Why Don’t Indie Writers have Editors?

  In this age of ebooks everywhere, Indies have flooded the market with some amazing stories. They lead most of the charts on each retailer and their fan base is growing steadily, while traditional publishers are having a hard time moving their titles. So why don’t Independent authors have an editor? The answer is price. It costs 2cents per word. For a single read through. Let’s take a 500-page book as an example. Each page averages 300 words. That equals 150,000 words (My own exceed 200K) x 2.0 cents per word. The total? $3,000.00. For ONE read. And most books need 2-4 layers of these edits. We’re talking $5K + per book to be edited. Now, let’s look at other costs that have to come out before this 500-page book is released to readers. Cover and inside images -$150-450 Formatting into multiple files -$500-1000 (This includes a separate file for EACH retailer. They all have their own rules.) Research, copyrights, permissions-$200-1000+ ISBN for every format- $180.00 (Can only be bought in batches of 10) Print set up- Separate file and cover needed - $200-400 Book Trailer/video -$200-400 for 30-60 second clips. Email services -$30.00 monthly(Once you have over 1000 contacts, it is NOT free anymore.) Also:Electric, computers with great software, office supplies, internet and phone (many retailers won’t sign you up without a phone #), other equipment like printers, 1-$2K+ After that, Indies cover all their own marketing and advertising. This can run more than the editing, but an average monthly amount would be around $400-700. When you have 9 million+ competitors, you MUST advertise just to be found. There are other expenses for authors that the reader never see, but you get the point from this list. Our total right now for a 500-page book, with everything above and beforepublication, is a whopping 5860.00. And that is using the lowest number for each expense, and only ONE edit. Can you imagine having a 300,000 word book that needs to be edited 3 times? That total alone is over 15K! So the answer, my friends, is cash. People think writers are flush, but the term ‘starving artist’ came from writers begging in the streets over the centuries. We’re determined to put our prose out there, knowing we may end up in a pauper’s grave somewhere before it’s all over. The odds were stacked against writers way back when and it hadn’t changed much until the internet removed those barriers. Some readers would say that if we can’t afford to edit, then pick another career. Okay. Sure. You do amazing things with hair, but you can’t afford the schooling for the trade. Oh, well. Pick something else. You’re a brilliant scientist but your parents can’t afford college. Tough titty said the kitty. Pick something else. You think you can become president and solve world hunger. No one cares. Go sling garbage bags at 3am every day until you die. Some people, when told those things, will do exactly that. They curl into a fetal position and demand to know why they weren’t born rich or powerful. Others, like me, simply publish the work as clean as they can get it (I’m sorry. I’m no one’s editor) and later, if we can ever afford it, use the proceeds to send it to a real editor for that scrub and polish. Except, at those prices and with 9 million other titles to fight for attention, it is unlikely that an Indie ever makes enough money to properly edit their work. Does that mean we shouldn’t publish it? Oh, well and all that? If you still think so, maybe it will surprise you to know how many of our classic, infamous, studied figures in history were illiterate. We wouldn’t have: ·         Jane Austen, the author of Pride and Prejudice. In An Appointment with Death, Colonel Carbury's name is later written as "Colonel Carbery." ·         Winston Churchill ·         George Washington ·         Andrew Jackson-His perennial political rival John Quincy Adams once denounced him as "a savage who can scarcely spell his own name." Jackson's retort? "It's a damn poor mind that can think of only one way to spell a word." ·         Hemmingway ·         Twain ·         Fitzgerald ·         Yeats Should all of those writers and infamous persons have picked another career? So, what’s the solution? Two things. Thanks to the internet, we now have wonderful readers who VOLENTEER their time to help writers clean up their books. Betas might be true angels sent down just for authors. The other thing is education. We Indies have to do more than throw words on paper. We have to go out research it to find out if that comma belongs there. We have to take those night classes when the kids are sleeping.  