ASK MIMI #1: The Zombie Apocalypse & Balancing Writing with Marriage

Well, hello! Id like to WELCOME everyone to my first ASK MIMI column! Ive already received some VERY interesting questions from you all. Youre going to LURRRV the two I picked for today.
For those wondering why the hell Ive decided to write a column, I think its a fair question. I mean, what qualifies me to give anyone advice, right? Absolutely nothing! Or maybe everything? Kind of depends on what youre asking.
But heres my rationale:
I get questions from people all the time, including...ASK MIMI – #1

Well, hello! I’d like to WELCOME everyone to my first ASK MIMI column! I’ve already received some VERY interesting questions from you all. You’re going to LURRRV the two I picked for today.
For those wondering why the hell I’ve decided to write a column, I think it’s a fair question. I mean, what qualifies me to give anyone advice, right? Absolutely nothing! Or maybe everything? Kind of depends on what you’re asking.
But here’s my rationale:
I get questions from people all the time,...

BADASS IMMORTAL WARRIOR SEEKING MRS. RIGHT: Inquire Within

The Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. Series is back! And this
time, the gods’ fiercest warrior is hoping to find single women to date his
men.
Why?
Great question. First, there’s a plague, but it only affects single immortals. Everyone with a mate is immune. Second, his men are some pretty tough dudes, so finding women who’ll be into their warrior ways isn’t easy. Third, Brutus, our awesome hero, just had his heart broken and he needs a good distraction.
So when the gods ask him to seek ...

I finally watched the new Fantasy Island movie…
I finally watched the new Fantasy Island movie last night. I actually like it! A lot! But my readers were right!!!! There were more than a few similarities to my Mr. Rook series.
The show did inspire my dark suspense, but it was REALLY weird seeing Mr. Rooks house! Exactly as I described it in my book.
Then theres the fountain/water underground at the heart of the island? The spirit stalking the guests. The fountain of youth aspect for Roarkes wife.
I cant say for sure the screen writer read...

THE LIFE OF A ROMANCE EDITOR
Hi All!
Mimi here. Im not sure about you, but Ive been busy, busy, busy getting my next OHellNo book ready, WINE HARD, BABY! (Coming this month!) Anyway, instead of hearing from me, I thought it would be fun for my readers to hear from one of the awesome people who work behind the scenes to bring these books to life! With that, it gives me great pleasure to introduce STEPHANIE ELLIOT, who recently worked on WINE HARD with me!
So, if youve ever wondered what its like to be a romance editor,...

If You Could Have One Wish, What Would it Be?
It’s an interesting question, right? I mean, it sounds easy at first, but when you really, truly start to think about it, the decision isn’t so straight forward. Do you wish for something completely selfless, like the cure to cancer? Do you wish for loads of money? Do you wish to undo the past or bring back a loved one? Maybe you’d wish to look a certain way or be young forever. So many choices!
In WISH, the heroine Ginnie must decide. Of course, she doesn’t really believe in magic or...

FIVE REASONS WHY VAMPIRES MAKE TERRIBLE ASSISTANT LIBRARIANS
1. THEY HATE SHARING.
It’s true! Little known fact but vampires really hate people touching their stuff. In the case of Michael Vanderhorst, the assistant librarian in my Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series, he’s especially touchy when it comes to books. He accredits this to his territorial nature, but whatever the case, it makes him a horrible library employee. He literally gets the heebie jeebies anytime he has to touch a used book.
2. THEY’RE UNRELIABLE WHEN IT COMES TO SCHEDULES.
It’s...

IS THAT A HUGE PEN IN YOUR POCKET OR ARE YOU JUST HAPPY TO SEE THIS BOOK?
Well, I know I’m happy! Because MY PEN IS HUGE is finally here! It’s book #5 of the OHellNo Series, but don’t worry. They’re all standalones! Read one. Read them all. I just hope you enjoy the enemies-to-lovers stories with a sprinkle of wrong. (So many wrong, wrong moments! LOL.)
Yanno, it’s kind of funny. When I started this series, I envisioned it being purely Sports Romance for New Adult, but I quickly realized that the jock/nerd trope would become repetitive.
After book #2, Oh, Henry,...

WRITING FICTION. IT’S NOT ROCKET SURGERY.
Nope! LOL. Being a fiction writer certainly isn’t rocket surgery. It’s actually tougher than that. As my kids will tell you, rocket surgery is a level up from rocket science. “It’s super hard, Mom! I mean, like, how many rocket surgeons do you know?” Ha! So true. They got me there.
[image error][image error]But as corny as it sounds, maybe they’re right. Rocket surgery is a tough profession! It requires the intellect of a rocket scientist, the unwavering confidence of a skilled surgeon, and the creative mind to envi...
