News on upcoming publications
I haven't been posting here for a while. Not because I haven't had plenty going on, but rather because I've had a lot too much on my plate.
However, after a hiccup for "Swift Justice," a new editor is now hard at work, and a publication date will be announced soon.
"Night Shadows" is halfway through its revision process. I've still got at least one more draft to work through until that one is ready for editing, but as soon as I rolled over that 300 page mark and had shaved close to 70 pages off it in the process, I knew I was really getting a handle on this once very large book. The critique group, my trusted fellow writers of the Pacific Online Writers community are with me on this revision journey and providing invaluable input.
The title of Book 3 in the "Indelible" series will be titled "Swift Retribution." As Brian Swift has demonstrated in books 1 & 2, he's determined to put both his professional and private lives on a more even keel. In book 3, he'll be trying to solve his brother's murder and discover more about his past. Kaylen Roberts will open a new club and take on more challenges, herself.
I'll have more information on my website shortly. 2017 is going to be a very busy and fulfilling year, as I also joined the board of the local Sisters in Crime chapter this year.

Moving is Hell
This move particularly qualified for a hellish one. The only time I have sold and bought in the same year. I have taken a solemn vow never to do that again.
My internet service went on hiatus from 9/25 to 10/16. I downsized, and my new home was so filled with boxes that moving around it was a challenge the first couple of weeks. Now I'm down to a large standing pile of unopened boxes containing all my artwork/pictures to be sorted through and hung where they fit and make me happy. There will be some that will not fit, and this will not make me happy, but downsizing is a real challenge in every way, and some things I love will not be able to stay with me.
My office was the last room to be tackled. It's still not exactly functional, and the 3-shelf bookcase I bought to hold everything that used to be in a small office area in the kitchen of my Portland home, plus what used to be in the bookcase that had to move to the kitchen in the Salem house because the pantry is a lot smaller, is still in the back of my car while my right arm and shoulder recover from furniture moving, box moving and shelving, un-shelving and reshelving 2 of my bookcases to a) get the cord from beneath the one in the living room that should have been available for the DISH technician, who had to use a new one and b) to place stabilizers under the front of the bookcase in one corner of the dining room and then to move it so the Century Link technician could get to the jack and the wall plug there, near the new box he mounted on the outside of the house to replace the old one. The jack and plug in my new office weren't going to do it for him, unfortunately.
But I'm back online, Geek Squad is doing some work to get my equipment tuned up and running faster, which will be completed next week. At least I can now stop using all the minutes in my smart phone contract and then some, and with the general upheaval drawing to a close, I am also looking forward to writing the next 100 pages of "Swift Retribution," so I complete the first draft before the end of the year.
Sometimes, you just have to do the best you can, given the circumstances. That's my mantra right now, and I'm sticking to it.
