The Lion Potter: Whole Food, Clean-Eating Restaurant Announced
Long-time potters and Gettysburg business owners David and Junko Young have announced plans to open a green, whole-food and clean-eating rest stop at the intersection of US 15 and Taneytown Road inhistoric Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The initial plan is to open a whole-food café, which will transition into a restaurant and finally a full healthy-choice rest stop.

Currently the couple run a successful ceramic gallery and produce stand on Taneytown Road. They have established relationships with over twenty five different farmers in the area and plan to incorporate those relationships into their new venture.

The Lion Potter says. . .
We are located at the halfway point between Connecticut and the Carolinas on Highway 15 in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In 2013 Gettysburg was one of the top three tourist locations in the world. On average, Gettysburg National Military Park draws over 1.2 million visitors a year. Gettysburg is a community rich in history and abounding in natural beauty. Our goal is to take the best of the distinct local attributes and develop them into a healthy eatery. We are a husband and wife functional pottery team. We share not only a passion for art, but also for exquisite food. Junko’s mother was a chef instructor, and I grew up in a bakery. I was nine years old when I started my first fruit stand. For the last ten years, my pretty wife and I have operated our successful Ceramic Gallery and seven-days-a-week Farmers Market. Running our fruit stand has allowed us to develop relationships with 27 different local farmers. They do an amazing job of supporting our effort to make the bounty of Adams County available to the explorers passing through. Our first giant step forward has been to secure a location on US 15 and Taneytown Road. In 2013, we successfully ran a test market at this location. We have a building that needs to be reappointed inside and out.

Sucker Literary Magazine Blog Hop: The Writing Process #AmWriting
I was asked to participate in the Sucker Magazine Blog Hop by an author you’ll recognize if you follow me at all. . .Jesi Lea Ryan writes one of my favorite YA series, The Arcadia Books. Arcadia’s Gift and Arcadia’s Curse are just amazing books. . .and the third book should be coming VERY SOON. I hope. Jesi, are you reading this?
Check out Jesi’s post last week here.
Part of this project involves a discussion on our writing processes:
1)What am I working on?
At the moment, I’m in the middle of writing JUST DESSERTS, the sequel to my New Adult contemporary romance, BEST SERVED COLD. My last two releases were paranormal romance, so I’m enjoying being back in the so-called real world. And I love these characters. . .they were not supposed to have their own story, but here it is.
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
This is hard when it comes to contemporary. I like to think my characters are appealing, even while they are flawed. And one rule I have, whether I’m writing contemporary or paranormal, adult, New Adult or Young Adult. . .I write strong females. Strength may not always be in the stereotypical understanding, but it’s there. Family relationships are also important in my books.
3) Why do I write what I do?
The stories come, usually by way of characters. Every now and then, a story will fall into my lap fully formed. I don’t necessarily choose when to write what, but the common denominator is always romance, whether it is contemporary or paranormal. I like love stories. They make me happy!
4) How does my writing process work?
I start with a loose timeline of events and character information, like names, applicable dates or relationships and physical descriptions. And then I just start writing. In the early chapters especially, I spend a good amount of time thinking about my story even when I’m not writing: I’ve found that laundry, floor mopping and dish washing are all excellent mindless tasks that free me to listen to my characters. I also listen to the playlist for the book frequently while driving, which also keeps me in the right frame of mind.
After I finish, I go back through to add, tweak and do as many of my own line edits as possible, before it goes to others for edits and proofreading.
Thanks for visiting today! The next stop on this hop will be at Liz Schulte’s site. Liz is an amazing author. I absolutely love her Guardian series, and her Easy Bake Coven books, but I have to admit, my favorites are her Ella Reynolds books. They’re paranormal mysteries (or paramysteries).

Release Day for The Little Flame Series!
The first THREE novellas in the Little Flame Series are now live on Amazon and Smashwords, and will soon be available on iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo.