We have to look at the corrections our Betas suggest and go, “Holy cow! I didn’t know that! I’ll try hard to not do it again.” In short, we have to care as much as our fans do. On that note, I would like to say that I am sorry for every typo and mistake that you have been hurt by while reading my work. I adore my fans. I would never feel good about giving you work that isn’t top quality. I just can’t afford that outlay before you even see the cover or blurb. When I can, my work will go through a professional editor every time. Until then, I hope you’ll be patient with me. I really don’t like the mistakes any more than you do. All I ever wanted to do was to give people amazing stories that take them away from life’s harsh realities. That’s what most writers want-Indie and traditional. The other red tape crushes us until we curl up on the floor and sob about the unfairness of the world. I much prefer explaining my position in hopes that you’ll continue to support Indies, especially the ones who try hard to do things right. If it weren’t for them, readers would still be paying full price for ebooks, which cost almost nothing to distribute once that first 5-8 formats are created. $14.99 for a paperback? Sure. For the matching ebook? No way. It should be free, and because of Indies, some of them are. Amazon has a matchbook feature. Check it out! You can buy the paperback, and get the ebook free! Other advantages to readers, because of Indies: Conversations. Did you know that none of the big authors even had FB pages until the Indies got there and began connecting with the fans? No offense to them, but famous writers would never have lowered themselves to ‘chat’ with fans unless their publishers and agents told them to. Need proof of that? How many times has S. King come to his page and shot the shit with a group of readers? Zero, but Anne Rice, who took herself Independent, often screams at her fans on a daily basis. Just click through their pages and scan to see how many of them actually talk to readers. Very few, but before the independents, there were none. You might be lucky enough to grab a few seconds at a book signing, or you may have gotten a form letter in response to your happy gushing, but no true contact. Indies have changed that. In the next decade, only rock star authors will be able to afford to ignore their fans, and Indies paved the way for that by getting on their accounts and talking to you. Nice, huh? One day, we may be able to bs with writers who would have ignored us ten years ago. Lower prices, and the FREE EBOOK. Do you think traditional publishers were ever going to give you a 500-page book for free? Me either, but Indies do it by the hour, trying to draw your attention to their work. Traditionally published writers leave all of that to their bosses. They usually don’t have a choice. To be fair, they’re getting ripped off worse than Indies, but that will be a different rant. Independent authors have already contributed so much to the world. Please continue to read their work, typos and all. You never know. One of those starving writers may just be the next Shakespeare. *Not me. “You think this will work?”Marc shrugged, returning to the driver’s seat without answering Neil’s quiet query. He doubted anything or anyone could change Angie’s mind and that included Adrian. She was the most stubborn person he’d ever known, but he didn’t assume she was doing this for attention. Losing the baby hadn’t been planned. He knew that by her reaction. If she’d planned it, she would have also had something waiting for her pain afterwards. Right now, she was eaten up with remorse and anger at herself. Both his demon and hers had warned him that she was obsessing over it, constantly replaying the fight with Vlad that had cost her so much. Besides the obvious not eating well or sleeping much, and the nasty attitude she’d developed, there was the crying every night. It killed him to roll over and find fresh tears, but the ones dried to her face each morning were enough to break him. She started and finished every day the same way now-tearing herself apart for the choices-and Marc was hoping time alone with Adrian would at least remind her that she still had duties to perform. If she went on like this much longer, the camp would call a leadership vote.
That’s what she wants, Adrian sent through the private channel that he and Marc had labored on for the last weeks. Maybe we should let it happen…Hearing Adrian doubt his own plans sent fury through Marc and he mentally snarled, Put her back to work!Yes, boss, Adrian retorted snidely. He didn’t send his next thought and Marc was glad. Leaving Angie here, alone with his rival, was a bitter pill to swallow.We never had to be rivals, Adrian reminded him tiredly. And then slammed the door to break their connection, telling Marc he wouldn’t have any contact with Angie while she was in the cave. A bit of payback for how being banished had felt.Marc gritted his teeth and led the convoy toward the meeting place that Kyle’s Special Forces team had already secured. He had his job to distract him, thankfully, but it wouldn’t always be this way. Something would give or break with Adrian before they fled the mountains. He’d had enough of living this way. Big changes were coming.

