1. That one last upward growth spurt my Mother promised me – been waiting for that since I was twelve. Yup, still 5’2 ½”…I think that’s the final number, Mom.

2. Winning the Publishers’ Clearinghouse contest…never gonna hear the doorbell ring and be greeted by a check bigger than the door.

3. Developing a green thumb (for anything other than roses an...

Excerpts from WIP Dancer of the Nile – The “LOOK” Meme

I’ve been tagged by A. S. Fenichel, author of the amazing MAYAN DESTINY series among other works, to participate in the “Look Meme,” where you post three snippets from your current WIP that contain the word “look.” Which is of course one of the dreaded words I try to ferret out and replace with more exciting verbs when I reach the editing stage…but so here goes:

From my WIP DANCER OF THE NILE, set in Ancient Egypt around 1500 BC…but an Egypt where the gods walk the land and amazing things can...

Wednesday Whimsy – The Ying & Yang of Kittens

So here are the first photos of my new kittens – Jake and Keanu, who are somewhere around eight months old. I adopted them from the local animal shelter about three weeks ago and they are so different!

Wednesday Whimsy – Excerpt & Illustrations from My First Novel

While going through ALL the household’s boxes after a recent move, I found the actual first story I ever wrote, when I was 7. I remember tramping through puddles of melting snow outside our upstate New York home while pondering plot points, so it must have been Spring. I’ve always had some vague memory of this deathless epic – self illustrated too! – but it was fun to spend a few moments browsing through the crumbling pages. Even then I had a pen name, I discover – Jeanet Isabella Gray Holton...
