Your Opinion on: Vanity
Is Vanity something bad?
I’ve finished publishing the first 12th chapters of my new book The Winner Stands Alone (I published nearly 1/10 of the book on line). The final chapter - on line - is about vamity. King Solomon starts the Ecclesiastes saying : “Vanity of vanities. All is vanity”. Somehow vanity can destroy a person but can also puch a person to become a better human being.
So nothing is absolute and I would like to hear your opinion on that. Mostly about your experiences with the good si

Association of the week : The Cavern
Caverns symbolize the secret access to the underworld.
They are the eldest places of cult that humanity knows. During the Ice Age, it is believed that men already regarded caverns as being from another world.
Cavern are omnipresent in virtually all traditional cultures. The Aztecs for instance believed that caverns were the creators of the world, whilst the Mayas linked caverns with the goddess of the moon - linking then the earth, the waters and fertility in the same symbolic ensemble.

The everyday masters
Paulo Coelho
Outside the city of Oslo is getting ready for winter. I am chatting in the bar with a very popular European singer. We talk about fame and success, and at a certain moment she asks me if I have anything important to teach her.
“Of course not,” I answer. “You lead your life like someone who knows that one day they are going to die, and that is what is most important. Nevertheless, I can propose a task for you: for the next six months, keep a diary called “the everyday master.” We alway

Today’s Question by the reader : Larraine
Hello,
I have read your book the alchemist, and I was wondering where is the best place to write a book that is so intriguing? Is any place more inspirational than another?
I write virtually anywhere. When I wrote The Alchemist for instance I was in my apartment in Rio de Janeiro. In the other hand, in the case of my book The Zahir, I wrote it while traveling in Europe and Kazakhstan.
Having said this, I only write every two years and the very act of writing a book takes from 2 weeks to a month.

Guilt and forgiveness - Part II
Paulo Coelho
Here is a beautiful story that illustrates precisely what I mean:
When he was small, Cosroes had a teacher who helped him to become an outstanding student in all his subjects. One afternoon, the teacher punished him severely, apparently for no reason.
Years later, Cosroes acceded to the throne. One of his first actions was to summon his former schoolmaster and demand an explanation for the injustice he had committed.
‘Why did you punish me when I had done nothing wrong?’ he asked.
