The heavens are rumbling – Cover reveal and series update.

The reboot of the Heavenly Wars series is in full swing. Requiem for Poseidon is out in Kindle and Paperback editions with an audio version in the works. #Free to read on Kindle Unlimited (just 99¢ otherwise)

This book also contains the first chapter of Son of Thunder, A newly re-edited version of the story that came out way back in 2013..

I am in the process of re-editing and updating every book in the series, toning down the graphic sexual content and moving the story from the romance genre and making it more of an Urban Fantasy. My hope it to reach a wider audience.

Cover reveal – Requiem for Poseidon (2nd edition)

Today I took down the first edition of Requiem for Poseidon. Oh, it’s still there, old cover and all, but soon it will magically change to the 2nd edition with the new cover. Here’s what the cover will look like:

Now this magic will only happen on the Kindle version of the book. The old 1st edition paperback will endure, though the book will remain out-of-print. You will be able to purchase used versions on Amazon there if some are available. A new, matching paperback will eventually appear as well, linked with the new Kindle version.

This story, while short, has changed a bit-enough to warrant this being a 2nd edition-although the ending and it’s effects on the Heavenly War series remain the same..I have also added in the first chapter of the new version of Son of Thunder in this volume.

And speaking of the Heavenly War series, yes, it’s coming back soon. Release date for the 2nd edition of Son of Thunder is scheduled for Oct. 1st. A cover reveal and pre-order link will be coming soon. This book is done and I am hard at work on the second book, Daughter of Darkness, which I am hoping to release Nov. 1st.

Making my stand…

I’m an old, straight, white guy. Pretty much the poster child of privilege in America and in many places around the world. I’m not famous. I’m not rich. I’m not much of an “influencer.” I’m just a storyteller who happens to have won a couple of awards for the novels I’ve written.

My blog and my platform are for the promotion of myself and my writing, and in normal times I would never post anything about politics, religion, or social issues unless it had something to do with something I was writing.

These are not normal times.

With the chaos erupting in our streets across the country, I feel we need to use whatever platforms we have, to stand up for what we believe. So here is what I believe:

It is not right that certain communities need to live in fear of the very security force put in place to protect us all. Yes, there are other ethnicites who suffer this as well, but the black community has been historically held down. And if your answer to Black Lives Matter is All Lives Matter, you have not been listening and really don’t understand what the phrase means.

When two (or more) people find a loving relationship with each other, in a form that is mutually acceptable, it is a good thing. I may not understand what drew you together or the bonds you’ve forged, but it is wrong for me to judge or condemn your relationship. Love who and how you need to.

I am a proud feminist. A woman’s body is her own.

We are all people. Your country of origin was not your choice. America is strengthened by every diversity we embrace. Any culture, any religion should be accepted here, and the pathway to citizenship should be easy and accessible to all.

Science is Real

The earth is not flat. Climate change is real. And while I’m not fully trusting of the big drug companies, COVID-19 is showing the necessity for inoculations and herd immunity. We deny science to our own peril.

Both Son of Thunder and Daughter of Darkness have been taken down, and are no longer available. If you purchased either of these book in the past, thank you very much. The Heavenly War is set in a world I love and have wanted to revisit and expand on. The original series was to be six books, and I have lots of pieces and parts lying around that I am excited to be dragging out of the mothballs as I re-imagine this series and get set to bring it back in line with my new aesthetic. The explicit sex scenes will be gone, the fantasy elements amped up, and some of the more dated scenes will be updated.

Someday I will get the right back to this story and will rewrite it to fit in with the new series. I’m in no hurry on this one because I don’t want to disrupt the work of the other authors, and the other outstanding stories in this collection, so if you are interested in this one, expect the old, super-sexy style.

A Requiem for Poseidon is a stand-alone short story, and one that works into Daughter of Darkness. This I published as a promo book, and it will soon be pulled to be reworked. But I’m leaving it up for now, as I’m not ready for this project yet. This story needs a complete rework, as the sex is intricate to the story, and taking it out will require an extensive re-imagining…I think.
