As #BlackHistoryMonth begins, we remember the black lives lost in 2015
Ya’ll White people can’t tell me that racism is over when these pigs are shooting my brothers and sisters. Ya’ll White people can’t tell me that not all cops are bad yet they’re supporting this white supremacist and racist system just for their own benefits. Ya’ll White people can’t tell me that cops lives are in danger when more people were killed this year. I just hope that these pigs stop going around and shooting up people. #Hate it!

This is my favorite thing. Badass hero cat.
Okay but this is so cool on so many levels. Dogs always get the reputation for being loyal and protective of people -especially children- but that’s only because we made them that way. We bred specific behaviours in certain breeds, meaning there’s plenty of breeds (like the little fucker in the first gif) that we bred to be aggressive and totally not loyal/protective.
But cats, cats domesticated themselves, we had nothing to do with it. They evolved to accept us as a part of THEIR family group, on their terms. So when cats are protective of their owners (and they are renowned for being protective of babies and children though they don’t get much recognition for it), it’s purely because they choose to be, they choose to make us part of their family unit, it has nothing to do with behaviours and traits that humans intentionally bred into them over millennia.
Cats have evolved to recognise human voices. Cats in the wild don’t miaow once they reach adulthood, but domestic cats do because they’ve realised that it’s their best way of communicating with us, and they even miaow at a different frequency with humans because they’ve learned that our ears suck. That’s important because, the high-pitched cries of a human infant/child are closer to the frequency that kittens cry in when they’re in distress.
Cats are protective of human babies and children because they view them essentially as kittens, as vulnerable members of their own family unit that need protection, in the same way that you can have aunts, uncles and cousins in feral cat communities protect kittens that aren’t their own, and even adopt them if their biological mother dies.
Dogs protect us because that’s the way we designed them. Cats protect us because they choose to.
Dogs might be man’s best friend, but cats are your family.
This is…this is really nice.
I agree! It is really really nice!
cats rule everything around me
