Sneak Peek Sunday

And another Sneak Peek Sunday. I can’t believe it’s already been a week. The older I get, the more time seems to fly.

Here is the opening of Tangled Shadows, much less racy than the last;). But believe me things get hot and heavy between the three very quickly…

The taller of the man candy raised his hand in a wave. He leaned back, gently kissed his partner on the lips and said, “Give me a minute, Nikolai,” before striding over to the other pilot. His smooth voice carried easily above the low hum of talk. He navigated the uneven splintered floors with a sleek grace that made Brooke drool just the tiniest bit.

Their kiss caused her to sigh with disappointment, but she could still appreciate.

You Gotta Do What You’ve Gotta Do!

For the last week I’ve been working on a steampunk novella. The story has no title yet. I had hoped to have it finished by now, but am probably two hard writing days away from the end. It didn’t help that a couple of days ago I had to delete about 2k, words that I had dragged out of myself like I was paying $100 for each and every one. They were decent words, fine for a first draft, but they weren’t going in the right direction. I wasn’t excited about writing the story and had to force myself to sit down.

Then I had the “Eureka” moment (no, not the TV programme, the moment where you go “why didn’t I think of this before?”). With heavy heart I deleted the words and took a different turn. Since then I wrote close to 7k in the last two days and am looking forward to getting back to it. It was the right decision and I am kicking myself I hadn’t thought of it earlier.

The story still needs a lot of work and there are a number of twists I am still working on, but overall it is coming together.

Never be afraid to delete words. I saved the new story in a new document, so the deleted passages still exist.

Now if I could only whip these two steampunk stories into shape…Never mind, does anyone have some book recommendations? I have a pile of books, but nothing to read. I’m looking for sexy as the wise Gina X. Grant was right when she told me to surround myself with the fiction I write. It is much easier to jump from a sexy story to my own writing than from a serious or young adult book.

Issues with the Kobo website

For some reason or another Kobo appears to be unable to load my books properly to their website. If you are searching for me by name you have to add quotation marks around my name. “tina christopher” is the only way you will find my books. If you put in my name without the marks you are sent to another author’s list of books.

This has been going on for a few months now. They’ve managed to set it up correctly for a short period of time, but then it changed to another author again. The lovely Jaime over at EC is doing battle, but somehow she’s not getting anywhere despite her best efforts.

I have no idea what their problem is other than it is very frustrating. So I just wanted to put it out there in case you’re looking for my books on the Kobo website.

Tangled Indulgence Cover Reveal

If anyone has seen January, can you please ask it to introduce itself to me? It’s already the 10th and I have no idea where the last week and a bit went. *sigh*

Anyway, I have exciting news. My wonderful editor accepted Tangled Indulgence, book 3 in the Celestial Surrender series and today I got the cover. I don’t yet have a blurb or a publication date (need to finish those edits first;), but I’ll let you know as soon as I do.

I LOVE it. It’s different from the first two, but still connects all three books. And it’s hot:) I love how the artist gives us a hint of what her world looks like. And that kiss…

Happy New 2013

I don’t know about you, but I try not to make New Year’s resolutions. I usually don’t end up sticking to them and feeling bad for not doing well with what I’d planned. So instead of telling you I am planning to exercise more or eat healthier I will tell you about my writing plans for 2013.

At the moment I am working on the sequel to Rescue by Ruin. It has no title yet and is the story of Beatrice’s best friend Susan. It is also a menage;). I will have to stop work on that for a little bit as I want to write an erotic steampunk novella for an open call. It will be the prequel to a potential three-book series that I am very excited about.

Once Susan’s story is finished it’s back to my sci-fi world and the final book in the Celestial Surrender series. My working title is Tangled Redemption and it is the story of the Spaniard and Sydney. And there may be another sexy Vampire involved;).

I also hope to reintroduce a young woman you first met in Tangled Shadows. She has a mysterious past and a difficult future due to her heritage. If everything works out Edana’s story will be the first book in a new sci-fi series in the same world as the Tangled books. You will meet more inhabitants of this universe and hopefully have some sexy and rip-roaring adventures.

Those are the plans I have so far. Obviously there’s always a danger that I do the “Squirrel”-move (that’s what my writing group calls it when a new and shiny idea drags your attention away). I am also thinking about applying to two new jobs, one which is very close to my dream job (so fingers crossed;) and change my hair.
