my life in words
Walking the
"tightrope of life"
is exhilarating and exasperating, as well as fulfilling and frustrating. It certainly has taught me how to juggle the bad with the good.
Disappointments are never easy, and uncertainty is not enjoyable. But somehow, I always stand amazed the way they always lend themself to being great teachers of life.
When I'm suddenly rerouted on "life's highway" it is unsettling at best. At that very moment I have the opportunity to make a choice. I can unravel at the seams, or get out my road map and find a new way to get to where I'm going. It may take me a little longer, and I may have to learn to like looking at different scenery, but I will arrive at my destination eventually. I may not understand "why" I had to be rerouted in the moment, but the answer will be waiting for me when I arrive at my final destination.
I give myself permission to "tread water" in the pool of confusion just long enough to get my bearings. Then I will start swimming for all I'm worth.
I have to admit it's a little sad having the rug pulled out from underneath me when I thought I was on the right track. I have been surprised to realize I was experiencing the slightest feelings of the stages of grief. But then I remind myself how happy I will be when I finally arrive at the place I was REALLY meant to be. After all, isn't that the ONLY place I EVER want to be?

It's MUCH easier to be pulled
