will shape David’s destiny. He’s a young man coming into his majority who would someday be king, beginning with the collapse of The House of Saul. Plus, he’s a mighty selfish guy with a penchant for jewels, luxuries, and beauty.
Superficial? Perhaps. An egotist? Yes. Some men are like that, I suppose even to this day. This is where, you the reader will find solace and entertainment in discovering what makes a boy king into a man. Or did he ever step up to his mark in fulfilling his destiny?
I absolutely applaud how Ms. Poznansky took a complicated story and put a contemporary spin on an ancient tale, a deal sealer for me.
I urge you to put A Peek at Bathsheba on your to-read list. Or better yet, add the story to your Holiday wish list. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Five stars for Uvi Poznansky and a high five for enjoyment!
