Book Teaser #6 for “Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus”

And the countdown continues to August 28th for the new release date for Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus.  And here’s another book teaser for you:

“Demto awoke quickly from a troubled nightmare.  He lifted up his hand to his face, and in the dim light of dawn could see that his palm was covered with sweat, while his hand was shaking as if he were sick.  He hadn’t had a nightmare in eons, not since the Bloody War.

Jolus the Malignant had released one of his accursed creatures, Demto could feel it; the wizard also realized that he would be useless and powerless against it.  Kyra was in trouble, he had to warn her.”

Book Teaser #5 for “Kyra the First Book of Enchantus”

And the countdown resumes to August 28th for the new release date for Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus.  And here’s another book teaser for you:

“The scar lines were a distinguishable white from the rest of his hand.  He knew he’d always had a bit of problem believing the wound was caused by a sharp piece of glass.  To make such a wound, he would’ve had to drag the glass repeatedly, cutting deep into his skin and causing unimaginable pain.  And that the scar had simply grown in size as he great older.  He knew it made little sense; over the years he’d told himself that the old scar mixed with new ones from all the farm work he did.  It was something he didn’t like to talk about, and rarely looked at because it was so ugly.  But now . . .”

Kyra Update & Final Cover

Okay, looks like it’s still going to be a little while longer for the book release as there are still “technical difficulties.”  So here’s what we’re going to do: I’m going to officially push the release date off until next Tuesday, August 28th.  That way I can make sure everything is all good and ready at that time.

In the meantime, here’s the final cover of the book for you to finally enjoy, and I will continue posting excerpts from the book through the week and weekend leading up to the new release date of August 28th.

Kyra Update

Okay, due to what’s best described as technical difficulties, I’m going to have to delay the release of the book until these issues get resolved.  I’m currently in the process of getting it worked out with Createspace.  Once it’s all taken care of, the book will be up and available as soon as possible.  Stay tuned!

Book Teaser #4 for “Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus”

Final teaser before a final cover teaser and the actual release, which is drawing close.

“Jolus the Malignant had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Chosen One and her Guide when the door in front of him blew to smithereens.  Some splinters shot passed his head, one burying itself in his hand.  He pulled it out, studied the dark red end, and stuck it in his mouth, sucking on his own blood.  He watched the dust settle and smoke disperse, and then spat out the splinter when he saw the two in the doorway.  They looked little worse for wear.  He hadn’t necessarily expected them to get this far, and to best all his guards, as well as get past the many traps he’d set along the way.  The boy had a wound in his side, but it was minor compared to Jolus’s imagined wounds they should’ve sustained.  Seeing them there, ready to do battle wasn’t how he’d intended it all to happen.  And he certainly hadn’t expected Kyra to possess a power to demolish one of his doors.  This wasn’t the Kyra he’d seen in his visions.  For the first time, Jolus wondered about the outcome of this final battle.  But he had his ways, one of which was guaranteed to work, should it be necessary.”

Book Teaser #3 for “Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus”

Another day another teaser.  And this time with something a little more grisly.

“Quark had been flying for days and had yet to eat.  The occasional rat or squirrel it had seen and snapped up were pathetic morsels for its raging appetite.  It yearned to sink its wet teeth into the girl and then the boy.  No, it would kill the boy first, eat him in chunks, and then it would kill the girl and take her back to its master.”

Book Teaser #2 for “Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus”

The countdown continues for Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus, as August 21st looms closer.  Here’s another teaser book quote for you:

“At first all Kyra could see around her was glass then the elevator lifted out of the main building of the palace.  She saw grass on many different hills, in many different colors: green, blue, red, and so much more, just as it had been reflected in the windows of Enchantus.  She saw people below in a courtyard within the palace, watching her; she’d met some of them in her dreams, knowing them one way or another – a brief glimpse, an actual conversation, or interacting with them.  As they moved higher, Kyra saw that they were ascending one of the two towers and would continue to go higher until they reached the floor where Queen Anita resided, however high that was.”

Book Teaser #1 for “Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus”

A week from today, Kyra: The First Book of Enchantus will be released.  To get you in the mood and excited for this young adult fantasy release, here’s the start of a daily teaser, featuring an excerpt from the book:

“She walked into her bedroom, closing the door behind her and was greeted by two large bookshelves, each bulging and overflowing with books of all sizes and color.  Many were stacked sideways, some jammed above others; there were unruly piles on just about every shelf, creating a specific organization that only Kyra understood.  She sighed in pleasure; this was her tonic after a long, exhausting day: walking into her bedroom and being surrounded by the worlds she loved to lose herself in.

She picked up her abused and well-read copy of A Wizard of Earthsea, the first in the Earthsea series by Ursula K. LeGuin.  She loved the characters in this series; the people were like her, different.”
