Rescue by Ruin – Snippet Four and Release Day Give-Away
Woohoo! My super-sexy steampunk novel “Rescue by Ruin“ comes out today! It is hot-hot-hot and I am very excited. *does a quick dance around the office*
I love Beatrice and Vaughn’s story and I hope you will too. Here is the promised fourth snippet:
“His eyes, filled with flaming fury, held her captive. She finally managed to drop her gaze and pressed the napkin against his wound. Other than a hiss, he didn’t respond.
During the altercation everyone moved closer to the gramophone. Bea took shallow breaths. She had no idea how much time had passed and when they could expect the Yard.
And they still needed Waldon’s confession.”
Having lived in London for a long time I thoroughly enjoy mixing my experiences and knowledge with research and building a world where dirigibles, automatons and MENVs are part of daily lives. There are a great many definitions of what steampunk is, but for me is is the opportunity to mix the historical with the fantastical and even throw in a little Sci-Fi.
History has always been a subject close to my heart and at one time, when I was very, very young, I thought about becoming an archaeologist. Didn’t quite work out that way, but I wouldn’t mind meeting my own personal Doctor and travel through time and space in our very own TARDIS. I would love to see Ancient Egypt, watch Michelangelo sculpt David, meet Elizabeth I, hang out with Auguste Rodin or travel to Japan and meet Musashi Miyamoto.
What time would you like to visit and who would you like to hang out with? Leave a comment and you will be entered to win a copy of Rescue by Ruin. If you also Tweet a link to this post and include my Twitter handle @TinaChristopher I’ll enter your name for second time. The contest runs until Wednesday 7th November.
Happy Friday!

Rescue by Ruin – Snippet Three
And Beatrice and Vaughn were just about to move on to the fun parts of the evening…
“Vaughn shrugged and carefully opened the door into the corridor a crack. At the other end three men, all wearing the Air Pirate uniform of leather trousers, boots and coat, combined with goggles to cover their faces, tore open the doors and dragged the inhabitants out at gunpoint.
But not for themselves. Not to rob or ravish.
He frowned at the tall bulky figure of a well-dressed man. He wore evening clothes very much like Vaughn himself. His face was red and a vein throbbed at his forehead. He looked as if he’d succumb to apoplexy if his needs weren’t met soon.”

Rescue by Ruin – Snippet Two
Beatrice and Vaughn have met and are now discovering more about each other:
“One couple had half undressed. Her corset was unlaced and her breasts stood out for all to see. His hands cupped and caressed them.
Bea strained to keep them in her sights. Watching them sent tingles unfurling deep inside her. She shivered.
“Shocked?” Vaughn’s voice had a husky timbre. He must have felt her need to observe and spun her slowly so that with every turn she could watch the couple.
She examined her response. It was not what she expected.”

Rescue by Ruin – Snippet One
My sexy steampunk novel Rescue by Ruin comes out this Friday. Every day until then I will share a small snippet.
This is from the first chapter, a few paragraphs in:
“Beatrice’s heart pounded. Her throat was dry.
Once she stepped on board, once the Venia set off, she couldn’t turn back. The airship would not land again until dawn.
She’d be trapped.”

My New Flatmate
She’ll hate me for sharing pictures of her while wearing the cone of shame, but I had to share this bundle of lovely.
This is Emma, you know, Emma Peel from The Avengers?
Don’t you think the similarities are astonishing?;)
I am fostering Emma for the next two or three years while she is a blood donor cat at the Toronto Veterinary Clinic. I met her last week and she was the one cat who explored the whole room, even found a small hole between the wall and an upper cabinet. Whereas the other three cats all stayed on the floor she checked out everything and showed quite a bit of attitude.
When I described her to a friend, Bonnie came up with the name and I loved it. It fits;). Emma is a tortoiseshell cat and has a white tip on her tail. She seems to be settling in alright and has already marked one of the comfy chairs in my office as hers.
She’s only wearing the cone while I’m treating her eye. Lol, she hates it and I really wish I could take it off, but we have strict instructions to keep it on until Tuesday. Talk about being thrown in the deep end as a pet parent. We’ve managed mostly okay, but lets just say a lot of treats were involved;).
I am excited and a little worried. I hope she likes me and her new home. So far, so good!
Have a great Sunday and a fab start to the week.

Updates to the website
Now that the release of my sexy steampunk Rescue by Ruin is only a few weeks away I needed to make some updates to my website to represent both my futuristic and my steampunk stories.
The fabulous Gina X. Grant is a genius with Power Point and did an amazing job with my new header. I have two new tabs, one called “Corsets, Cogs & Courage for more information on my steampunk stories, the other “Lust in Space” for my science fiction stories.
I am editing book 3 in the Celestial Surrender series and hope to have it off to my beta reader in the next couple of days. The outline for Sexy Steampunk 2 is nearly done. I have started the first chapter and can’t wait to get back to it. Why can’t there be more hours in the day?
How is your week shaping up so far?