Description:
They say home is where the heart is, but if that’s
true, then I’m lost because I have no clue where my heart is, anymore. I thought I knew—until I met Maximillian.
I was on my way out of the Capital City before the
local vampires could catch on to me and let’s just say if that happened then
this club dancer would be facing her expiration date. And that’s when the famous DJ blew into town—and
into my head and heart. He turned all my
plans upside down with his sick friend and his electric blue eyes, damn it.
I should have cut bait and run for my life, but I couldn’t
abandon someone I could heal—even if it meant the vampires might catch up with
me. Besides, Maximillian smelled
familiar, like deep forest and
pine needles baked in the sun mixed with that chilly snap of running water and
the coolness of twilight. Those things have a smell that adds up to a dream.
You can get lost in that kind of dream. It can fill
your mind with ideas and notions you have no business thinking or feeling.
Dreams like that make it easy to forget the danger you’re in.

For one week only each novella is available for just 99 cents.
Download your copies today and spread the word before the
release sale ends on May 6, 2014.

The Forgotten Ones
Book One in The Danaan Trilogy

About Laura:
Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known.

Literary Addicts Wednesday Meme: What Book or Series Would You Like to See Made Into A Movie?
What book or series would I like to see made into a movie or television show? Hmm, that’s a loaded question. . .
I’ll say that I have been mostly disappointed in the adaptations of books I’ve seen, with a few exceptions. My imagination is so active that any other interpretation usually is a let-down. I remember being so excited as a little girl about the Little House series. . .and then bitterly upset when the episodes did not stick to the book I knew so well. Same with Anne of Green Gables–the BBC/PBS series is so far from the ‘real’ story that it made me really angry. Gah!
I’m cautiously optimistic about the Outlander series coming to television. We’ll see.
Other than that. . .I think I’d like to see JD Robb’s In Death books on the small screen. I love Eve Dallas and think it would make an amazing show. And I also think Olivia Hardin’s Bend-Bite-Shift series would make an awesome set of movies. . .so intricate and intriguing, not to mention hot and sexy!
But I must be in charge of casting. And script adaptation. And set design. And. . .well, Olivia, you might as well just let me be in charge of the whole dang thing.

TRANSCENDENT by Olivia Hardin Release Day!

“Olivia Hardin takes a character we hated in a previous book and somehow makes him a hero we love. That’s no small feat. Transcendent captures perfectly the tension and temptation of falling in love in the midst of turmoil and intrigue. . .it’s a story that will linger in your heart.”

“Olivia Hardin weaves a wonderfully emotional story of love, redemption, and political intrigue in Transcendent. Be prepared to transcend your own expectations.”
To the Women on the Hill McKenna is a spy who sails the nightwind to keep close tabs on her people. In truth, McKenna is a double operative, an integral part of an underground rebellion. The Women are secretly bleeding the fae of their powers then banishing them to the Island Anethemusa; but the Dissenters, rebels who suffer under the crushing power of the Women, mean to put an end to their reign.
When McKenna happens upon a talking weasel, she knows she’s found the perfect envoy for her covert mission. Robin Weir’s punishment for a life of betrayal is to be stripped of his magic and exiled as an animal in a foreign realm. He’s used to dirty jobs and subterfuge so becoming McKenna’s errand boy should be a simple task.
But things heats up when Robin finds he has the power to shift into a man again. For McKenna the pet she’s invited into her home now wants nothing less than to possess her heart, body and soul. With the uprising at the ready, lives could be lost if McKenna can’t balance her separate identities of spy, rebel and lover.

Literary Addicts Wednesday Meme: How Many Books Do You Read At Once?
This week’s question is a bit of a sore subject with me. Growing up, I took a lot of flak from my parents because I was never reading only one book. They would roll their eyes when they found one turned over on the sofa. . .another in the car. . .and yet another on the nightstand. . .
But that’s how I roll. Even now, I’m seldom only reading one book at a time. When we lived in New Jersey, I had my upstairs book (at the bedside) and my downstairs book (in the kitchen). Especially when I had nursing babies, the book had to be at the ready when I was!
I have never had trouble keeping the stories straight while I read them. For whatever reason, it all makes sense in my mind.
Now that I have my Kindle, I can take all my books with me everywhere, and that’s great, too.
What I read when depends on my mood. My books, like my friends, come through for me no matter what I’m feeling.
Does that make me kind of MPD? Maybe. But I prefer to look at my reading habits as particularly well-rounded.
{So what am I reading right now? Glad you asked. CRASHED by K. Bromberg is on my Kindle. So is BECOMING MYSELF by Staci Eldridge. Joss Whedon CONVERSATIONS is on my desk, for when my Kindle is charging.}
