Kreativ Blogger Award

Virgina, from Poeta Officium, has nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! (Let me apologize now for the awards that I've received in the past that I haven't acknowledged yet. I'll get there!) Virginia has some great posts about her writing, and how she gets through her writing troubles. Go check her out and follow her!

List 7 things about myself that my readers would find interesting……

1) I scream in a metal band – Praxia.

2) I've developed an intense love for the steampunk genre.

3)  I love ...

I Never Was Very Good With Names

Let me start by saying a  huge thank you to everyone who gave me feedback on chapter 1 of my third novel! It really means a lot to me, and I'm glad you all enjoyed it!

Now, here is my dilemma. I'm bad with names. I forget people's names all the time until I see them a few times. I remember faces quite well, but not names.  This is especially a bit of an issue with my third novel.

I really love the name Infernal Inventions. It's fitting for the book, because it is about inventors...

Excerpt: London Darkness: Infernal Inventions: Chapter 1

This is an excerpt from my third novel, Infernal Inventions.

Infernal Inventions is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are the product of the author's imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, events, or locales is entirely coincidental.

Excerpt: Infernal Inventions: Chapter 1

This is an excerpt from my third novel, Infernal Inventions.

Ryker sat behind his iron desk in the corner of his laboratory. The smell of sulfur burned his nostrils, but he loved it. He leaned backward and the old chair gave a loud squeak. He laced his fingers behind his head and groaned; his muscles stretching as he looked at the revolver in front of him.

He smiled and picked it up. The handle fit perfectly in his hand. It had carved grooves in the front for extra comfort and engraved along...

I Love Writing This Much

[image error]I love writing enough to get it permanently inked on my arm. I'm a big tattoo enthusiast, and I always appreciate a good tattoo. My artist always does a fantastic job, and I always love the work he produces.

I had been doing some thinking a few weeks ago, and I decided that getting a quill pen tattoo would be a great way to express how much I love writing. My artist drew this up for me, which is even better that just a quill pen. I plan to have the book filled in with a gold-yellow color, but ...

Your Automatic Message Doesn't Impress me

I was following back some people on Twitter this morning, and shortly after I received a DM, (Direct Message for those out there not so Twitter savvy), from someone I had just re-followed. Before I even opened the message I knew what it was. It was a generic

"Hey, thanks for following me on Twitter, I'm pretending to be really interested in what you're doing by telling you to chat with me, even though chances are slim that I'll answer you and we can have an engaging conversation. Really, I'm...

We're all a Bunch of Liars!

Whilst browsing through the quotes on Goodreads, I came upon one by Mark Twain that got me thinking:

"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." ― Mark Twain

Fiction writers, myself included, are all a bunch of liars. But, not liars in the bad sense. You're not a liar that deserves to be hanged in front of your peers. Don't be so hasty. In fact, liars fiction writers are some of my favorite people!

This also reminds me of something my creative writing teacher told us the other ...

What Makes us Bad Writers?

It seems that nowadays, everyone is talking about how to be a good writer. Well, they have good reason for doing such things. I think about it all the time, actually. What can I do to make that sentence better? How can I improve my writing? How can I improve my characters?

However, I feel that some of this can be slightly opinion based. I think that in order to find out what we need to better ourselves as writers, we need to figure out what exactly makes us bad writers. Well, here is my

Peeking over my Shoulder

Peeking ManFor some reason, it bothers me when I'm working on my novel and people are looking over my shoulder. Or, at least I think they're looking over my shoulder. I'm not sure why this bothers me, but for some reason it's just something I can't stand. It's strange. I mean, as a writer, I base everything on other people reading my work. Therefore, being bothered by someone looking over my shoulder while I write really shouldn't bother me.

I think it partially may be because I'm worried that whoever...

Line by Line, One at a Time

Wow, is all I have to say. Not even the good kind of "wow!" But the kind of wow that makes you want to go back in time, slap your former self in the face, and just scream "what is wrong with you?!"

One of the wonderful followers here at Write to Perfect gave me an opinion on my book, Bloodcrest.

WARNING: BAD PR AHEAD

The review really knocked me down a step. However, despite the fact that the review was far from good (It was well written of course), it gave me some insight on myself as a...
