A Peek at Bathsheba (The David Chronicles Book 2) (Kindle Edition)A Peek at Bathsheba is a great book that truly surprised me, I didn't know what to expect. It brings to life that particular Bible book of King David. The king goes through his turmoil, hopes, mistakes, passion, and love for Bathsheba. There are wars, blood shed, betrayals, and peace plans. He makes it clear what his role is as king. He has humor. I laughed at the remark made comparing a woman to a fruit. The book is written in a contemporary style, making us aware of the similar questions, mistakes, we share in our modern world. I love the author's poetic style!

They might die there--unless they spring from the page to your mind
James DiBenedetto, the author of the Dream Series, is my 'partner in crime' in the creation of the boxed set titled At Odds with Destiny. He asked me about the ideas that propelled me to bring together the ten authors who are taking part in this exciting project. So I opened with, "Lately, despite being an intensely private person, I have found myself increasingly engaged with readers and listeners. Why? because of my characters. Having sprung from my mind onto the page, they might die there, pressed between the front and back covers–unless I make it possible for them to spring from the page to your mind..."

She is dancing with words
Skadi Winter is the author of HEXE, the story of young girl, born during the coldest winter people could remember in a remote German village shortly after WWII. I am deeply moved by her review of my novel, Rise to Power:
5.0 out of 5 stars History - not boring at all, February 26, 2015By Skadi Winter (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rise to Power (The David Chronicles Book 1) (Kindle Edition)I have read 'Rise to Power' after Uvi's 'Apart from Love' because I've liked her style and her psychological insight. In 'Rise to Power', Uvi has entered the head and mind of a man, of King David, whom we all have read about or heard of in Sunday School. But, how different this man shows in her story. Uvi, first of all, is using quite contemporary language which makes Kind David of the Bible a human being, someone we can visionalize and feel, almost touch. Maybe understand. She is giving a human face to King David which we are able to recognise. I knew King David only for the killing of Goliath but, reading Uvi's excellent psychological assessment of his character, I feel as if history becomes alive, the man becomes alive. Uvi is an excellent writer, using her artistic skills of painting to create a picture of historical biblical characters to evolve in front of our inner eye. She truly is an artist of words. King David, a remarkable character of his time, becoming one representative of the Israel we all know. The quest for power, the passion, deceiving and manipulating, but still, the human face of times gone by and our time. Historical fiction at it's finest Uvi Poznanski is a remarkable writer. She is dancing with words.

Book Description:
This story is a present-day twist on the biblical story of Jacob and his mother Rebecca plotting together against the elderly father Isaac, who is lying on his deathbed, in order to get their hands on the inheritance, and on the power in the family. This is no old fairy tale. Its power is here and now, in each one of us.
Listening to Yankle telling his take on events, we understand the bitter rivalry between him and his brother. We become intimately engaged with every detail of the plot, and every shade of emotion in these flawed, yet fascinating characters. He yearns to become his father’s favorite son, seeing only one way open to him, to get that which he wants: deceit
“What if my father would touch me,” asks Yankle. In planning his deception, it is not love for his father, nor respect for his age that drives his hesitation—rather, it is the fear to be found out.
And so—covering his arm with the hide of a kid, pretending to be that which he is not—he is now ready for the last moment he is going to have with his father.

Book Description:
Struggling to find the right balance between loving his sons and upholding justice, David is silent when Amnon rapes his daughter, Tamar, and when Absalom lures Amnon to his death. These crimes go unpunished, because a mysterious change has come upon the king, which his court scribes note even before he does. In the past he had to explain his actions, such as the affair with Bathsheba, to them. Now, they want to understand the opposite thing: his lack of action.
In families other than his, such matters may be a mere matter of gossip. Yet when assault, incest, and murder occur in the king’s family, they affect matters of the state. David is toppled from his throne and must escape from the son he adores, Absalom.
Even as he finds a way to quell the revolt and come back to the City of David, the road ahead seems unclear. How will he find the right successor amongst his remaining sons, the one who will connect to him and continue his legacy?
This is volume III of the trilogy The David Chronicles, told candidly by the king himself. David uses modern language, indicating that this is no fairytale. Rather, it is a story that is happening here and now.

The miracle is her uncanny ability to return to old stories and make them brilliantly fresh
Author of War Songs, Grady Harp describes himself as being ever on the alert for the new and promising geniuses of tomorrow. He is an artist representative, gallery owner, writer of essays and articles on figurative and all Representational art for museum catalogues and for traveling exhibitions, and an Amazon Hall of Fame Reviewer. I am honored that he has posted this five-star review for my trilogy, The David Chronicles:
5.0 out of 5 stars David as we have never known him February 3, 2015By Grady Harp HALL OF FAMETOP 100 REVIEWERVINE VOICEFormat:Kindle Edition
Uvi Poznansky wears a coat of many colors. Originally from Israel where she studied Architecture and Town Planning then moving to the US where she studied Computer Science and became an expert in Software Engineering, Poznansky managed to combine the design elements of two studies into unique formats. And she has accomplished the same with the other side of her brain - making visual her ideas (she is an accomplished painter, drawer, and sculptor who has enjoyed exhibitions both in Israel and in California, her present base) and making words in poetry and in short stories and children's books. THE DAVID CHRONICLES is to date her supreme achievement. Having read each of the three volumes the reviews are combined here. RISE TO POWER is the first book of the series and is adorned on the cover with an image of her own painting!
But the miracle of Uvi Poznansky's writing is her uncanny ability to return to old stories and make them brilliantly fresh. This retelling of the Biblical David unveils a character far more profound and fragile than the slayer of Goliath. His personality radiates from every page as her grows from valiant lad to eloquent hero and Poznansky's gift for poetry renders a magical hue to every aspect of this story. A PEEK AT BATHSHEBA is the second volume, once again adorned on the cover with an image of her own painting. In this novel, the author's synopsis serves the book well: 'Against the backdrop of wars, raging within the land and without, David is growing into the mantle of leadership. Between his anointment as a tribal king and his anointment as the king of all of Israel, he uses wisdom, cunning, and his own understanding of the forces of history, aiming for high ideals: stopping the bloodshed, uniting the nation, and bringing about healing and peace. But then, having reached his peak, David falters. He makes a serious error that threatens to undo his political success, and cost him not only the adoration of his people--but also the sense of being sustained by a divine power. That error is the most torrid tale of passion ever told: his deliciously forbidden love for Bathsheba, followed by his attempt to cover up the ensuing scandal by sending her husband--who serves him faithfully in his army--to his death.
David uses modern language, indicating that this is no fairytale. Rather, it is a story that is happening here and now. Listen to his voice as he undergoes a profound change, realizing the magnitude of his sin, and the curse looming over his entire future.' THE EDGE OF REVOLT is her third installment of THE DAVID CHRONICLES novel and gratefully is again adorned on the cover with an image of her own painting! `Struggling to find the right balance between loving his sons and upholding justice, David is silent when Amnon rapes his daughter, Tamar, and when Absalom lures Amnon to his death. These crimes go unpunished, because a mysterious change has come upon the king, which his court scribes note even before he does. His personality radiates from every page as he progresses to old age and Poznansky's gift for poetry renders a magical hue to every aspect of this story. At times startling, as times awe-inspiring, and at all times fine reading, this is a welcome addition to the growing library of one our more important writers. Grady Harp, February 15
