Why I Wrote JAMOKAN – Badari Warriors Alpha Finds His Fated Mate

From the Archive in honor of the fact Jamokan has just been released on Amazon as a paperback!

VS Note: This post first appeared on Pauline Baird Jones’s blog…

2020 was a challenge as far as writing. With all that was going on with the pandemic, lockdowns, social distancing, not seeing the grandkids, political stuff – wow, the Muse didn’t want to write. I thought I’d just do a short novella about Jamokan, the third Badari Alpha, and at least put out something.

Could You Find a New #SciFi Romance Read on My 50+ Book Backlist?

My first two books were published in 2012, one by Carina Press (a Harlequin imprint) in January and the other I self published in March of that year. Ten years plus now as a published author and I’ve loved every minute of the ride! And I’m sure not stopping now…

It took me three years to have enough books out and enough lovely readers to be able to quit the day job at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the business side of the house and go fulltime as an author. I was so thrilled and I’ve ne...

Why I Wrote KYDEN A #SciFi Romance Gladiator Novel

From the Archive: When I was a kid, I used to watch the old “sword and sandal” movies on the local TV station on weekend afternoons and I loved them! Something about the gladiators of ancient Rome really appealed to me and especially as a venue for telling good stories. In particular I loved “Demetrius and the Gladiators” and pretty much any version of “Last Days of Pompeii,” but especially the 1984 TV miniseries with Duncan Regehr as the gladiator Lydon. Oh yessss…..I also hugely enjoyed the fi...

#SciFi Romance Reads for 2022 Ripped Bodice Bookstore Summer BINGO

The Ripped Bodice Bookstore in SoCal is conducting their sixth annual Summer Romance Bingo. As in other years, I thought it would be fun to take their bingo card of categories, which you can view on their website and identify scifi romance titles that would satisfy the requirements for readers. I asked the members of The SciFi Romance Brigade on Facebook to recommend books and definitely allowed authors to recommend their own titles, although SFR Brigadiers are avid readers and also provided boo...
