Propping up the micro-phallic compensator business
A news story in this morning’s paper reports that the Trump Administration has pledged financial support to states to start arming and training teachers. Aside from the plan being insane, I object to paying for the guns and training with my tax dollars.
Republicans managed to write into law a provision that made sure that they never had to pay for abortions, which they pretend to object to, so why should I have to pay for a wacky plan that anyone capable of thinking logically objects to? If the government absolutely must arm little old Mrs. Beasley, let the NRA and a tax on guns and ammunition pay for the training!
If the Republicans and the NRA weren’t using this as an opportunity to sell more guns, they’d give teachers bear spray instead. Bear spray doesn’t require training, and would actually have a better chance of being effective against a shooter. But no! This isn’t about saving lives. It’s about keeping the political donations coming and propping up the micro-phallic compensator business!

Death penalty for drug dealers? Then be consistent and . . .
Yesterday Führer Trump aroused his followers by endorsing the death penalty for drug dealers. He suggested that the penalty was appropriate because people die incidentally as a result of the drugs the dealers sell.
Okay, but if we’re going to punish people with the death penalty for incidental deaths, we must be consistent and punish everyone who kills that way. That includes gun manufacturers, corporate polluters, military contractors, and the politicians who side with the NRA and polluters and sabotage health care!

Evangelical flimflam men

Evangelical Christian leaders screamed about immorality and impeachment when Bill Clinton had an affair, yet when Donald Trump has multiple affairs with porn stars and brags about sexually assaulting others they give him a mulligan? Hypocrisy isn’t a strong enough word to describe such conservative pieces of excrement. And their followers? If they still haven’t figured out that people like Pastor Robert Jeffress are merely flimflam men looking to part them from their money . . . well, they don’t have the brains God gave an animal cracker!”

Wars are seldom fought for American interests
Marty’s photo of the day #2476: Quick! Name a war in the last 70 years that the United States fought that later you thought, “Wow! I’m sure glad we got involved in that one.” Can you? I didn’t think so.
That’s because the biggest lie that politicians and the military tell us is that our young men and women need to put their lives on the line for “American interests.” If they were truthful, they would say that young men and women need to put their lives on the line for “my political interests” or for “corporation interests” or for “military contractor interests.”
I’m in a suburb of Washington, DC today to present my show, “Around the World in 50 Minutes,” at Northern Virginia Community College. I took this photo of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial the last time I was here. Etched into the wall are 58,318 names of Americans who died because of the Vietnam War. Can anyone honestly say that sacrificing those 58,318 people was good for America?
