Why I Wrote This Book

Hi everyone,

My name is Sergei Toder. I’m a movement therapist, rehabilitation specialist, and physical education teacher. For many years, I’ve been working on restoring the health of children with autism spectrum disorders. Most of the children I work with are between the ages of 3 and 10 — especially those aged 3 to 5.

Over the years, I’ve come to an important realization:
Instead of focusing on “brain dysfunction,” we need to pay attention to the child’s body — the biomechanics of the rib cage, the role of the diaphragm, and the basic muscle cycle of contraction and relaxation. The simple movement patterns that underlie the development of every healthy person — in many children, these patterns simply aren’t there.

I believe we’re wasting precious time on therapies that children don’t need during the early stages of recovery. That’s why I decided to share a new, practical approach.

In my book, I offer recovery algorithms based on breathing, muscle activity, and biomechanics — all drawn from real-life practice.

In this blog, I will continue to share my observations and insights, born directly from the process of current rehabilitation work.