March News and Notes

Happy Spring! It’s finally coming! Windows open this week and everything. It was wonderful. Sigh. That’s about all the good news I have right now. The entire family has been down for weeks with this stomach illness, making it impossible for me to work, even if I had felt well enough to. The Marc and Angie backstory has been delayed until the end of the month, as well as the remaining blog posts on here. I’ll pick back up with the schedule around April 1st, I hope. In fact, even the sound of his voice was mostly ignored. People inside Safe Haven had more problems than a former leader hanging around. Marc had told them everything that was coming. He refused to lie anymore and the result was a very twitchy camp that needed reassurances from their seer that weren’t coming. Angela wasn’t in any condition to communicate or handle duties. The doctors had agreed to keep her sedated since all she did was cry when awake. Even when Marc was with her, the tears were constant and that man wasn’t sure how much more of it he could handle. He wanted his Angie back, even if she was a cruel, self-centered bitch.They’d talked a little and he understood why she’d made the choices she had, but it didn’t stop the anger or the guilt. If she had told him what she planned, he would have helped, not interfered. She had no right to exclude him that way and then blame him for what went wrong. At the same time, if he had been able to follow her plans in the past, instead of always feeling the need to second-guess her choices, then maybe she would have confided in him. The gulf between them could hold towns.The rumbling was ignored by Safe Haven, who was aware of what Adrian was doing. Marc had told the camp that they would be hearing from him regularly while he closed down the mountain. Angela had sent him out to handle that chore alone, in the storm leftovers, with dazed, angry ants roaming everywhere. Marc still wasn’t sure if she was trying to kill Adrian, though he was rooting for it. He did hope she let him get the roads and paths secured first. There were too many threats in range for his liking. Marc wanted to challenge them all, but nothing would get him to go against Angela’s plans and plots right now. She’d only given a few orders since being brought down from the bloody mountain, and he was making sure they were followed. He didn’t want to bunker in here now. He wanted to rush out and meet Vlad’s townspeople with his fury. He didn’t want Adrian locking their doors, either, but that feeling was minor compared to his anger at the people who couldn’t let them have any peace. They’d fought for ten months to keep it together. They’d sacrificed and suffered enough. When did they get a real break?According to their witch, no break would come until they reached safety. People were now assuming that meant Pitcairn Island. Kendle had no idea how popular she would be when she returned. Some people thought she might just keep going, but Marc knew better. Kendle was terrified of being back on the ocean. She wanted to leave, but the methods were going to keep her with them a bit longer. Marc had wondered if she knew Angela and Adrian planned on a cruise ship. There was no way she would deal well with that and Marc was glad they would be pulling other boats that would need a skeleton crew. It would allow Kendle a different type of ship, at least for the journey that Angela had predicted would take over a month. Instead of foreign lands, flooded coasts, and the unlikely chance of making it back to the Gulf of Mexico, they were going to sail around South America. Marc was daunted and forever impressed with Angela’s courage and ambition. He also thought she was slightly nuts.Marc shrugged, leaning under the hot water. After everything the world had gone through in a short year, it was a wonder that the survivors weren’t all raging lunatics.“Ants are clear from all levels,” the radio on the rocky ledge crackled with Billy’s excited voice. They’d clearly had a battle. That rush of happy adrenaline came from surviving. Marc knew it well. He still craved it some days, but the apocalypse had already given him plenty of action. There was no danger of his skills getting rusty.Marc had already scrubbed and he lingered, enjoying the intense steam of a nearly scalding shower. He still hadn’t adjusted back to having this wonderful convenience. His showers, unless Angie was along, had mostly been quick to save water and let him get onto the next duty or challenge. Now, they were sheltering in place for a month and he could take all the time that he wanted.The bottom floor shower was empty around him, with only a set of guards who had snapped to when he came in and still hadn’t eased. Knowing their attention was securely on their job let Marc relax and he sank down on the seat beneath the ledge that held his guns and radio. He adjusted the water so that it was a hot trickle on his shoulders, then leaned his head back against the wall and closed his eyes. He had Kenn and Zack, with Kyle and Jennifer over them, covering the top level of their cave. Neil’s team was policing the second floor, with Daryl and Kendle overseeing two rookie teams on level three. Down here on level four, was Ray and most of Marc’s old team of Eagles. Things were being handled like Angela had instructed and Marc suddenly wished she was here with him so he could hold her in this cloud of peaceful steam and promise her things would get better, that the doctor was wrong.Her injuries were healing quicker than Jimmy was comfortable with, but even he was following his instructions to the letter-documenting descendant medical finds and sharing them with the other personnel. There were only a few differences, but they were huge and future generations would need that information. To cover his nervousness, the doctor was now traveling in a pack of students, using them to bolster his courage. Marc approved of the coping and the training. He’d thought the man would have to be run out because of his attitude, but Angela’s injury had revealed his attachment to her despite their love-hate relationship. He was giving her excellent care, according to Hilda and Peggy, who were always nearby.