My thoughts after reading: "Selling Scarlett" by Ella James

Selling Scarlett by Ella James

Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this - one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and...

For almost-16 year-old Anne Devans, the annual Renaissance Faire means three
things—her dad spending weeks in the smithy, her bipolar mom doing some manic
costume making, and another ruined birthday for her and her twin sister,
Mary.

This year, Anne wants things to be different, and sh...

My thoughts after reading: Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy

Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy

Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double...

My thoughts after reading "Stir Me Up" by Sabrina Elkins

I have to start out by saying I really enjoyed “Stir Me Up” by Sabrina Elkins much more than I thought I would. When I first began reading I had a slight disconnect with the characters and was worried it would continue throughout the book. I’m so glad I rarely put a book down without finishing it, because I would have missed out on a great story with so much depth.

Yes, it’s a love story. Cami and Julian are great characters and their love story is poignant and gives you the tingles u...

My thoughts after reading "Lengths," by Liz Reinhardt and Steph Campbell

Lengths (Lengths, #1) Lengths by Steph Campbell

I don’t know what I expected when I started reading Lengths, but it sure wasn’t that it would blow me away. I loved the book. It’s that simple. It is an awesome story of guilt, learning to forgive oneself, the power of love, and learning to accept and rely on the people who love you for who you are—faults and all. Even when the faults you think you have aren’t really faults at all.

The writing style was excellent. I loved it. It fit the characters personalities an...

The Darkest Part, by Trisha Wolfe

Pressing the boundaries of both the psyche and the heart, Sam and Holden embark on a dangerous journey that will test the limits of love.

My thoughts after reading Anomaly by Krista McGee

Anomaly (Anomaly #1) Anomaly by Krista McGee

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As anyone who’s read my reviews already knows (and is most likely sick to death of hearing), I am huge on first sentences of books. I base a lot of my decision to read or not to read a book on that one small sentence. Right or wrong, there it is. And Anomaly had a killer first sentence. Score one for Ms. McGee—she had me at hello, to quote a really over used line (I hear you all groaning.)

The second thing Anomaly had going for it was the pl...

My thoughts after reading: Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst

Searching for Someday (Love Spells, #1)

Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst

I really enjoyed “Searching for Someday”—much more than I thought I would. I primarily read young adult and new adult books since those are the genres I write, but this was a nice change up.

I really loved the idea of the "touch" and the matchmaking company combined. It was a cute idea and the author pulled it off wonderfully without making it too cheesy.

I liked the characters, although sometimes I found Kate's interactions with Slade a lit...

I'm thrilled to be a part of the cover reveal for Jennifer Murgia's novel, "Forest of Whispers." The cover, done by Lisa Amowitz, is beautiful, as always. I love it! And the book sounds awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.
