Hey Azra, I am so sorry to come to ur askbox to say this, I just didn't know where to go. Im a 19 year old muslim girl who wants to move away from my abusive father because of the toll it is taking on my mental health but Im scared if I leave he'll take it

I’ve learned recently that people are always going to do what they’re going to do. You can’t stop them and you can’t change them. You’ll be stuck there forever if you think of all the negative effects you leaving might have on your family. Your father probably isn’t going to change. You staying won’t make him change and will only cause you more unhappiness. I left home recently and it was one of the hardest best decisions I’ve made. My family are very loving and caring but they’re remarkably difficult sometimes. My mum said that my leaving would make her ill, or that I’d give my dad a heart attack or any number of horrible things and they’re fine. They’re all fine. They’re healing.