“Power has been reestablished in the gaming area. You may resume your free time there,” the radio echoed again, this time with Tonya’s calm voice. They were still repairing Jayson’s treachery. They were also fixing minor issues that would have come up anyway and Marc was satisfied with their shelter. If not for the coming problems, he would never agree to leave. These mountains were perfect. The surrounding areas would ruin it.Marc wondered how much time they had left before that crisis hit and shoved the thought away. This was his down time; time to think and restore his own faith. Plans and schemes would come when he had his guns back on.He turned off the water and tugged his towel down, draping it over his lap, he remained in the steam, enjoying the sensation. He hadn’t been in a sauna for a long time and the stone walls and floor in here made this a very similar experience. It reminded him of days he’d stolen for himself over the years. He had liked going to a ski lodge where no one knew him or an isolate camp ground if he felt like roughing it. Life after war was much like the life he’d had before the bombs, except the stress levels were through the roof and the supplies weren’t neatly delivered and stacked for his use. He’d always thought an apocalypse would make things easier in some ways, but he’d been wrong. The old world of convenience was gone and it surprised Marc to still be mourning it. He knew some of the camp was feeling this way too. It was hard not to with real running water and electric in the caves, but it was knowing they were leaving again that brought on this retrospective mindset. None of them were eager to go. Even those who believed this place to be cursed were busy enjoying the tv room, the game room, the activity floor. Despite the chaos that had taken place, Safe Haven was actually calm and relatively happy right now. Angela had lived, Vlad and his threat was gone, and there were no more refugees screaming at their gate. If not for the overcrowding and Angela’s predictions, things would be perfect.Marc winced as the image of Angela’s bloody body on the mountain ran through his mind. She’d told him he was in charge before fading out last night and he hadn’t argued. The camp already assumed he was, but she’d known it had to be official. Their witnesses, the doctors and students, had nodded in approval. They knew his leadership would be enough to get them through until she recovered, but it bothered Marc to hear the rest of that thought. We hope. Agree with her methods or not, these people knew she was the best person for the job. It made the urge to do better grow stronger.He had thought things were covered before the chaos wiped away his delusions of success. This time, he wouldn’t make that mistake. He was double and triple checking his plans and decisions, trying to look further ahead, like she and Adrian were able to do. He wasn’t sure if his short-sightedness could be unlearned but he was determined to try. He was also determined that he wouldn’t become corrupted the way their former leaders had been. He hated to include Angie in with Adrian, but the proof was undeniable. She’d known the avalanche was coming and let it happen to kill hundreds of desperate refugees. She’d taken life forces. It didn’t hurt him to be with someone who could do those things, but it was killing him inside to know that she’d fallen. She’d been full of good and light despite awful childhood events and even worse things as an adult, and he knew she was torn apart over it. His Angie had always been good. For that to change, meant she wasn’t at peace with herself anymore. She would need help through this.“But not from me,” he muttered, anger and pain rising. There was no way he could be unbiased. Intentional or not, her choices had cost him a child.Tears that no one else would ever see slid down Marc’s cheeks. His dreams of a happy family with Angie shattered and ran from his eyes in torrents. Book TidbitIt takes the average author (no such thing, imao) a year to write and be satisfied with a 500 page book. An entire year on one project. Why so long? That's crazy. Writers are known as 'flighty' or 'easily distracted' for only releasing one novel every 365 days, but consider this:A shopping list (1 page) takes roughly 15 minutes for someone going to the market and that is usually half a page with 1-3 words per line, for a total of 50-75 words. Now compare that with the last book you enjoyed. There are roughly 300 words per page. We have to multiply the grocery list by 4 to equal the amount of time spent on one page. Yes, you read that correctly. it can take an hour for an author to write just 1 page, or 300 words. That's why you have to wait so long for the next title in the series. Wisdom of the WeekIf the majority of people agree on something, does that make it a fact? After all, pier reviews are much the same thing and they've been forming science as we understand it since science began forming. If any of those piers weren't honest, imagine the unbelievable bullshit that people might actually think is true or good....perhaps that explains how Common Core is still persisting despite our attempts to 'lawsuit' it into submission.

