Autism Speaks
I'm a rather boring person...being an introvert, even social media is hard for me. But, seeing as today is Autism Awareness day I figured I would post something today.
If you have read my Eternal Series, you know that the only children that are left on the earth in those books are the children with Autism and Down Syndrome. It's not because there's anything wrong with them, but in fact it's because they're truly special children and only they have the ability to save mankind.
The reason I put those children as Autistic and with Down Syndrome is because far too often children with disabilities are looked down upon. I have Autistic family members, and I learned first hand how special they are...and intelligent.
I wanted to share that feeling with the world...or at least as many readers as I get for that series.
So spread the word on Autism Awareness!! They are unique individuals, and like all others, deserve respect.
