Darryl Chalk is Senior Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia and Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Shakespeare Association. He researches medicine, disease, magic, and emotion in Shakespearean drama and early modern theatre. His most recent book is Contagion and the Shakespearean Stage (2019), a volume of essays co-edited with Mary Floyd-Wilson. A monograph, with the working title Pathological Shakespeare: Contagion, Embodiment, and the Early Modern Scientific Imaginary, is currently in preparation.
