Halfway through UES so thoughts are on next to write

Hard to get writing in this morning.The dogs kept barking because my mother got up. Lucy sleeps with her and my mom has trained Lucy that when they get up, Lucy should bark down the hall to get Kona up to play with. I have to be the bad guyand correct the behavior.

Puttering when new horizons are explored

Today was one of those dayswhen things get stuttery. It’s not that I have a problem with the story, but my brain is breaking new areas and working out a huuuuugggeeee storyline with all sorts of angles so that trying to get it down and work it out (as Dean Wesley Smith says,in the dark)without having worked it out before, takes work. I can feel the muscle in my brain stretching out as I write, haha.

When you force yourself to quit

Had to pull myself away today. The story was going so well, and things were just working out perfectly. The story was flowing well, the characters were feeding me . . . and I didn’t want to stop!

Burnout & Working Hard

Back to normal with my words.This is why I don’t get down on myself if I have a low word count. The next day I will go right back up there. I had someone on Twitter tell me to keep the faith. As much as I understand where they are coming from and appreciate their kind words, it makes me think about something. Have we become so easily wounded and hurt that one slow day or bad word count would be something that could take a person that far down?

Slug butt today

Ifeel pretty out of it today and I’m not sure why.I think it’s stress catching up. Been dealing with a lot of people down my back all at once. Normally it’s notas bad, but I swear nearly everyone I’ve dealt with in a personal way the past few days I have been stressed from the interaction. Needless to say I look it too, haha. I’m just worn out.

Watched the pilot episode ofAnimal Kingdom today. TV show that features Scott Speedman. It was . . . interesting. Enough that I’ll continue to check...

Quarter of the way in!

I just noticed that I am about 26K words intoUnder Empty Stars. Fshew. Making good progress. I started this book around June 29th, and I’m not yet at the one month mark. Maybe it also feels fast because of how much I enjoy the story, but I seem to be speeding along.

Didn’t think I’d get many words in,but I’m overtly pleased at those numbers.
