...of my favorite books from 2013. i also loved reading some books that were not published this year, like heidi lynn staples' take care fake bear torque cake, wayne koestenbaum's moira orfei in aigues-morte, ariana reines' thursday, elizabeth taylor's angel, alissa nutting's tampa, claire vaye watkins' battleborn, jane hegland's into the forest, megan abbott's dare me, marie calloway's what purpose did i serve in your life, patricia highsmith's the price of salt, michelle tea's mermaid in chelsea creek,becca jensen's among the dead: ah! and afterwards yes!, mattilda sycamore bernstein's the end of san francisco, evelyn waugh's the loved one, tytti heikkinen's the warmth of the taxidermied animal, jk rowling's the casual vacancy, ali liebegott's cha-ching!, nicole j georges' calling dr. laura, alison bechdel's are you my mother?, rebecca farivar's correct animal, and i am mid-way through veronica gonzalez pena's the sad passions, which is great so far. also on my nightstand: amina cain's creature, nicole steinberg's getting lucky, johannes goransson's haute surveillance, danielle pafunda's natural history rape museum, and eleanor catton's the luminaries. so much reading, so very little time.
