Christmas Day
CHRISTMAS DAY
Whatever book you believe
Whatever flag you fly
Whatever ideology you perceive
Whatever dogma on which you rely
Whatever Party you support
Whatever group to which you discriminate
Whatever lies you have been taught
Whatever people that you hate
We pursue a purpose to actuality
We search for the meaning of life
We contrive teachings to quell our insecurity
We perpetuate hatred and strife
We are but a collection of atoms from the universe
We are only here to survive and breed
We live to die and are then re-dispersed
We are the sustenance for all other organic matter to feed
From today let us stop the insanity
From today let us not seek truth from above
From today let us all help to save our earth and humanity
From today let us learn that our purpose is love
Whatever book you believe
Whatever flag you fly
Whatever ideology you perceive
Whatever dogma on which you rely
Whatever Party you support
Whatever group to which you discriminate
Whatever lies you have been taught

Regret
REGRET
I threw away your love.
Sinking, drowning in despair I look above.
To see the life giving air.
Your face beautiful, framed by soft dark hair.
A tear drop from your eye.
I lift my hand to say goodbye.
Your image starts to fade.
Realization of the mistakes I made.
Hearts broken, selfish foolishness I see.
To this end I must leave you be.
Etched in my mind.
A love alike I will never find.
All the love and happiness that you gave.
Will stay with me all my life to an early grave.

Etched in my mind.

All the love and happiness that you gave.
Will stay with me all my life to an early grave.

Introduction
Hi All.
I have just joined up with good reads.
Well, I certainly have time on my hands as many of you probably do too, unless you are one of the health-workers at the forefront of the Covid 19 tornado wreaking havoc across the earth. If you are, I would like to thank you for putting others first.
Work has fizzled out and we have another 9 days in "The Home Prison." Fortunately my Warder is exceptionally tolerant and good to me.
My passion is writing, writing anything, poetry, and a couple of unfinished books. Because it is a passion doesn't mean to say any of it is good though.
Poetry is very personal as the writer reveals his thoughts and splashes them around for all to see, so I mostly don't expose myself.
I gathered a bit of courage and self published a book last year, "Self published" is a misnomer though, A technology ignoramus, the only self was in the paying.
"The Divide" is a Murder Mystery and is relevant to the crises playing out currently.
Please give it a read and review.
I might as well risk a poem too
FREEDOM
This freedom that we so passionately pursue.
Physical and mental bondage to undo.
Fighters ready to kill the oppressor.
Only to become the new tyrannical aggressor.
Freedom to declare war.
Then others freedom no more.
Freedom to plunder and rape.
The persecutor to incarcerate.
So where is this freedom, where can it be?
If my freedom does not set others free.
Freedom now will not last.
As others freedom will but pass.
Freedom to have a choice.
Whilst others have no voice.
Freedom to post hateful speech.
To instill animosity not peace.
Freedom of the press
The truth to suppress
Media constructs reality
Their bias truth for you to see
Don’t beg for freedom demand equality
Discrimination cease to be
To choose love over hate
All conflict to abate
This true freedom we seek to find
Is but a state of mind
A decision only you can take
Freedom does not freedom make
