ckburch:

One year ago this month, my mother passed away from a long battle with cancer. Last year, I donated all September sales of my books to cancer research, and this month I’m doing the same. All the Kindle editions of my novels are $0.99 this month on sale to help drive said donations, and where I reached $60 last year, I’m hoping to hit $100 this time around. All sales from August will then be donated to the American Cancer Society in October, as Amazon royalties are paid out two months after.

As with last year, if you want to skip the middle man and donate directly, you can go here to the ACS website and choose your own donation. Anything that can be done this month to support cancer research and promote cancer awareness is what I hope to achieve, so reblog and spread this around. If you know someone fighting against cancer, hug them, tell them you love them, support their fight. If you yourself are facing down cancer, you should know that you are braver than you imagine, and the pain will subside at some point. Hang in there. Don’t give up.

Thank you all. August will be a long month. Help me make it a better one.

Signal boosting. In 2014, there will be an estimated 600,000 deaths related to cancer. Help me raise a donation to the American Cancer Society, or make a donation yourself. Help me spread the word and the awareness this month.

August 3rd is Esther Day, a holiday to celebrate love for family and friends!

Tell a friend or family member that you love them: pick up the phone, make a YouTube video, leave them a voicemail, tell them over coffee. Tag posts about your #Esther Day to share them with the world.

Esther passed away from thyroid cancer in late August 2010, aged 16. The non-profit foundation This Star Won’t Go Out was established in her memory. You can find out more about Esther and donate to TSWGO here.

While we’re on the subject of cancer, be sure to check this out, and be a part of it.

Tomorrow! Book Sale and Cancer Awareness!

Tomorrow begins the month of August, and as such all digital versions of my books will be going on sale for $.99. Any and all book sales during the month of August, digital or print, will be then used as a donation to the American Cancer Society. I did the same thing last year, and I ended donating $60 from sales, which I’d like to outdo this year. All of this is being done in memory of my mother, who passed away last August after an overlong and harsh battle with breast cancer that spread to other sites in her body.

If you’re interested in helping create awareness, and want to donate without going through the middleman, you can simply go to the ACS website and donate directly. Regardless of the source or the method, help me raise money, and if you choose not to donate, remember to spread the word and educate others and yourself about cancer prevention and awareness. Stay safe, stay healthy!

Comic-Con: Legendary Pictures Date King Kong Origin Film Skull Island for November 4, 2016 - SuperHeroHype:
Legendary Pictures have confirmed plans for a new King Kong film titled Skull Island and set for release on November 4, 2016.

This. This makes me happy. Kong is my favorite movie monster, so this makes me very happy.
