April is an important month in Taekwondo history because, on April 11, 1955, the word taekwondo was coined and it is considered the birthday of traditional taekwondo. This month also marks one year since the official rebranding of the United States Taekwondo Association, created by Grandmaster Richard Chun in 1980.                                            March is Women's History Month                                        The 2024 National Women’s History Theme“Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion”"Today, equity, diversity and inclusion are powerful driving forces that are having a wide-ranging impact on our country. As members of families, civic and community groups, businesses and legislative bodies, women are in the forefront of reevaluating the status quo."
In that spirit, let's celebrate all the women and girls who persevere in the martial art of taekwondo despite forces that seek to discriminate on the
basis of gender.

2024 is officially in full swing and the CHOSUN Winter/Spring schedule of classes offers training opportunities for everyone! The first CHOSUN Belt/Stripe Promotion Test will be this month in the dojang. Submit fees and paperwork by Wednesday February 9th. In the meantime, practice, practice, practice!

As we enter another holiday season, as always, the Chosun Taekwondo Academy offers an anecdote to the frenetic pace that can envelop us.
As you make your "to do" list and check it twice... don't forget your training... it is a steadfast constant and provides the needed respite from the stress of the season. Chosun is unique in that we offer many programs to stay calm           and centered...
The Chosun Yoga program, ongoing Qigong classes and our monthly meditation classes offer ways to find the true joy of the season by engaging in age-old practices that help us connect to the human spirit and humanity.
