"If I breathe you in and you breathe me out, I swear we can breathe forever. I swear I’ll find summer..."

“If I breathe you in and you breathe me out, I swear we can breathe forever. I swear I’ll find summer in your winter and spring in your autumn and always, hands at the ends of your fingers, arms at the ends of your shoulders and I swear, when we run out of forever, when we run out of air, your name will be the last word that my lungs make air for.”

“in front of my mother and my sisters,

i pretend love is cheap and vulgar.

i act like it’s a sin–

i pretend that love is for women on a dark path.

but at night i dream of a love so heavy

it makes my spine throb–

i dream up a lover who makes love like he is separating salt from water.”

how'd you meet him, did he fall in love with you as quickly as the rest of us did?

right here, and no, it took him a while longer. he wrote me a silly little Limerick and i said “you make it hard not to love you.” and he freaked out and told me not to say that and didn’t talk to me for two hours and then he called whilst he was driving to see his sister and said “i love you, i really really love you” and that’s the whole story

Gravity

mdeeks:

It’s her,

She has me

More than gravity

She holds me

Loves the worst of me

I caught her stealing glances

Like I’m something to watch

And now, I’m in her arms

I’m in her lap

Trying to recover

What’s mine, what’s hers,

I know my physics, I’m prone

If gravity ever let me go

I would fly

Whir

mdeeks:

There was someone else.

A screenshot,

A photograph.

A glimpse

Of a meeting of minds,

Two strangers in the night

Momentarily compatible, then

Unravelling

I never felt shelter, not parent

Not wife, nor child

But then, sweet you, my baby,

Pressing your flowers

Nothing is left to wilt and die.

Life is bright for you,

You feel it all

How do you do that?

Feel everything without running away,

Without folding?

Why do you seek refuge in my hurricane?

When the skies are wide and peaceful

Under your command

When there is a choice,

When there is a life to greet,

When all do snap their necks to watch you pass

Them by?

I stumble. It’s a constant.

You are sure and still

When I feel you I am in the eye,

I see the walls but I also see the blues of a heaven,

There is a grief raining on me and you hold me

As if it is I who is the mast

“The lover who came before

carried another girl in his arms —

weak-kneed and pliant, all her milk-

skin, falling

like tallow from her cheeks.

In some semblance of affection

we picked each other apart —

bickered over the remnants

choking on our own throats

I left him in that train station.

Pulling his teeth from his gums,

throwing up love and love and love,

the disaster of it,

the utter fury that it left behind.

Oh my god you look like a celestial being descended from the clouds to give me a quest and also judge me a little

I love that idea, I’m gonna try and emulate it more often ♥️
