THE SESSIONS by Laurel Rivers

619sDhp0bLL._SL1001_Description:When Serena, a grown woman, is forced into counseling by her overbearing parents, she get’s more than expected from the sessions with her sexy therapist.

The Good:Ms. Rivers has a good narrative voice, and this is a pretty clever situation. I also kind of love that the main character is a total perv. The story is structurally sound. And I’m a sucker for a good, clever last line (like “Nobody’s perfect!” at the end ofSome Like It Hot). This story has one of those lines. I actually l...

Advice about Writing

From the inbox:

qa

Q1:

I have just finished reading this fabulous book you have written. I only ask advice from you. I am an aspiring writer myself, but being a new mother there hasn’t been much time to really write many stories. I am a big paranormal fiction nut. Just wondering on how to I go about getting published.

A:

Oh, I feel you, girl. New motherhood really took it out of me and my writing practice. My number one piece of advice: Go easy on yourself! Those newborn months are bad enough withou...

My 2014 Release Schedule

Bad News: No new stuff til April.

Good News: There will be lots of new stuff this year, because I’ve signed with Harlequin Kimani for a few stories and am now a hybrid author.

So keeping in mind that all dates are subject to change, here’s what I’m hoping my release schedule will be this year:

dim the lights

April: Contemporary Romance Novel. Still going back and forth on the title, but it stars Sam from HIS ONE AND ONLY, a Russian hockey player (Alexei’s Rustanov’s cousin in fact!), an orphan, and a completel...

THE MASSEUSE and THE DRAGON by Violette Dubrinsky

The-Dragon_453x680 the masseuseThere are a few authors who fellow readers often recommend I read through Goodreads and whatnot. Violette Dubrinsky’s works come up a lot. I love her paranormal work, and so when she turned her typing fingers to contemporary, I decided to have a peek.

Description:THE MASSEUSE is part one of a saga that begins when an executive named Jezebel Carter gets what turns into an erotic massage by a man she thinks is just a masseuse. Spoiler-but-not-really: he’s totally not.

THE DRAGON is part two of t...

WOLF AND SOUL Delayed [Huge Sad Face]

I’m feverishly working on bringing this tale to a close, so I’m not going to take up too much time with this post.

Wolf-and-soul coverMain Point: WOLF AND SOUL will not be releasing on December 31st (today) as promised, and I am so very sorry.

2013 really threw me for a loop as far as finding out the difference between what I think I can do and what I can realistically do. And December… well, it’s a tale as old as time, filled with unexpected present shopping, obligations to relatives, and of course, ear infectio...

HOW TO LOVE A BLUE DEMON–An Interview with Sherrod Story

Guys!

This year, I had the privilege of reading an early draft of HOW TO LOVE A BLUE DEMON by Sherrod Story, and I loved, loved, loved it. But of course I couldn’t review it because the draft I read wasn’t the draft readers would ultimately read. So we decided to do an interview instead. And let me tell you, I so enjoyed doing this interview with Sherrod.

So much so that if there are any authors reading this, who would like to get interviewed by me, drop me a line on Facebook or in my gmail acc...

WOLF AND PREJUDICE is here!!! (Finally)

Wolf-and-Prejudice coverGuys, I know it’s been a long road, but we’ve finally reached the promised book, WOLF AND PREJUDICE, the official-official sequel to HER VIKING WOLF. And let me tell you, I love this book. LOVED Alisha. So much, you don’t even know. I just hope you get as much of a kick out of reading it as I did writing it. I also hope it was worth the wait.

In any case, thanks so much for your patience. And, as always, thanks so much for your kind emails, comments, and reviews. Most of all, thanks so much fo...

Wolf and…

Guys. I mean, GUYS! I don’t even have the words to explain how insanely untidy the fall went down. The day job was pulling on me, the baby was pulling on me, the stories were pulling on me. You don’t even know.

So WOLF AND PREJUDICE coming out in September as promised–yeah, that didn’t happen. It also didn’t happen in October. Or November. And now I’m having to tell you I won’t be releasing a book in December.

I’ll be releasing three.

What?!?! You didn’t say three, Theodora!

Yes, I said three.

But...