Find me one.”Adrian grinned at the order, the choice. “Yes, ma’am.”Angela began throwing the darts, and neither of them was encouraged by the bad aim.“You haven’t been practicing,” he scolded.“No.” She didn’t tell him she’d been too busy trying to keep it all together alone. He knew what that was like.“Maybe you should teach that lesson to Marc,” he suggested, retrieving the darts. Most of them had bounced to the ground.“I’ve been trying not to corrupt him like we are, but there’s no choice, right?”“Not really,” Adrian answered, dropping the darts into her open palm without touching her, as she’d commanded. “Time will do it anyway. Right now, he doesn’t understand what it’s like to have two awful choices to pick from. If he knew what that felt like, you two might be able to bridge the gap and actually have a conversation.”Angela didn’t ask if he’d gotten that from her. It had come from Marc, who was desperate to have her recovered and back in charge so that he could return to his sullen attitude of accusations phrased as questions.“I haven’t told him anything,” Adrian said quietly, moving away so she could throw again. “He’ll ask for an update on you soon, I think.”Angela’s mind was already overcrowded with the thoughts and plans that she’d refused to allow in until now. She shoved it all out in one huge slam of the door. The shot has been fired

*No, this is not a new book. This actually happened. I'm not surprised that you didn't know. The media hasn't reported much of what's going on.

A cold chill went through me as I watched the videoof what I will now call a murder. Ambushed, surrounded by firing guns, the man still had his hands up as he collapsed to the snow in shock at what was happening. Shots continued to plunge into his bleeding, unarmed body, as well as the vehicle where more unarmed men and women were trapped. A cowardly barrage of gunfire from authorities ended the life of a leader, a foster-father, and a constitution-following American.

We were told he rushed at police. It clearly didn’t happen. We were told only a few shots were fired. That’s a blatant lie. You can still shots pinging off the truck minutes after he was down. We were told they found a 9mm on him when the man carried a Colt. Except at the town meetings, where he’d been going, UNARMED, for weeks. That’s where they were headed, btw-to a peaceful meeting with the sheriff and locals. The FBI had already refused to let media tape the negotiations and sent them away a few hours before it all happened. If  LaVoy desired a shootout, why didn’t he have the gun in his hand when he jumped from the truck? Don’t both sides have to fire to even call it a shootout? Why didn’t the officers immediately go to his body to disarm him or give medical help?  You can see his arm moving after he’s down. They let him bleed out right there in the snow. Why was he shot in the back while his hands were up? Why was he shot again while on the ground? What did the unarmed passengers do to deserve that final hail of bullets? They’re clearly trapped in the car by the snowbank and the only people firing are the authorities. Not to mention, the video is from a drone that just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and you can easily tell that it HAS been edited. Why isn’t there audio? Why didn’t it show what happened to make LaVoy hit the gas? If they were being arrested, why didn’t the cops take them out of the vehicle when they put their hands out the windows? Why wait? Hoping one of them would make a movement that could be considered hostile, like reaching for a phone to call a lawyer? I can’t wait for LaVoy’s phone records to come out, showing he was calling for help when someone fired from that first stop and sent him fleeing for his life.Why did an officer jump in front of the truck at the roadblock and open fire through the windshield? That isn’t proper procedure in any type of encounter. Even the charges are bullshit. He hadn’t committed a single crime, so they invented one to have a reason to pull that truck over. This wasn’t a felony stop. It also wasn’t like any normal stop of known unarmed people that I’ve ever seen. Besides all that, conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties shouldn’t be a death sentence even if the man was guilty of it! If this had happened in any of the places where we’ve witnessed riots over unarmed people being shot, the town would already be in flames and mobs would be in the streets threatening reactionary violence. But this wasn’t a black kid or a criminal, just a patriot who knew the constitution and had a chance of actually making a difference in our corrupt government by exposing their horrific deeds.
