Now on Goodreads: The Sign of Victoria

I’m thrilled to announce that my newest novel, The Sign of Victoria, is now live on Goodreads!

This supernatural thriller follows seven college friends who check into a beautiful Victorian house The Sign of Victoria: A Supernatural Thriller only to find themselves trapped in a deadly game tied to a mysterious gold queen card. Each level of the house reveals more than just fear… it reveals who they really are.

If you enjoy haunted mansions, psychological twists, and stories where not everyone makes it out alive, I hope you’ll add this one to your Want to Read shelf and join me on the journey.

🕯️📖
Thank you for supporting me as a Lumbee and Deaf author and for reading books that come from both the spirit and the shadows.

DEEPLY GRATEFUL

I don’t even have words. Just tears. Just gratitude. Just… wow.
Today I received an email from the Lumbee Tribe recognizing me as the author of Signs from the Spirit and The Sign of Victoria.
As a proud Lumbee and Deaf woman, this moment means everything.
Thank you, Chief John Lowery, Tasha Oxendine, and Taylor Davis.
I will carry this with me in every word I write.

Signs from the Spirit Reaches Library Archives

I’m filled with pride and gratitude to share that my book, Signs from the Spirit, is now officially archived in three libraries that reflect my voice, my culture, and my journey as a Deaf Lumbee author:

📚 Gallaudet University Library – Washington, D.C.

📚 Robeson Community College Library – Lumberton, NC

📚 University of North Carolina at Pembroke – Pembroke, NC

At Robeson and Pembroke, I donated two copies each  one to be preserved in their archives, and one for students to read and engage with freely. At Gallaudet, I contributed a signed copy for cultural preservation.

These libraries are more than buildings they are places of memory, truth, and visibility. Being represented on their shelves means that Indigenous and Deaf stories are not only being written  they are being kept.

I created this visual map to mark the moment:

To everyone who believed in Signs from the Spirit, thank you. This milestone is for every voice that’s been overlooked or unheard.

With love,

What “Extraordinary” Means to Me

I received an official letter from U.S. Senator Thom Tillis recognizing me as an “extraordinary North Carolinian” for my advocacy as a Deaf and Lumbee author.

I share what that word truly means to me on my blog today:

Honored Invitation: Meeting with Chairman John Lowery

I’m honored to share that I’ve been invited to meet with Chairman John Lowery of the Lumbee Tribe this Wednesday, August 7, 2025, in recognition of my advocacy as a Deaf and Lumbee author.

This meeting means so much to me a moment I’ve hoped and prayed for.

Thank you to the Lumbee Tribe for this invitation and for acknowledging my voice.

My Meeting with Lumbee Chairman John Lowery

Today was a moment I’ll never forget.
I had the honor of meeting with Chairman John Lowery of the Lumbee Tribe to share my books and journey as a Deaf Lumbee author. We cried together about our fathers, and he gifted me the first Chairman’s Coin he has ever given along with coins for my children and Pow Wow tickets.

He told me my story inspired him to write a book.
That meant everything.

Thank you to Tasha Oxendine for capturing the moment and sharing it on the official Lumbee Tribe Facebook page.
