Lycaen Ridge, watch out

Stefan and Mila have arrived at Lycaen Ridge. Tomorrow we shall see what happens. Gotta get to editing so this is mostly just an update on word count.

An interesting challenge

1,052 words for the day. Had to update my writing tracker widget. Messes me up when I try to calculate my numbers and have to hunt down what I last wrote, lol.

Stefan and Mila are traipsing through the countryside (hence pic on this post), discussing their plans. Sure ’nuff, starting on this route has given me some information and led me down a path that’s helping me tie everything in. If Stefan can focus please . . . and not on Mila

2,040 words is pretty good  for about an hour. Especially for the start of a book. Sometimes getting my brain going is difficult, especially since this isn’t picking up where I left off as much as continuing of a long ago written series. I say long ago when I really mean a year or two? Maybe three.

I like the image I found to use for a featured image on this post. It’s nearly the exact image of what’s inside my head while I’m writing about the road leading away from Stefan and Mila’s castle.

So it begins and they are adorable together – tasty excerpt.

And so Mila and Stefan’s story begins. They aren’t in a huge storyline yet. I decided I would pick up their tale from the castle and go from there. It starts where I left Claiming the Enchantress. Figured I would but wasn’t sure. Never know how a story will start or where it will go.

I finished Fury of a Queen this morning. My brain is all over the place so I’m surprised I am. It’s not necessarily something to do with me. I slept super heavy last night, dreamt of shopping for whatever reason. At a store, I was looking at a shirt rack on a shelf of discarded remnants and checking them out. lol

Anyhoo, I slept deeply and soundly then woke at 8am, cuddled with Kona a bit, got up, and it’s just been hectic. Yet y eyes are dry, I’m worn out like I didn’t get sleep at all, and...

That woman knows how to make an entrance

And an entrance she made. So we are really nearing the end of this book. I think what’s going to happen is I’ll end the book, then reverse time into the place where I left Mila and Stefan.

Because they have to make their way to the King and Queen of the Awakened. There is some story in between there I’m sure. Then Mila has to tell her side of the story once she gets there. Julian taking control

So at this point, Kat and Julian have zero choice on the matter. Kat needs to try to tap into Kylarra to find out what the hell is going on. Nobody seems to know anything about her, they don’t feel as if they have all the time in the world. There is one connection which they have to her, that nobody else can touch.

And that is her mother.

They know the dangers that have begun to present themselves, even more that if Kat gets sick again, they may or may not have the option of Sean again. I don...

I should’ve known that Julian was paying that much attention. Let’s face it: sometimes guys don’t. I love y’all! But you could stand in front of something and not see it at all. Ya know that. And I admit, I didn’t think Julian wasn’t focusing on those little clues about Verrick.

Little too late

So Kat found her truth a little too late. Verrick showed her the type of man he really is. Little hard to hide the truth of who he is when he knows that potentially he’s about to cause her physical harm and he does that one small thing to keep from hurting her.

Also, I realized he did it earlier too. Kat showed him what she was capable of, but he could’ve easily have retaliated I think. But . . . he didn’t. Wonder if she’s going to note that as well. She may.

Verrick is smart and dumb all at once sometimes

Well that’s the truth! I love him, but he’s still ego-based and wanting to be all cocky about everything. Then he pushed his limits and went too far. Thinking he could grab the Queen as if having nearly a foot on her gave him leeway? Or being a Lycaen?

Tut, tut, tut, Verrick.

Julian has simply taught Kat a lot about managing her emotions. So yes tough guy, when you grab her arm that way? You’re sort of asking for what is to come!
