i'd also like to share this video of andre leon talley speaking about racism in the fashion industry. anyone who looks at the runway shows, ads, or any fashion mag knows that very few models of color are represented. recently, iman, naomi campbell and bethann hardison were interviewed on this issue as well; you can watch this video here. i am always disappointed to see the runways continue on as almost exclusively white spaces- yes, there are MANY MANY issues within the fashion industry that need to be addressed, and this just one, but it's an important one in regards to representation and racist beauty standards.
