Briar Somerset is the author of The A Lay of Ruinous Reign series (a Vampire Romantic Fantasy steeped in Breton folklore and Arthurian legend), and the My Darling Malady series—a collection of Victorian Gothic Paranormal Romance novellas following the unfortunate adventures of a reluctant investigator and seamstress through the shadowed byways of Victorian society.

Somerset lives in California with her husband and family, and is an enthusiastic enjoyer of fantasy RPGs/TTRPGs, scalding cups of tea, and finding whimsy in the macabre.

In all facets of her craft, Somerset enjoys exploring the—disenchanting, if you will—undertones of history, romance, and the arcane.