Many folks watching this ‘standoff’ believe that LaVoy was murdered to provoke patriots into reacting so that either huge gun bans can be pushed or worse, so another civil war will start and Martial Law can be declared to keep Obama in office to finish destroying our country.  If that was indeed the plan, it may have succeeded. This might be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back. The ripples have begun to spread. People are packing up to head to Oregon and other sites. They’re bunkering in with their groups, calling meetings, and safe houses are being arranged. Plans are forming to protest and do sit-ins in government offices and on public lands like those that LaVoy chose for his last stand, and the Oregon authorities are being hit with emails and calls from outraged Americans across the country. The official word from groups such as the Oath Keepers had been to stand by until the video came out, but now we have the evidence. Even without audio, it’s clear they ambushed him with no intentions of doing anything but getting rid of him while he was on his way, UNARMED, to a town meeting. The government openly cut the head off what they consider a snake that could have dislodged the hold they have over everyone.
There are people who will say he got what he deserved for fleeing, or that they all deserved to be shot down dead like dogs. To those people, I have two responses: First, you obviously don’t care about the real story and don’t understand the constitution. Thanks to the gun laws in Oregon, these people did nothing more than any homeless camp in the middle of a city has done for years-refuse to leave-and we don’t see police murdering those people. There are mines and deposits on that land filled with valuable resources. Hillary has already sold the rights to the uranium, to the Russians. That scandal broke recently. What do you mean you didn’t know that?! You think these patriots should die, but you don’t what they’re dying for?!
And that’s my second response. If you don’t know what’s going on and can’t be bothered to read the stories of the hundreds of ranchers in Nevada, Idaho, Oregon (and others) who’ve had their land vandalized and illegally fenced, had their paid-for grazing rights revoked without cause, watched their animals burned alive, had their employees terrorized and their family homes stolen, why are you about to comment? Do you know that the BLM forced these ranchers to give them first rights to their land if they ever decided to sell? What do you mean how is that connected to the ‘standoff’?! Did you read a couple of biased media articles and spew your ignorance all over the internet for everyone to see or did you even once google any of it for yourself? There were live video feeds into the refuge. Did you watch any of these so-called terrorists while they ate, prayed, and discussed the constitution? They gave live interviews. Did you watch them? Perhaps if they had looted something, you might have paid more attention…
Here’s another question for those who wanted the ‘occupiers’ removed by an means necessary: Did you know the government can’t legally own land unless it’s for bases, barracks, or munitions buildings, yet they currently own 90% of the west by designating it as tribal lands (never been a tribe on the refuge in question here-look it up.) or preserves, or other government controlled areas like a refuge? They then quietly clear the resources while we play on Facebook, shipping them off to whomever made the best offer. In this situation, it was the Russians. Did you know that Russia now controls 51% of the world’s uranium supply? Thank Hilary and our current administration for that, but it’s just one of the countless ways that both sides of that power-hungry authority has sold us out over the last 30-40 years. The truth is there for those brave enough to seek it. Do the research, act like an American, and then come back outraged that your government has once again betrayed you and everyone else. Or just keep on supporting the enemy. Eventually, they'll betray you openly as well and then your tune will change, but we won't listen then. Unfortunetly, its time to pick a side.Do you suddenly have the feeling you shouldn’t be on my wall/blog/sites anymore? If so, that comes from a couple of issues and they’re yours, not mine.  I run on facts. You believe the lies. I’m capable of waiting for the proof and then believing what I see even when it’s awful. You made a conclusion and you’re sticking to it even when the evidence is here. I could go on, but why bother? If you can’t tell the difference between right and wrong, I don’t care what your views are, how many of my books you’ve bought, or how much we have in common. This was a setup, an ambush out where there was no chance for help from anyone. This was murder. If you can’t understand that, you really shouldn’t be here anyway. My stories, which are full of people fighting this type of behavior and control, are only going to give you grief. You may think I’ve flipped, or can’t separate reality from fiction. That’s your right, but please keep in mind that you didn’t even know how Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada were connected, let alone that the mineral rights are being sold off by the very woman who wants to be elected ruler of the free world. Maybe you’re the one who flipped and can’t see the trees through the forest…
All right, Eagles, Patriots, and Pissed-off Persons of Interest. What can we legally do about it? Here’s a list:
*Sign this petitiondemanding that the DOJ investigate.
