Heist Society optioned by Pitch Perfect producers

Hi everyone,

Secret #2 has broken, and boy is it Aca-Awesome…

Heist Society has been optioned by Lionsgate (yes, the studio that brought us Hunger Games) and Max Handelman & Elizabeth Banks (yes, Effie Trinket herself)!

As most of you probably know, Pitch Perfect was my favorite movie of last year.

There are too few movies that feature women–much less movies that feature bright, capable YOUNG women. Pitch Perfect has been one of very few exceptions to that in recent histo...

What Beth said

Hi, everybody! And a happy Saturday to you all.

I know a lot of you out there are interested in writing. Well…not just writing. But BECOMING WRITERS.

And…see…not just writers but PUBLISHED AUTHORS.

And I’m pretty sure not just published authors but SUCCESSFUL, CAREER-HAVING MEGA AUTHORS.

Basically, I get the sense that a whole lot of you want to be Suzanne Collins. And you want to be Suzanne Collins right-freaking-now.

And, hey, I can’t blame you. Rarely a day goes by that I don’t want to write so...

Ally’s Answers

Hi All!

But I wanted Zach to come from a place that is exactly the opposite. That is why the Gallagher Girls live in a mansion and Blackthorne is basically a prison.

I had a really hard time thinking up a n...

I had a crazy week last week and didn’t get your questions to Ally until yesterday so…..I won’t have answers until later this week!

But to make it up to you I am going to give you an excerpt from United We Spy!

It was dark when the jet finally landed. I’m sure I must have slept on the long ride over the Atlantic, but I didn’t really remember. I just stared out the window: watching, thinking, waiting for something, but what, I didn’t know.

On the tarmac, Agent Townsend whispered something...

Movie try outs

What follows is an honest, genuine, and hopefully helpful post about having “try outs” for movies.

I get this question a lot. As in every day. As in multiple times a day.

In fact, I’ve already answered it several times, but such is the way of the world. I will answer it here and…you know…tomorrow someone will ask it again. And yet I feel myself compelled to answer it tonight because tonight is the night I snap.

Okay. Here goes.

Again, I don’t want to be flippant or condescending. I’m trying to HO...