*Bombard officials and the Attorney General with letters, calls, and emails. Here are those numbers and addresses. Click their names for their official government website contact pages.
The sheriff is Dave Ward. Supposedly, it was his men doing all the shooting in the video.
Harney County Judge and Commissioners
The Governor is Kate Brown.
Here are the Oregon Senators and Representatives.
This is the Oregon Dept of Justice.
This is the US Dept of Justice, who need to investigate this from top to bottom.
*Join your local militia. They, WE, need you. This site has a great list by state, but you can just as easily type in “local militia for” and then add your state.
*Prep harder and faster so that you can last if things do go crazy.
*Organize marches and protests.
*Spread the video showing that an unarmed patriot was killed in cold blood, with his hands up. Share the video and point out the errors:
1-Reaching to the opposite side for a gun he wasn’t carrying? He was shot and reaching for the wound.
2-Was known to carry a Colt .45 on his right hip, but according to the FBI ... is said to have reached toward his left pocket with his right hand, for a 9mm. Have you ever tried to take your keys from your left pocket, with your right hand, while bundled up for the snow? Hard, huh? Now imagine trying that with a gun during a shootout when you have to get the holster unsnapped first, as you stagger through a deep snow drift.
2-Already shot at before he even got out of the vehicle, which made him flee the road block. Any of us would have done the same at that life or death moment.
2-Tell people he was unarmed. The few people still at the refuge have all the weapons of the people in the truck. They were going to a peaceful meeting, not a shootout, and they were ALL unarmed.
3-Ask the why the cops/agents continued to fire after he fell, with his hands still up and no weapon in sight?
4-Why was the truck hit with a barrage of gunfire when there were unarmed men and women inside who couldn’t get out due to the snowbank they were stuck in?
5-Point out the drone taking the footage, and the sniper in the trees.
6-Ask them why the supposed weapon wasn’t immediately removed from the body or why they didn’t try to get him any medical care.
7-Demand to know why he was shot in the back.
8-Ask why unarmed passengers sustained gunshot injuries in a shootout where the cops had the only guns.
9-Why isn’t there audio?
10-Why didn’t it show what happened to make LaVoy hit the gas? Was it perhaps because his lawyer told him to get out of there or did someone open fire without cause from behind him?
11-If they were being arrested, why didn’t the cops take them out of the vehicle when they put their hands out the windows? Why wait? Hoping one of them would make a movement that could be considered hostile, like reaching for a phone?

I’ve said my piece, loudly and offensively, as is my right as an American citizen. Please feel free to share, copy/paste, or trash it as you deem fit. The facts, the truth, and the law must come together. The leaders have to emerge from hiding and take their rightful places. The people have to shout support until their voices are gone. Why? Because if we do nothing, this won’t be the last murder. When they see we won’t do anything, they’ll go after our members until we don’t have the strength to keep fighting and by strength, I mean those who would lead us. The longer we wait, the more good people we lose.
Over the next weeks, we need protests and media coverage in every state. And since they can edit voice clips, use words. Paint signs, print shirts, use iron-on designs for coats and scarves to ask the 14 questions above. If it’s in every clip, every shot, every view of the cars going by, we will succeed in getting the word out. If you can afford it, rent space in the papers that are denying the truth. If they refuse to print your peacefully written ad, you can sue them. You can even rent a billboard in a major city for only $150.00 a month through Lamar. Do these things offline and online. People without internet access only have the media and ALL the channels are controlled or owned by people like the Saudis. Didn’t know that, right? Please, please go look these things up! That’s how the government has managed to get away with so many atrocities against innocent people.
I’m finished for the moment. I’m going to start on my own list and let my voice be heard in as many ways as I can afford to and then beyond. Some things are worth fighting for.

I much enjoyed your knowledgeable personality and was delighted by how you used the constitution at every turn to deny their outright lies during the interviews that the media cut off to keep the sheep from knowing how smart you really were. The shot that killed you is ringing, calling, and I have faith that we, the people, will answer it with honor.
